Unusual Litter Mates Being Raised Together at Six Flags @SFGrAdventure #NJ

Unusual Litter Mates Being Raised Together at Six Flags Great Adventure: Adorable Tiger and Lion Cubs!Cub closeupTo me there is nothing more adorable than lion and tiger cubs! Recently, I was introduced to two little cubs that are just too cuddly for words. Spots and stripes have taken over the nursery at Six Flags Great Adventure’s safari as the veterinary team welcomes a Siberian tiger cub, the first tiger birth at the safari in 13 years, and an African lion cub. What makes the situation so unique is that for the first time, the team is hand raising the two fuzzy, female “big cats” as one litter, despite being two species that would typically never meet in the wild as they are native to different continents.Dr Keiffer feeding tiger cub“Within a week, two first-time mothers gave birth to healthy cubs but failed to care for them, so we stepped in,” said Dr. Ken Keiffer, a Six Flags veterinarian. The lion was born Nov. 19 and weighed 3 lbs., and the tiger followed on Thanksgiving and weighed 2.4 lbs. The Six Flags veterinary team became surrogate mothers to the cubs, feeding them up to six times each day. According to Keiffer, the two are doing very well and have yet to be named.  “Raising the cubs together helps to develop their socialization skills, and will enhance their chances of being successfully introduced to their own species at the safari when they are a bit older,” Keiffer said.Cubs cuddlingThe cats play, eat and snuggle together, and are also learning to find their voices and personalities. According to Keiffer, the lion cub is much more relaxed while the tiger cub is far more dominant and vocal. Siberian tigers are on the endangered species list, and tigers rank as the world’s largest living cats. Approximately 3,200 are estimated to live in the wild. The new cub is the fifth Siberian tiger at the safari. African lions are the second largest living cat in the world, number less than 19,000 in the wild and are now being protected under the endangered species act, said safari Director and Chief Veterinarian Bill Rives. Several healthy African lion cubs have been born in the Six Flags safari during the last few years, and the new cub is the 20th lion at the safari. https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure

Star Wars: The Force Awakens #StarWars #TheForceAwakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Review

starwarsreviewThe Star Wars movies have always been a big part of my life. From loving the movies myself, to raising my children on the films, I have always considered myself to be a Star Wars mega-fan. I had extremely high hopes for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the newest movie in the franchise, and I can honestly say that my expectations were blown away by the film!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an incredible movie that blends together what everyone loves from the classic films with amazing new ideas. New characters such as Finn and Rey, the protagonists of the film, and Kylo Ren, the Darth-Vader obsessed villain, fit perfectly into the Star Wars universe, and it was great to see them share screen time with fan-favorites like General Leia and Han Solo.
The Force Awakens shares the same heart and rich storytelling with the Star Wars movies that we all know and love. Each of the characters that are new for The Force Awakens bring something special to the film. I absolutely loved the movie, and I cannot wait to see what’s coming up next for Star Wars!

Have You Seen Daddy’s Home? You Need To!! #DaddysHome @daddyshome

Daddy’s Home In Theaters Now! You Need To See This Movie, It’s Hilarious!!

daddyshomedianeLooking for a movie that will crack your family up? Grab your friends or your kids and head to the movies. You are not going to miss this one! Paramount Pictures- Daddy’s Home is the newest movie starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, featuring plenty of laughs and a story with a lot of heart. In the movie, Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) is the step-father of a family where the children are just starting to appreciate him. Then, their biological father, Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg) comes back into their lives. This event starts the ultimate rivalry between the two characters, and makes for a very interesting movie. Watch as dad vs. stepdad in this hilarious way too believable movie.

Throughout the film, Brad and Dusty compete to see who is the better father. The two characters constantly try to upstage each other, and this provides for some very comedic moments throughout the film. The movie’s supporting cast is also consistently funny, with actors such as Hannibal Buress and Thomas Haden Church delivering hilarious one-liners. This is one of the best comedies that I have seen recently.

Overall, Daddy’s Home is an extremely enjoyable movie. Seeing the movie in the same theater as Will Ferrel definitely had its perks. Turning around and seeing his family laughing along with the rest of us made it even funnier. I enjoyed seeing the movie with my family, as my two sons and I loved it. It’s pretty much safe for kids to see with you.  Rated PG13- In theaters now.

January on Netflix! Something For Everyone In Your Family! @Netflix #StreamTeam

There Is Something For Everyone In The Family This January On Netflix!

netflixjanwhoswatching

Happy January! One thing I absolutely love about Netflix is that everyone has their own privacy and choices. Unlike “On Demand” the kids are not shown show choices that are way out of their age range as they are searching for a show they want to watch. I also love how my choices are my choices and are saved. My hubby and older kids have their own choices and their own shows saved. It’s like utopia for me!

So when the new year rolled along everyone in this family was curious to see exactly what Netflix would have in store for us. Some of us love terror, others just want to laugh and some of us love ponies and Barbie…. There is A LOT in the works for this month!! We also love Netflix originals!

netflixjan1

netflixjan4S0, whatever you are into, Netflix is there for you! As for us we will be enjoying Netflix on our new Roku TV! Thanks for the awesomeness, Netflix. I can’t even begin to imagine life without you. Happy January! As for this January, our family will be taking the plunge into the unknown, we’ll be taking chances, like our favorite family, The Croods! Very soon our family is taking our yearly SKI TRIP, it’s kinda out of my own comfort zone, even though everyone else in the family counts it down. So, although I was once pretty good visiting Snowtown, I’m not sure how it’s going to go down this year. I will definitely keep you posted on the new adventure! I kinda feel like maybe they won’t let me join the team and I will have to make a team of my own….like in the pic below! Maybe I will just hang out in the lodge with some hot cocoa and my Netflix tablet. Okay, Okay, You know I won’t! I am always part of #TeamFamily So wish me luck, or maybe, wish my family luck! Here’s to taking new adventures! Do you have any new adventures you will be testing out this year? By the way, WHAT is your favorite Netflix show??
