Warm Up This Winter At Great Wolf Lodge @greatwolflodge

Winter At Great Wolf Lodge- A Perfect Place To Warm Up

GWLcabin

The winter freeze is definitely upon us. Although we do enjoy the snowy outdoor activities, we are also always in search of a cozy winter retreat. Luckily for us, Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos- less than two hours away from NYC is always there for us. Imagine enjoying an indoor water park with a view of the snowy mountains. It’s yours for the taking. One of our favorite family fun resorts is definitely Great Wolf. No matter that age of your children, from infants to adults, even the grandparents will have a blast. If you do visit, make sure you pack your swimsuit. Well, if you do forget, there is always one available at one of the shoppes.

Ten Things Our Family Loves About Great Wolf Lodge

1. You can choose your own activity level from reading a book in front of the fireplace in the Grand Lobby to swimming and water slides. It’s your call.

2. Magiquest and Shadowquest: What a fun game for all ages. The kids will love solving quests and moving on to different levels. Good Luck at the end if you go up against the dragon. He’s a tough one to beat, but there is always someone on hand from the Magiquest team to help you out, so don’t worry.

3. The Water park! Okay, so this one is definitely is my family’s favorite. We all love the wave pool, water slides and whirlpools. 84 degrees. Yes, please!

4. There are plenty of places to dine at the lodge. You do not have to leave to fill up the bellies. There are choices from buffets, Wolf It Down pizza, and more. Did I mention there is a Starbucks?

5. Story Hour is my daughter’s favorite. She loves watching the Clock Tower show followed by story time and then a character meet and greet. It is simply adorable. If you visit, don’t miss it.

6. The rooms are a world onto themselves. There is a huge variety of room styles to choose from. We love the loft with two floors of fun, and an in room fireplace and balcony. There are also rooms that tout bunk beds and their own kids’ cabin within the room.

7. There is a SPA within the lodge. One for adults and one for kids- Scooops Kids Spa. Enough said?

8. The Northern Lights arcade is a family fun spot for all of us. Everyone in our family has a blast between air hockey, skee ball, Deal or No Deal, and so many more choices.

9. The Staff! They are amazing. We visit the Poconos location and they are just top notch. No matter where you are in the lodge you can find a smiling face and someone to help or just brighten up your day. They are knowledgeable and willing to lend an extra hand.

10. Family time! With everyone on a different schedule it’s nice to get away, even for one night and just be together. The laughs are many and the memories we are making will last forever. Great Wolf Lodge cannot be beat for close to home family fun!

If your family is ready to warm up this winter, you should definitely check out Great Wolf Lodge.

See you there! Great Wolf Lodge

Kathy Griffin Wants A Tony-NYC

Kathy Griffin Wants A Tony
Belasco Theatre
111 West 44th Street
NYC
Last night hubby and I had a real treat! Thanks to
MommysLinks we had the opportunity to attend Kathy Griffin Wants A Tony! If you like Kathy Griffin you do not want to miss this chance to see her LIVE!
The show was hilarious. It started with a slide-show that rolled right into her on stage entry. From the minute she set foot on the stage to the second she stepped off, there was non-stop fun!
The laughter surrounded us as she “trashed” every celeb that you could think of! Kathy Griffin was on a story telling 2 hour roll. No one was safe. Some of my favorite fun included stories about Elisabeth from The View, Sarah Palin, Justin Bieber and on and on.

I have not laughed that much in a long time.
Every seat was filled and every person had a smile on their face.
Kathy Griffin was hilarious. If you are offended easily, I do not recommend this show. But, if you have a great sense of humor and don’t mind a little “trash” talk, you will really enjoy this! The only problem: The show ended too soon. Everyone wanted more!
I loved how “down to earth” Kathy Griffin was when she was on stage. I felt like I was back in high school and getting updated on ALL the gossip!

If you have a chance to see Kathy Griffin Wants A Tony, don’t miss it! Bring your camera, too! Kathy is very camera friendly!
Enjoy!

World Premiere: Pompeii The Exhibit Life And Death In the Shadow of Vesuvius

Pompeii
DTSX Times Square
“World Premiere of Pompeii The Exhibit
Life And Death In The Shadow of Vesuvius”
Discovery Times Square Exposition
Opens March 4, 2011
If you have a definite interest in Pompeii or want to learn more about it and experience Pompeii first hand, you will not want to miss this exhibit!
I was fortunate enough to be invited to a preview night for the new exhibit event at DTSX Times Square NYC the other night.
I personally love learning everything I can about Pompeii and cannot wait to be a part of the action!
The exhibit is very informative and very emotional.
Walking into the room of body casts from people and animals that were caught in their tracks when  Mt. Vesuvius erupted, covering Pompeii, Italy was overwhelming. The thought of all those poor people covered in ash. The body casts were amazing and I felt honored to be able to experience seeing them.  How wonderful that we now have a chance to see the artifacts that were left behind.
During Pompeii The Exhibit, you can experience first hand what Pompeii was like before and after Mt. Vesuvius made its mark.
Our audio guide was fantastic and a wonderful perk to the exhibit! It was great having two choices of numbers on the audio guide for “children” and “adults”. I loved it, since I was there with my 11 and 4 year old. They both we able to experience the exhibit, on their own level. They especially enjoyed the “closed space” movie where we were able to follow along watching the events of the day leading up to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius 2,000 years ago.
I also enjoyed reading the very long events timeline, spanning the length of the room!
The jewelry inside the display was wonderful, and there was plenty to choose from in the gift shoppe, as well as many other choices, including books, dvds, leather checkers, and more.

