Kicks Off Sept 19th! Biggest, Scariest Fright Fest in History Unearthed at Six Flags Great Adventure

Biggest, Scariest Fright Fest in History Unearthed at Six Flags Great Adventure

frightfest7

Okay, in my eyes it is never ever too early to start celebrating Halloween. There are not enough weekends in October so I was just thrilled to find out that Six Flags Great Adventure kicks off Fright Fest Saturday Sept. 19th! Six Flags Great Adventure promises its biggest, scariest Fright Fest in history this fall with 22 Halloween-themed attractions including three new haunts and four new shows. The seven-week festival that features family-friendly Thrills by Day and a zombie-filled Fright by Night  runs weekends through Nov. 1 and includes admission to some of the world’s best and most terrifying thrill rides. “Fright Fest has become the most popular time of the year at Great Adventure, and this year’s event is our largest and scariest yet,” said Park President John Fitzgerald. “Fall is also the perfect time to enjoy our award-winning thrill rides like El Toro, Kingda Ka, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom and the new El Diablo in the crisp night air.”

By day, families can enjoy the new Spooky, Kooky Magic Show featuring the zany Doc Swan, and Just My Rottin’ Luck, a new comedic juggling and magic show. Back by popular demand, children under 12 can gather sweet treats in the Trick-or-Treat Trail and join in the fun at the Spooktacular Street Party. Families can also experience the park’s famous line-up of thrills for all ages, including the Safari Off Road Adventure, SkyScreamer, Skull Mountain and more.

Beware! At 6 pm, the festival transitions to Fright by Night as 200 zombies are released into the midways during The Awakening. An array of crazy clowns, mutants and angry flesh eaters mingle among mortals throughout five themed areas known as “scare zones,” three haunted houses and four outdoor terror trails. New this season:

Big Top Terror 3-D – This new, indoor haunted maze transports guests to a forgotten carnival trapped in the netherworld, where freaks and inbred horrors need fresh, new souls to escape. This 3-D, in-your-face adventure blurs the line between reality and imagination.

Demon District – Ugly, twisted villains have seized control in this new scare zone. Guests must make their way through a blanket of fog, laser lights and demons running amok.

Blood Shed – This new terror trail features half-human, half-pig mutants in a backwoods adventure through a gory slaughter farm.

Nighttime shows, known as “monstertainment,” provide thrills, laugher, shock and awe. The iconic Dead Man’s Party, The Awakening and Circus of Thrills return by popular demand. New this season:

Hypnosteria – Comic hypnotist Denny More takes guests on a journey of the mind into the realm of ridiculous with side-splitting laughter and hilarious antics.

Doc Swan’s Sideshow of Oddities – Magician, illusionist and freak show master Doc Swan thrills and awes audiences with amazing feats of skill and superhuman strength.

Bad Bob the Bone Butcher – Guest can journey to the Wild West where a bumbling sheriff and his deputy try to defeat the evil Bad Bob.

All scare zones and monstertainment are included with park admission. Terror trails and haunted houses require an additional fee. Fright by Night is not recommended for children under 12 and those who scare easily.

Spooktacular Events

On Sept. 19, Six Flags hosts the Central Jersey Blood Center for its annual Fright Fest Blood Drive.  Guests can donate a pint of blood to earn a free ticket to Fright Fest between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Reservations must be made by visiting www.sixflags.com/greatadventure on the Events tab.  Up to 200 donors are needed and will be taken on a first call, first serve basis. Donors must be 16 years of age or older, at least 110 lbs. and in good health to donate.

Six Flags will hold its final Fright Fest zombie audition and technician call Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. in the park’s Employment Center. Scare-actors and support staff are needed to fill remaining positions from the undead who roam the midways to terror trail performers and technicians. No prior acting or scare experience is necessary, just individuals with a passion for Halloween and scaring. Auditions include several fun acting exercises in a group setting. If interested, please complete the pre-employment application prior to attending the open audition, or scheduling an interview for technician positions, atwww.sixflagsjobs.com

Six Flags Great Adventure will host the 9th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Oct. 4 – New Jersey’s largest 5k run/walk.  The day honors breast cancer survivors, those lost, and unites a community in the fight against breast cancer.  In 2014, approximately 10,000 participants and spectators turned out to support the Race for the Cure.  For more information, visit www.sixflags.com/greatadventure.

