To me there is nothing more magical than a bubble. It just seems to make everyone smile. It’s ageless and it seems that few people can resist the beauty of a bubble. Maybe it connects us parents to our childhood days or maybe it’s just watching the pure joy it gives to our own children. Where there are bubbles there are smiles. There were definitely plenty of bubbles at the Gazillion Bubble Show in New York City. The Gazillion Bubble Show is held at New World Stages on 50th Street, NYC. The show is perfect for any age.

GazillionBubBubbleOur show was hosted by Deni Yang, who was a wonderful bubble artist since the age of four. His parents were the original Gazillion Bubble Show hosts in other cities where the show still takes place. Deni Yang took us through his life and love for bubbles, showing us many different ways of making bubbles happen. The show featured bubbles-big and small, bubbles inside of bubbles, smoke bubbles and more.

My daughter was beyond thrilled to be chosen to participate in the show. She was called on stage and put inside of a giant bubble. I doubt she will ever forget that moment of fame. She was also presented with her very own Gazillion Bubble prize. During the show a total of five children are chosen to come on stage. If your child is not chosen, don’t worry, there is an opportunity both before and after the show to take a picture inside of a bubble. There is also a mini gift shop in the theater lobby filled with many Gazillion Bubble choices. The prices are reasonable for the bubbles ranging from $4.00 and up.

During the show Deni Yang told different stories of his life and created bubbles that not even your imagination could begin to think of. Children of all ages and adults alike were in awe of all the spectacular bubble acts!, I personally loved when a little girl was taken on the stage and a story was told of  Deni’s cousin in Hawaii who dreamed of snow. Since there is no snow in Hawaii he created a wonderful snowland for her out of bubbles. In just a few seconds of dimming the lights and bringing them back up, the stage was transformed into a bubble paradise. There were bubbles everywhere. I can’t even imagine what it must have been like for Deni’s cousin to experience this wonderful sight. What a dream come true. I wish I could have provided more pictures but they have a very strict photo policy and I did have to put my cell away more than once. 🙁 I really wish I could have at least gotten a pic of Emily on the stage-Maybe they should have a photographer grab it for future shows. It’s definitely something that would have been a momento.

As a bonus, Deni Yang preformed a breathtaking lazer act. The music was wonderful and the audience was filled with enthusiam! The show was definitely upbeat and the audience was completely taken by the magic of bubble blowing and the energy of the lazer light show. My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games!

In our house My Little Pony and Equestria Girls are just a normal daily part of conversations. I guess that’s how it is when your tween is basically over the moon for anything MLP! Well, as a mom I have to admit that I adore those little ponies myself. Yes, I have learned all their names and their cutie marks- something that I never thought would be mastered. So, when Em and I heard about the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games coming out this Fall we were both super excited! The fun will continue as our favorites journey through high school with the Mane 6 in this alternate My Little Pony universe. 
Now for some super duper news! When it comes to Pixar movies the one that surprised me the most was Inside Out! I definitely was not expecting to have to use the popcorn napkins to dry the tears dripping from both of my eyes throughout the movie! Wooza! So, just when I have finally gotten over it, here comes the Inside Out short- Riley’s First Date! Having my own tween daughter at home really makes me hang onto every single second of hope that she will never lose her core memories, especially  Goofball Island! Pixar Animation Studios heads back inside the mind with an all-new short. “Riley’s First Date?” made its world premiere this afternoon at D23 EXPO 2015.

Director Josh Cooley, along with “Inside Out” filmmakers Pete Docter (“Up,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and Jonas Rivera (“Up”), introduced the short, which revisits Riley, now 12, who is hanging out with her parents at home when potential trouble comes knocking. Mom’s and Dad’s Emotions find themselves forced to deal with “Riley’s First Date?” The short will be included as a bonus feature in the digital HD & Blu-ray releases of Disney·Pixar’s “Inside Out,” which will be available digitally Oct. 13 and on Blu-ray Nov. 3, 2015.

Netflix and August Are Perfect Together!

So here we are, August! We all knew it was coming. In our house August is a time to get all the summer homework done that has been laying around since the last day of school. It’s a time for us to rush around getting all the Fall things ready and a time to do all the things on the Summer list before the winds of Fall set in. Of course with saying that there is also plenty of time for Netflix. It’s our perfect goto in the car for those long rides and it’s our definite goto for long check out lines in the store. Of course at home we love Netflix, too! Sometimes I wonder why I even bother paying for cable stations. Well, with saying that- there are always plenty of choices with Netflix. Since the kids in our family range from post college to elementary school, thank goodness for personalized accounts! Check out our “Something For Everyone” below! Happy August. Winter At Great Wolf Lodge- A Perfect Place To Warm Up

The winter freeze is definitely upon us. Although we do enjoy the snowy outdoor activities, we are also always in search of a cozy winter retreat. Luckily for us, Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos- less than two hours away from NYC is always there for us. Imagine enjoying an indoor water park with a view of the snowy mountains. It’s yours for the taking. One of our favorite family fun resorts is definitely Great Wolf. No matter that age of your children, from infants to adults, even the grandparents will have a blast. If you do visit, make sure you pack your swimsuit. Well, if you do forget, there is always one available at one of the shoppes.

Ten Things Our Family Loves About Great Wolf Lodge

1. You can choose your own activity level from reading a book in front of the fireplace in the Grand Lobby to swimming and water slides. It’s your call.

2. Magiquest and Shadowquest: What a fun game for all ages. The kids will love solving quests and moving on to different levels. Good Luck at the end if you go up against the dragon. He’s a tough one to beat, but there is always someone on hand from the Magiquest team to help you out, so don’t worry.

3. The Water park! Okay, so this one is definitely is my family’s favorite. We all love the wave pool, water slides and whirlpools. 84 degrees. Yes, please!

4. There are plenty of places to dine at the lodge. You do not have to leave to fill up the bellies. There are choices from buffets, Wolf It Down pizza, and more. Did I mention there is a Starbucks?

5. Story Hour is my daughter’s favorite. She loves watching the Clock Tower show followed by story time and then a character meet and greet. It is simply adorable. If you visit, don’t miss it.

6. The rooms are a world onto themselves. There is a huge variety of room styles to choose from. We love the loft with two floors of fun, and an in room fireplace and balcony. There are also rooms that tout bunk beds and their own kids’ cabin within the room.

7. There is a SPA within the lodge. One for adults and one for kids- Scooops Kids Spa. Enough said?

8. The Northern Lights arcade is a family fun spot for all of us. Everyone in our family has a blast between air hockey, skee ball, Deal or No Deal, and so many more choices.

 

9. The Staff! They are amazing. We visit the Poconos location and they are just top notch. No matter where you are in the lodge you can find a smiling face and someone to help or just brighten up your day. They are knowledgeable and willing to lend an extra hand.

10. Family time! With everyone on a different schedule it’s nice to get away, even for one night and just be together. The laughs are many and the memories we are making will last forever. Great Wolf Lodge cannot be beat for close to home family fun!
