Disney Infinity 3.0 Review: This Gaming Family Loves It!

Our family has been waiting forever for Disney Infinity 3.0, okay well it feels like forever. All I can say is that we have been counting down the days until we could play that game in our own living room. We tried it out a couple of times along the way and loved it at first sight. Being a gaming family is already fun, but being a Disney gamer family is just a magical experience for everyone. When our Disney Infinity 3.0 box of awesome arrived our family just about hit the roof!

Disney Infinity 3.0 brings the complete Star Wars experience to your living room. The game offers players the opportunity to play as all of their favorite characters from the classic movies, along with television shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Wars Rebels. Another amazing thing about Disney Infinity 3.0 is the Toy Box mode, where your imagination can run wild, and you can bring all of your Disney fantasies to life. My children loved getting the chance to have characters like Yoda and Mulan race around a track that they created in the Toy Box. There a re lots of things to do in this sandbox environment, like building racetracks, arenas, scenic landscapes, or recreating some of your favorite Disney attractions! On top of the Toy Box Mode,  Disney Infinity 3.0 also includes the outstanding Twilight of the Republic set, which takes place in the time period of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the prequel trilogy.

Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic is a great set that is perfect for all Star Wars fans. It features a cast of familiar faces, and some of the most threatening enemies in the galaxy. Throughout the campaign, you will encounter foes such as General Grievous, Cad Bane, and Darth Maul. In Disney Infinity 3.0, the combat system has also been reworked, giving the lightsaber combat a realistic, fast, and fun feel. The Twilight of the Republic set tells an interesting tale, and has a lot of different variations in gameplay throughout the campaign. In some levels, players will find themselves engaged in on-foot combat with Battle Droids and other enemies from the Star Wars universe, while in other levels players may be battling enemy ships in space. The Twilight of the Republic set is fantastic, and is the Clone Wars adventure many have waited for!

 Another thing that makes Disney Infinity 3.0 shine is the new Toy Box Takeover mode.  Toy Box Takeover is a Toy Box Game. It is similar to Disney Infinity 2.0‘s Escape from the Kyln and Brave: Forest Siege. Toy Box Takeover pits your full roster of Disney Infinitycharacters against Syndrome and other iconic villains, as you travel across many different environments facing many challenges. The game is a lot of fun, and is a great way to level up your Toy Box characters.

 Disney Infinity 3.0 is an all-around incredible game for Disney and Star Wars fans! The Toy Box is a place players can become lost in for hours while creating their next Disney masterpiece, the  Twilight of the Republic set is superb, and the new  Toy Box Takeover is a great addition to the game. My children and I love everything about the title, and it has become one of our favorite games to play together! https://infinity.disney.com/

Gaming and our family go hand in hand together. From oldest to youngest we all love it. Of course Nintendo is a household word around here and so is game chatting about the latest games and new releases. Today our family had the chance to take part in the LBX: Little Battlers eXperience at the Nintendo World store in Rockefeller Plaza NYC. We had the chance to watch an exclusive screening of two new episodes of Nicktoons’ LBX: Little Battlers eXperience TV show. The new season of premieres Sunday, Oct. 18th on Nickelodeon.  Before and after the screening we had the opportunity to  play the new Nintendo 3DS game based on the show. There were experts from Nintendo to help out and they even had an on-site drawing for a chance to win a cool mini robot figure! We did not get lucky this time, but the screening and playtime were priceless.

We were introduced to the game by an expert from Nintendo who clued us in on the  Little Battlers eXperience. The new game lets players customize their own mini robots using more than 4,000 parts and battle other players’ robots. Players can also battle against their friends or team up with in-game characters that are also from the TV series for local 3-on-3 battles. We were able to play in teams of three to battle others at the event.

 

So, this is the breakdown on the show just in case it is something new for you. In the new season of LBX: Little Battlers eXperience, Van Yamano is on his way to the exclusive release of a ground-breaking new prototype when the onslaught of unknown enemies and machines that seem to think for themselves make the threat of impending chaos greater than ever. Thankfully, the next generation of LBX players is on the horizon. With his friends and a new LBX by his side, Van is ready to battle on!

