Skylanders Celebrates 5th Anniversary With Cake Masters Portal Cake! Skylanders “Cake Masters” Premiere Party- Watch Party!

If you are like my family you love Skylanders! From the moment Skylanders was first introduced to us- we fell in absolute love with the game, the characters and the portal! It’s hard to believe that Skylanders by Activision is celebrating their fifth anniversary. To kick of the celebration Duff Goldman of Cake Masters and his Hollywood crew took on the task of creating a one of a kind Skylanders  video game massive cake. Duff definitely surprised everyone with an epic Skylanders cake transformation that came to life before everyone’s eyes. The beloved kids video game franchise- @SkylandersGame, chose right when they enlisted the help of famed cake decorator Duff Goldman, to create a life sized, edible and playable cake. Yes, playable! There was a gigantic working portal in the middle of the cake!  The adventure was captured on camera for Duff’s newest show Cake Masters, that premiered on Food Network.

Since our gamer family has spent endless hours traveling through portals with our favorite Skylanders characters we could not help but join in the anniversary celebration with a Skylanders 5th Anniversary party of our own. Really, can you blame us? We started out with our own box of blueberry Duff cake box mix and created our own version of a Skylanders 5th Anniversary cake. Okay, so it was nothing in comparison to the Cake Masters, BUT it was delicious and there were no complaints at all.

skylanders4skylanders3If you love Skylanders you should definitely grab some party supplies and have a party of your own. You really don’t need a reason to celebrate. You can just have a Skylanders party with your favorite gamers! Cake and playing Skylanders is a perfect night in my eyes! Skylanders SuperChargers Races Onto the Scene This Fall!

The latest Skylanders game has been announced, and it looks INCREDIBLE: this fall, clear the road, air, and sea for the vehicle-focused Skylanders SuperChargers! We got a special look at the upcoming game at an exclusive event hosted by MomTrends and Activision– read on to learn everything there is to know about the newest installment in the Skylanders series!18413709972_73c73fc174_z

As you know, we’re BIG Skylanders fans here, and as a family who’s played through the four previous chapters in the Skylanders adventure (the 2011 debut hit Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure & its sequels Skylanders Giants, Skylanders Swap Force, and Skylanders Trap Team), we’re thrilled to check out the latest additions to the franchise. But just what is Skylanders SuperChargers?

Releasing on September 20 of this year, Skylanders SuperChargers will focus on a brand new type of interactive Skylanders toy: vehicles! Yes, all of your favorite Skylanders (plus 20 new SuperChargers!) will be able to drive, dive, and fly across Skylands as they explore the world in twenty new land, water, and air vehicles. The cars (and planes, and submarines, and more!) each pair up with one of the new SuperCharger characters (like the Giants, Swap Force, and Trap Team characters that lent their names to previous games)– though any character can drive, when the vehicle and its matching SuperCharger are on the portal together, both will receive a supercharged upgrade, making them more powerful overall.

As always, the game will release with a Starter Pack featuring the new portal and three Skylanders figures– this year, those three figures are the trailblazing dune buggy Hot Streak, its partner SuperCharger (the robotic-looking flaming dragon Spitfire), and fan favorite Stealth Elf, who’s been given an upgrade to SuperCharger status as well! The game will also be available in a new digital Portal Owner’s Pack– similar to the Portal Owner’s Pack from Skylanders Giants, this new edition will allow you to use the previous game’s portal (in this case, the one from Skylanders Trap Team), but unlike the previous Portal Owner’s Pack, the Skylanders SuperChargers one will feature a digital download of the game rather than a physical disc, and digital versions of the starter pack characters as well.

Skylanders SuperChargers will be available on September 20, 2015 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, WiiU, Xbox 360, PS3, and iOS (and an alternate experience of the game will also be available on Wii and 3DS.) My Valentine Just May Be Skylanders’ Newest Guy, Love Potion Pop Fizz and Skylanders Valentine Cards

Valentine’s Day is creeping up fast. We’ll definitely be celebrating the big love day around here by playing one of our favorite games! You will not want to miss out on this awesome addition to the crew. Skylanders’ newest stud, Love Potion Pop Fizz!!!!! When his latest attempt to concoct the ultimate raspberry soda totally backfired, Love Potion Pop Fizz was caught in a blast that turned him pink and gave him an alluring aroma.  At least that’s how he tells it.  But with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the Skylanders are all wondering if Pop Fizz is telling the truth – or if there is a special someone that he’s trying to impress! This character is available for a limited time at major retailers for $14.99. Run!!!!!  Your family will definitely fall in love with  Love Potion Pop Fizz! We did!