You Are Invited to Experience NBC Blindspot This Weekend in NYC

My_Heroes_Poster

Recently fans of NBC’s Heroes Reborn were invited to an extra special interactive experience in Times Square NYC. Although my daughter is a little young for the show, she still had an amazing time partnering with me for the green screen experience that landed us on a giant billboard in Times Square. Just before we were treated to a 4D virtual reality interactive show where our super powers were revealed and then used to help out in an actual Heroes Reborn scene. Pure Awesomeness! My super power was fire power as shown above in the photo.

Tim Kring (Creator/Executive Producer) , who originally  imagined NBC’s 2006 “Heroes” series, we now can look forward to,”Heroes Reborn,” an epic 13-episode event series that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. The premiere will be September 24- Thursdays at 8 pm. What’s your super power? Check out more about Heroes Reborn here: http://www.nbc.com/heroes-reborn

Now, here is some awesome news!! There is another great celebration going on this weekend in NYC! I’m sure by this time you have heard about NBC Blindspot. Personally, I just cannot wait for this one. If you don’t know about it here is a quick synopsis- A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity. I’m SO hooked!! http://www.nbc.com/blindspot

So, this weekend you are invited to be a part of the NBC Blindspot experience. Saturday and Sunday, Sept 18 & 19th you can feel what it is like to wake up in Times Square covered with tattoos. The Blindspot experience will green screen you into a tattooed body and then share your pic on the billboard. Get the cameras and phones ready. You are not going to want to miss a pic of yourself on the gigantic Times Square Blindspot billboard. You can catch the Premiere of NBC Blindspot on September 21- Mondays at 10 pm.

Blindspot

You’re Invited!- NBC Takes Times Square

Location: Times Square – Pedestrian Plaza – Broadway between 46th & 47th Streets

Dates/Times: September 19 from 11am-8pm / September 20 from 11am-8pm

Experience: Pedestrians will have the chance to partake in a photo opportunity where their head will be placed on a fully tattooed body, similar to “Blindspot” character Jane Doe. These photos will be featured on the massive Times Square digital billboard, as well as be printed for each individual and shared socially. An on-site tattoo bar will give out temporary half-sleeve “Blindspot” tattoos as well. Finally, 10 fully tattooed Jane Doe look-alikes will be walking around Times Square handing out temporary tattoos to promote awareness for the series.

Shopping at Target Just Got Easier: Curbside Pickup with Curbside App

curbsidetrunk

We have all been there. You need to run into Target for something but just do not have the time. It takes time to get there, park, walk around, browse, chase the kids around in the toy department- when you know exactly what you are going in to buy. Of course if you are me you walk around so much you have everything in the shopping cart except what you went to the store for in the first place.  If this sounds like you, I have discovered the perfect solution- Curbside App!

curbsidesign
With Curbside, a new mobile app that allows shoppers to order from Target from their phone and swing by the store to pick up their order without having to get out of the car, those days are gone. Yep, their goods are waiting for them by the curb when they arrive (hence the name Curbside). The Curbside app is free, there’s no mark up in pricing and shoppers no longer have to battle the parking wars, the mob scene finding items on shelves and the never-ending checkout lines. It’ll make running errands and doing your upcoming holiday shopping about as easy as possible!

curbsidekart

We tested out Curbside at Target this past weekend at the Target on 14th Street in Jersey City, NJ and I must say, I LOVED it! Our family was going to an event near target and usually afterwards we end up in Target for too long!! So I downloaded the Curbside Free App and gave it test run. SO easy! I needed to grab some paper products and school snacks and Curbside made it super easy. I simply checked them off on the app and paid for it. We received a text to tell us the order was ready for pick up- drove by and picked it up!!! It was that easy! There were plenty of signs directing us to Curbside Pickup. We arrived, gave our name, our bags were waiting and put into the trunk for us. Bravo Curbside App and Target! Cannot wait to use it again….and again…

I’m also super excited to be able to share a great code with you! Just enter THREEKIDS into the promocode at the end and you can take TEN dollars off of your $20 or more order!!! Waaaahoooo!!! Enjoy!! I already know you will love Curbside App. Even if you don’t completely buy into it and want to go into Target, you can give it a try and take the TEN bucks off of your order.