Both the show and game are both boy and girl friendly. Emily had an awesome time watching the screeners and playing the just released 3DS game- LBX: Little Battlers eXperience. It also seemed at the event that anyone who was already a fan of Pokemon loved the new game instantly! I did try it myself on the three battle three game and it was superfun! Game on!

Nintendo’s Splatoon Is Taking Over Our House This Summer!

This summer something has taken over our house! No one is complaining that’s for sure. In fact this gaming family has welcomed the takeover with open arms! Splatoon, Nintendo’s new energetic third-person shooter game is a perfect game for families and kids of all ages! Splatoon offers a unique experience that differs from other games in its genre. Players can seamlessly transform from their human form into squids, and can swim around in the paint that they have coated the ground with from their guns.

Splatoon’s multiplayer mode focuses on two teams competing the cover the most ground with their team’s paint color. This makes for a hectic, exciting, and fun multiplayer experience. Splatoon’s graphics show off the technical power of the Wii U, and all of the different vibrant colors in the game set it apart from most other games on the market.

My children have become big fans of Nintendo’s Splatoon. It is a game that appeals to all ages, due to the fact that it is very bright and colorful along with having RPG-like character customization and multiplayer with high replay value. Splatoon is an incredible game, and has become a classic in my home. By the way: SPLATFEST!! We have and will be so there! If only we could choose the winning team! Thanks for all the fun, Nintendo. You know how to keep this family happy!

Skylanders SuperChargers Races Onto the Scene This Fall!

The latest Skylanders game has been announced, and it looks INCREDIBLE: this fall, clear the road, air, and sea for the vehicle-focused Skylanders SuperChargers! As you know, we’re BIG Skylanders fans here, and as a family who’s played through the four previous chapters in the Skylanders adventure (the 2011 debut hit Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure & its sequels Skylanders Giants, Skylanders Swap Force, and Skylanders Trap Team), we’re thrilled to check out the latest additions to the franchise. But just what is Skylanders SuperChargers?

Releasing on September 20 of this year, Skylanders SuperChargers will focus on a brand new type of interactive Skylanders toy: vehicles! Yes, all of your favorite Skylanders (plus 20 new SuperChargers!) will be able to drive, dive, and fly across Skylands as they explore the world in twenty new land, water, and air vehicles. The cars (and planes, and submarines, and more!) each pair up with one of the new SuperCharger characters (like the Giants, Swap Force, and Trap Team characters that lent their names to previous games)– though any character can drive, when the vehicle and its matching SuperCharger are on the portal together, both will receive a supercharged upgrade, making them more powerful overall.

As always, the game will release with a Starter Pack featuring the new portal and three Skylanders figures– this year, those three figures are the trailblazing dune buggy Hot Streak, its partner SuperCharger (the robotic-looking flaming dragon Spitfire), and fan favorite Stealth Elf, who’s been given an upgrade to SuperCharger status as well! The game will also be available in a new digital Portal Owner’s Pack– similar to the Portal Owner’s Pack from Skylanders Giants, this new edition will allow you to use the previous game’s portal (in this case, the one from Skylanders Trap Team), but unlike the previous Portal Owner’s Pack, the Skylanders SuperChargers one will feature a digital download of the game rather than a physical disc, and digital versions of the starter pack characters as well.

Skylanders SuperChargers will be available on September 20, 2015 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, WiiU, Xbox 360, PS3, and iOS (and an alternate experience of the game will also be available on Wii and 3DS.) Valentine’s Day is creeping up fast. We’ll definitely be celebrating the big love day around here by playing one of our favorite games! You will not want to miss out on this awesome addition to the crew. Skylanders’ newest stud, Love Potion Pop Fizz!!!!! When his latest attempt to concoct the ultimate raspberry soda totally backfired, Love Potion Pop Fizz was caught in a blast that turned him pink and gave him an alluring aroma.  At least that’s how he tells it.  But with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the Skylanders are all wondering if Pop Fizz is telling the truth – or if there is a special someone that he’s trying to impress! This character is available for a limited time at major retailers for $14.99. Run!!!!!  Your family will definitely fall in love with  Love Potion Pop Fizz! We did!
