Ready Player One Now In Theaters! A Gamers Dream Come True!

Will I like the movie, Ready Player One? YES! This movie is great for everyone, especially gamers. If you are a gamer you are going to absolutely love this flick on the big screen! Our family watched it on IMAX and the seated fans were cheering out loud! It was awesome to see that many fans cheering along. It’s the kind of movie you just get lost in. As a note, I am planning to take my eleven year old daughter to see this movie, even though they do use the F word during the Chucky scene. I’m glad I had the chance to see it first to know what is coming. The rest is perfect for kids who love gaming or adventure!

Ready Player One is the epic pop culture tribute that fans of classic films and video games have been waiting for. In the film, fans will step into the Oasis, where anything beyond one’s wildest dream is no longer out of reach. Ready Player One encompasses everything that makes a film great, and works it into a cohesive and exhilarating journey. Steven Spielberg does an exceptional job bringing the story of Ernest Cline’s novel to the big screen, and truly captures the spectacle that the tale portrays.

The movie centers around Wade Watts, an 18-year-old boy who comes from the Stacks, an impoverished area near Columbus, Ohio. While not living the best life in the Stacks, Watts spends most of his time immersed within the OASIS, a virtual world created by James Halliday, who Watts looks up to, and his partner Ogden Morrow. Throughout his journey inside The OASIS, Wade must collect the three keys that Halliday has left behind after his death inside the world he created. He faces quite the challenge, however, when rival businessman Nolan Sorrento steps into the fray with the intent to be the sole controller of The OASIS. Watts can’t take on his foe alone, and must band together with his friends to complete the ultimate task of saving The OASIS, and preserving Halliday’s memory.

Overall, Ready Player One is a unique experience with just enough pop culture references to keep the action moving. Audiences will be extremely surprised with who they may see in the film, from classic characters such as King Kong and Chucky to those more obscure who may just work better as a surprise for viewers. The film does a great job finding balance between giving the audeince pop culture references, and providing a brand new story that ties it all together. At its core, Ready Player One is an outstanding ride that brings back the heart of some of Steven Spielberg’s early film career classics. Fans are given the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane while also discovering a new classic film adventure. Ready Player One is an absolute blast, and a must-see for video game nerds and movie fanatics everywhere!
 

So grab your friends and family and head to the theater. If you have the chance to see the movie in IMAX, do it! It’s worth the extra if you have a good IMAX theater around you. I’m glad I’m going to see it for a second time with the rest of my family that missed the first time around. I’m looking forward to what they think about the movie. I’m sure they will have the same love for this movie that I do!
Can’t wait to hear what you think about Ready Player One! As far as the book is concerned, I have never read the book that preceded the movie. I did have the chance to chat with some Book Fans that were at the screening with me. They LOVED the movie too, but said that it did differ in many ways from the book but they were still happy about the movie. Skylanders SuperChargers Races Onto the Scene This Fall!

The latest Skylanders game has been announced, and it looks INCREDIBLE: this fall, clear the road, air, and sea for the vehicle-focused Skylanders SuperChargers! As you know, we’re BIG Skylanders fans here, and as a family who’s played through the four previous chapters in the Skylanders adventure (the 2011 debut hit Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure & its sequels Skylanders Giants, Skylanders Swap Force, and Skylanders Trap Team), we’re thrilled to check out the latest additions to the franchise. But just what is Skylanders SuperChargers?

Releasing on September 20 of this year, Skylanders SuperChargers will focus on a brand new type of interactive Skylanders toy: vehicles! Yes, all of your favorite Skylanders (plus 20 new SuperChargers!) will be able to drive, dive, and fly across Skylands as they explore the world in twenty new land, water, and air vehicles. The cars (and planes, and submarines, and more!) each pair up with one of the new SuperCharger characters (like the Giants, Swap Force, and Trap Team characters that lent their names to previous games)– though any character can drive, when the vehicle and its matching SuperCharger are on the portal together, both will receive a supercharged upgrade, making them more powerful overall.

As always, the game will release with a Starter Pack featuring the new portal and three Skylanders figures– this year, those three figures are the trailblazing dune buggy Hot Streak, its partner SuperCharger (the robotic-looking flaming dragon Spitfire), and fan favorite Stealth Elf, who’s been given an upgrade to SuperCharger status as well! The game will also be available in a new digital Portal Owner’s Pack– similar to the Portal Owner’s Pack from Skylanders Giants, this new edition will allow you to use the previous game’s portal (in this case, the one from Skylanders Trap Team), but unlike the previous Portal Owner’s Pack, the Skylanders SuperChargers one will feature a digital download of the game rather than a physical disc, and digital versions of the starter pack characters as well.

Skylanders SuperChargers will be available on September 20, 2015 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, WiiU, Xbox 360, PS3, and iOS (and an alternate experience of the game will also be available on Wii and 3DS.) Valentine’s Day is creeping up fast. We’ll definitely be celebrating the big love day around here by playing one of our favorite games! You will not want to miss out on this awesome addition to the crew. Skylanders’ newest stud, Love Potion Pop Fizz!!!!! When his latest attempt to concoct the ultimate raspberry soda totally backfired, Love Potion Pop Fizz was caught in a blast that turned him pink and gave him an alluring aroma.  At least that’s how he tells it.  But with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the Skylanders are all wondering if Pop Fizz is telling the truth – or if there is a special someone that he’s trying to impress! This character is available for a limited time at major retailers for $14.99. Run!!!!!  Your family will definitely fall in love with  Love Potion Pop Fizz! We did!