We all also enjoyed sampling two different waters inported from Italy. What a night! What a great exhibit!
You are not allowed to photograph inside of the display area. I was able to give a few sample pics from the gift shop area.
If you are in the NYC area, or planning a vacation to the area- do not miss Pompeii-The Exhibit! It is great for all ages and the experience is unforgettable!

Hershey Lodge! It’s Cozy Inside

Hershey Lodge-It’s Cozy Inside
It has a been an unusually cold winter, but don’t worry there is a place in Hershey,PA where it  is warm and cozy inside, the Hershey Lodge! My family has spent many years going to Hershey at different times of the year, but one of my favorite times to visit the Hershey Lodge is during Chocolate Covered February. What a perfect month to enjoy chocolate everywhere you look!

Our visit to the lodge started with a great feature: The Kids’ Check-In. The characters are right there in the lobby to meet and greet the children(and adults). There is a special desk for the children to check in and gather up some goodies-including a personalized lanyard, stickers, coloring sheets, crayons, little surprises, candy and even a candy guessing contest! That immediately gets everyone into the right frame of mind. The kids are happy, so everyone is happy!
Soon after checking in we all wanted to head to the indoor pool, whirlpool and game room.
It could not be any nicer. It was great to be in a nice warm pool and view all the snow surrounding us outside the windows! We knew right then, we were in the right place! Let the relaxing and fun begin! The duckies in the pool-bonus! It does not matter if you have children or not, you cannot help but enjoy the Hershey Lodge pool. If you visit in the summer, you can also enjoy a second outdoor pool!

After our swim and game play, including ping-pong, we headed to another one of the many lodge activities: Graham Cracker house building. What fun! Everything you need to make your house is supplied by the lodge, all you have to do is show up and have fun! Some other activities include:hotel crafts, pool games,  movies, Hershey kiss Bingo and more! Be prepared to plan so you can get in some real fun!
When it’s time for dinner you don’t have to worry about leaving Hershey Lodge. There are choices within the lodge for every taste. Our family favorite for dinner is The Bear’s Den. This restaurant is themed after the Hershey Bear’s hockey team and comes complete with “ice floor”(not real ice) and private tv’s within each booth! Can you say fun? Not only is it a great themed restaurant, the food is delicious and the popcorn is endless!
After dinner we spent some time in the lobby relaxing by the fireplace. We could not help but to get a nice cup of coffee at the Cocoa Beanery and then headed back to the room for a great night’s rest. Somewhere along the way, we picked up a Big Hershey Kiss and of course a kiss shaped balloon! It must have been our stop at the gift shop! We sure needed a rest after our action packed day at the lodge!
But, the fun was not over in the morning. We headed for a speciality breakfast held on certain weekends throughout the year. On our way into Lebbie Lebkicher’s we were greeted by the Hershey band playing some lively tunes! During breakfast, which I absoulately LOVE, we were surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries and fruits, choco chip pancakes, and even chocolate butter, chocolate everything! Of course, there were many other breakfast items, as well as a regular menu available. The people at Lebbie’s  and the lodge could not have been any nicer. Chef Andy even greeted us and made the rounds. Everyone in the room seemed satisfied! It was a real perk to have the Hershey characters going from table to table! It was a Chocolate dream come true!
If you are looking for a great resort to visit during any season, you should definitely consider the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA! It’s a great place for families, couples, friends and conventions!

LIVE with Regis and Kelly NYC

LIVE with Regis and Kelly NYC
Most mornings do not go by without my family tuning in for at least a few minutes to LIVE with Regis and Kelly on ABC! My three children have grown up with Regis as a household name, so when my tickets arrived for the show I knew two of them would be taken my by sons. Today we headed to ABC Studios on 67th Street and Columbus in NYC. We had to be there bright and early, around 7am to be checked in, cleared and given our physical tickets to the show.
By about 8:30am the audience members were taken into the studio and seated. We were lucky enough to get the center section and not too far back. The studio is very small, so it really does not matter where you sit. Today’s audience had about 150 people in it. Everyone that was age 18 and over was given a number on the way in, so they could participate in the drawing! While awaiting the beginning of the show, Michael Gelman(the producer) came out to greet everyone and give the studio audience some tips! Eventually everyone got the idea and just in time for the show to begin!
At exactly 9am, like magic, Regis and Kelly entered the LIVE studio and the audience went wild! Regis and Kelly have a way of bringing a smile onto everyone’s face. The energy in the audience was unbelievable and the fun just went on and on. During each and every commercial break Regis and Kelly greeted, talked to, and had fun with the audience. They were very open to everyone’s questions and conversations.
LIVE with Regis and Kelly always has on some interesting guests. Today’s guests included William H. Macy and another couple from the World’s Greatest Love Story. They were both great to hear from. William H. Macy’s clip from Shameless was super!
After the show we were lucky enough to have a meet and greet with Regis and Kelly. They could not have been any nicer, hugs included!
If you are in the NYC area or plan on visiting you can request free tickets by mailing your request at least 3 months in advance to:
