Netflix Helped Us To Ring In The New Year!

Netflix has been a daily household name for the past two years. Honestly, I’m not sure what we even watched before we were introduced to Netflix! Being on the Stream Team has and is an amazing experience for our entire family. Just before New Year’s Eve a surprise box arrived from Netflix filled with goodies to help us celebrate the New Year in style and at whatever time we wanted, as posted previously. This year Netflix offered six different countdowns that could be shared with your little ones at any time of the night. Although everyone here makes it till the midnight hour we did have fun watching all of them and countdown in anticipation of 12:00 am!

As soon as our box of fun arrived, so did the fun! My daughter took it upon herself to be the official balloon blower upper! She was quite amazing at it if I do say so myself. She came up with a super idea- which was to decorate our Christmas tree with Netflix balloons, little signs of her favorite shows, streamers, blowers, etc. It looks pretty festive by the time it was done. We all loved it. Next we spruced up the kitchen table with our favorite show posters, more balloons and some choices for all of the family to party with. We even broke out the light up punch bowl and created, “Puffin Punch”! It was delicious and was a combo of juices and some fizzy waters! A perfect way to celebrate.netflixtablenetflixfountain

 

We also came up with a special Netflix dessert, “Project MC2 Test Tube ice cream cake sundae”. Okay, it was New Year’s Eve so any idea or recipe sounded good to me! Not to mention that it all kept with the Netflix party theme. My daughter also deemed the blowers to be Care Bear Cousins blowers, since they came in various colors!

netflixlivpartySo after we watched all six countdowns on Netflix we were more than well rehearsed when the big countdown finally arrived at 11:59pm! In our living room that I’m sure is as big as some people’s pocketbook, we partied, we laughed, we smooched, and we celebrated as a family. From the parents (us), to grandpa who’s 89, to all the kids and one girlfriend we had one of the best New Year’s Eve parties to date! Our family always has an awesome time when PBR comes around. Everyone in our little tribe loves cheering along for our fav riders! With the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) 2015 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) season bucking down the homestretch, talk of the 2016 season has begun with premier events going on sale in October. The 2016 Built Ford Tough Series will kick off in the Windy City, playing Chicago’s Allstate Arena on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9-10.  On Jan. 15-17, the tour will celebrate its 10th anniversary in New York City at Madison Square Garden. New York City will be the first PBR Major of the 2016 BFTS and an opportunity for one talented PBR star to separate himself from the pack with the bonus points and extra prize money that comes with winning a Major.

Anyone that knows our family knows how much we love to spend time together! We love looking for places to go that appeals to our span of ages in the family. The Harlem Globetrotters delivers! Everyone in the family loves them. What is more fun than watching this basketball sensation of a team work their magic right before your very eyes. This year our New Year’s Day will be spent as a family at Prudential Center belly laughing to the fun of the Globies celebrating their 90th, yes 90th Anniversary!! I’m not surprised. In addition the world famous team announced, “The Great Assist” program to help local communities. The Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating 90 years of providing smiles, sportsmanship and service to millions of people worldwide, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters will bring their unrivaled family show to Prudential Center on January 1, 2016 at 3 p.m. during their 90th Anniversary World Tour. The Globetrotters have been a family show staple in Newark since 2009. In support of the 2014 Globetrotters season, Prudential Center and the Globetrotters teamed up to surprise the students of Newark’s North Star Academy to play a pick-up basketball game with two Globetrotters and Prudential Center senior executives.
