Our family loves to travel and we love Halloween, so visiting Hershey Park this past weekend was a natural choice. Every year Hershey Park celebrates Halloween with “non-scare” fun for all ages. Hershey Park in the Dark is open weekends through the end of October. Last weekend our family packed up and headed to Hershey Lodge for a few days of fun. If you already like Hershey Park, you definitely should check out Hershey Park in the Dark. If you are looking for some scares, this is not for you.

We were pleased to find out that thirteen coasters, The Thrilling Thirteen, were open and ready to go! Since my older sons are so obsessed with coasters this was a biggie for us! They were beyond thrilled to find out that Laff TrakkSM, WildcatSM, CometSM, and Lightning RacersSM  would ALL be in the dark, LIGHTS-OUT!! The only one I rode was Laff Trakk and it was SO much fun in the dark!! But, it was really dark- that was such a cool experience! If you go to Hershey Park you definitely want to check it out!

In all there were about fifty rides and attractions open! We totally lucked out with the weather, too! So we stayed from opening until closing of the park the day we visited. If you do by tickets please remember that your tickets are good for a preview night for a few hours the night before! That will give you time to get a bit of a park preview and even catch a ride or two!

HParkCandyTrail

As for my daughter, she was just in heaven when she hit the new Trick-Or-Treat trail. The new Treatvilled has thirteen candy locations including Hershey Park, Zoo America and Hershey Hollow- Chocolate World. She was glad to still have a few years left before the cut off of twelve years old. You can pick up a treat bag at Hershey’s Chocolate World, Hershey Park or Zoo America.  She was a good sport and did share the goods with her two brothers! Of course, in addition, we did have quite a candy haul to keep everyone happy.

Throughout the park we were so excited to find Halloween and Fall themed foods! There were pumpkin funnel cakes, S’mores, lots of  s’mores choices, and a King-Sized pumpkin milkshake! The pumpkin milkshake comes complete with a piece of pumpkin roll cake right on top of it. Leave extra time if you want any of these treats. The lines were long to get them.

You might even find a band of misfit mummies performing as you walk around. On of our favorite activities was the Characters Dance Glow Party! This was so much fun for everyone that attended. The night we were there it started at 7:30. As we arrived the area was packed with people dancing with the Hershey’s characters. They were as nice as could be and could not wait to dance with the kids and take pictures! Did I mention that the characters were decked out with glow tubes and costumes. So much fun! HParkGloKiss HParkGloHersheyBarZooAmerica was also included with your ticket into Hershey Park! Please don’t forget to bring your own flashlight so you can tour Creatures Of The Night when you go. We could see the glow of flashlights from different areas of the park the night we were there.

MAD MOVES™ BOOGIES TO KICKSTARTER

Toy Industry Phenom Ashley Mady To Launch An Insanely Fun Party Game

Our family is all about games! We love to spend time together having fun and just having some laughs. Although I have not played this game yet, I honestly cannot wait to get the chance. It looks like fun for everyone involved! I will keep you updated on it!! Get up, get down and go low, as in, limbo, with Mad Moves™, a brand new insanely fun party game that gets players off the couch and laughing together as they dance out hilarious mad moves! Toy industry veteran Ashley Mady imagined hundreds of combinations from a monkey doing the twist to a tap dancing robot to a T-Rex performing ballet; Mad Moves combines popular dance moves with an animal, action or person; put together for an outrageous party game that will have the masses in stitches. The best part is, no dance experience is required.

The Mad Moves launched on Kickstarter October 3rd. Mady, founder and president of brand licensing agency and think tank  Brandberry, Inc.  grew up dancing. For her, this endeavor is the confluence of three of her favorite things — dance, toy design and making people laugh and smile. “Like many young girls, I started dance classes at an early age and it continued as a large part of my life growing up. The idea that I could develop a game that gets people out of their chairs, moving and laughing is incredibly exciting,” Mady explained. Click here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kickashmady

Ashley Mady

Designed for ages six to 100, and three or more players, Mad Moves is easy to play, pure fun and perfect for family game night or a group of friends. Players spin and draw a corresponding category card, which include different actions, animals and people, and are used in charades style guessing games and dance battles. Everyone will know the dance — ballet, twist, tap dance or limbo — but it’s up to the cardholder to interpret the dance with the category. No talking either! Hilarity ensues when grandma has to limbo like a zombie or your cousin has to twist like a snake!  The first person who guesses the category correctly wins the card, with the object to win the most category cards.  There are 300+ Mad Moves to create.

 There are also special cards:

  • Tomato Cards are thrown when no one is able to guess what category card is being held.  In other words, the players Mad Moves need some major help! Tomato cards cancel out category cards; you don’t want them!
  • Freeze Dance cards keep players on their toes. If you pick one up, you must strike a pose and scream ‘freeze dance’! The last person to mimic you and freeze in your pose gets a tomato!
  • Dance Battle cards catapult game play into a memory competition that goes back and forth. First, pick a person to battle. Do a move and the person you are battling copies the first move and adds one more; then you add a third move, and so on.  It continues until someone messes up. Moves should correspond to the theme of the card you pick up Ex: Dance Battle like a Cowboy could include riding a horse, lasso swinging, gun shooting, etc.

There’s also a Midnight Spinner, sold separately, to take the dance party to the next level of hilarity. This spinner includes: booty dance, belly dance, breakdance, shimmy and dance battle. Mady began her career at one of the largest toy companies in the industry, working on hit properties and proprietary brands. As an agent, she has succeeded in reinvigorating and brokering deals for established brands and entertainment properties. She has also built/launched countless new brands and creations from the ground up. To give back to the industry, she serves as President of Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT), the global networking organization for professional women working in the toy, licensing and entertainment industries.  Mad Moves marks Mady’s first kickstarter campaign.

Mad Moves is igniting a dance party across social media with fans posting laugh-out-loud concoctions!  Follow Mad Moves online on FacebookTwitterInstagram and www.mymadmoves.com.

Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events.
