Disney Floral and Gifts Mickey’s Halloween Celebration!

Disney Floral and Gifts Spooktactular Mickey’s Halloween In Room Celebration Is A Must Do For All!

Halloween is hands down one of our family’s favorite holidays. We all love fall and we just love Halloween. Although we are not huge into the gore, we are obsessed with all things spooky friendly. Recently on our venture to Walt Disney World we had the pleasure of attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. It’s a night that is certainly filled with fun for the family and Magical Spookiness that only Disney can come up with to entertain the entire family.

As if going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was not enough to get us into the Halloween spirit when we returned home to our resort room at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas a huge surprise awaited our family. Now, I have to say up front that I knew the surprise was coming, but had no idea exactly what was arriving from Disney Floral and Gifts. So, although I knew, I really didn’t know exactly what to expect. Last year our family was surprised with Mickey’s In Room Celebration and we could not stop talking about it. This year was a surprise beyond my wildest Halloween dreams!

So here goes the story. As our family neared the room Emily was the first one to spot the personalized Halloween door banner. I think right at that moment the family knew what it meant. Could there be a magical surprise behind the door. Considering spooky cobwebs and light up eyes greeted us it was safe to say that we all could not wait to open that door! The video I placed below is our reaction video so please forgive me for the darkness and all of the “reactions” as we made our way through the room. I thought it was a perfect video of finding surprise after surprise! I think you are going to love it!

We opened the door and everyone pretty much gasped! Our room had been transformed into a spooktacular surprise. As we entered the room we could see shadows of Mickey bats on the walls and lanterns illuminating the path adorned by many glittery bats on the floor. We followed them to the table where a cobwebbed flickering candelabra shone over a note from Mickey Mouse himself. He told us to explore the room and have fun discovering all of the surprises he left us. Wow, Mickey! Being huge Haunted Mansion fans, we were thrilled by this sight. It was like we walked into one of the Haunted Mansion rooms! The candelabra was incredible!

(Look at Emily’s face in this picture. I only noticed it later that you can see her in the mirror!!)

Looking around we could see spooky eyes peering at us from the mirrors, but all of us were drawn to the center of the room where a bigger than life sized Mickey Mouse sat in a glow in the dark Boo-sket surrounded by light up necklaces, tattoos and treats! Later we discovered that the basket was also filled with treats galore. But there was more, much more. It’s so hard to describe the feeling that all of this gave us. It was overwhelming. It gave some of us chills just to look around and see cobwebs coming from everywhere. They were even in the kitchen area and draped over the sink making a perfect haunting experience.

My husband called our attention to the couch area. Wow, just wow! There were three Halloween orange blankets personalized with black bats and names! And Haunted Mansion hitchhiking ghost treats all over the place! There was also a personalized Mickey pumpkin Halloween pillowcase for Emily. The poem on it was so adorable and it definitely made for the most magical night’s sleep ever. Emily also noticed the cards that were placed all over. They each had different messages and games on the back. The next day we spent playing them and answering some of the trivia that was part of it.

But that wasn’t the end. There was a chair covered with cobwebs! A little secret I will let you in on is that our family loves Halloween cobwebs! Our living room at home and kitchen get a total cobweb makeover around Halloween time, so this was a big hit with us! The chair was filled with Haunted Mansion themed goodies, tattoos, Glow in the dark Haunted Mansion playing cards, Haunted Mansion candies and a matching second pillowcase for Emily. Lucky Emily! There were also magical potion balloons all over the place!

Now if you think our fun was over, just hold on a few more minutes. The entire experience was  so hard to process. It was also a night I wish I could have just frozen in time. I’m so glad that I have our reaction video to look back on.  As if all of this was not already enough, there were two additional gift baskets that I absolutely loved! One was filled with games and treats, The Ghouls and Ghosts Night In! If you are a Haunted Mansion fan you will definitely want to check this out. It includesd a Disney Parks Haunted Mansion game of Life and game of Clue and treats to enjoy while you play! Beyond incredible! Although I really wanted to leave them unopened until we arrived at home, but somehow the next morning after breakfast we ended up playing both of them!

The second gift basket was my favorite and perfect for hubby and me! I am a total Disney Villains fan every since forever. I have to tell you that when I saw this gift basket I was just about in tears. I had seen it on the Disney Floral and Gifts site and loved it! I was planning to drop a few hints to hubby about maybe surprising me with it someday. BUT there it was right in front of me. It was like someone knew how much I loved  the Disney Villains! A Disney’s Villains Indulgance Gift Basket includes two Disney Villains exclusive stemmed goblets! Enough said? It also has a matted illustration by Disney artist Charles Wissig of all of my favorites and their signatures! ( It’s already hanging up in our house!) Of course there was some bubbly to spill into those incredible goblets and I may have just saved the best for last. The gift set also included a hand made chocolate box adorned with the Disney Villains on top and filled with handmade chocolates inside. Mine! Mine! Mine! I’m rarely selfish and most times my kids and hubby claim all of the surprises, but this time it was something I absolutely would not share! Update- Of course I shared! I really need to get better at the word, No. But, how could I not share. They were so delicious!

If you are heading to the Disney Resorts and looking for the perfect surprise for your family,  your friends, or yourself (because can’t we just sit down and spoil ourselves once in a while?) you definitely need to  visit Disney Floral and Gifts. They have the perfect Halloween Spookiness you are looking for from simple to extravagant. Our In Room Celebration- Mickey’s Halloween Celebration is something your family will talk about for years to come. There are also Halloween gift baskets  and build your own gifts! As for our family. We really felt like we lived a dream, a magical spooktacular experience. Thank you Disney and Floral for the amazing surprise that our family will treasure for years to come. We are starting our home Halloween decorating and will definitely be including some of the magic from Disney Floral and Gifts. What a wonderful wonderful Halloween and family experience!

Our Day Aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic- Now Sailing From #DCLNewYork

Our Day Aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic- Now Sailing From NYC!disneymagicmickeymouseThe New York City shoreline just got a little more magical with the view of Disney Cruise Line’s gorgeous Disney Magic adorning the dock of Pier 88! Recently I had the chance to spend the day on board the Disney Magic. What a amazing day! Our morning began with a guided tour of the enormous ship that holds over two thousand guests. Passing by the grand entrance was breathtaking, especially decked out for Halloween with an interactive Jack-0-lantern tree. The buzz of guests exiting the ship gave me goose bumps at the thought of the pixie dusted memories their families just had the chance to create together. Children passing by with Captain Mickey and Elsa stuffies, little girls in Cinderella gowns and moms, dads and grandparents wearing their finest Disney ears. The sight of it all just warmed my heart.

disneymagicdeck10disneymagictopOur first stop was the Oceaneer Youth Club, a club designed for children ages 3-12, where they can stay and play for as little or long as they would like while their parents take advantage of time alone or at one of the finer dining experiences on the ship. With saying that, if I were I a child I but you would never get me out of the place! It was truly amazing with a bigger than life version of Toy Story Andy’s room complete with his bed on the top and a slide down through Slink! There was also a dance and game floor, Pixie Hollow, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  My favorite part of the room was the The Marvel Avengers Academy where you can virtually suit up into the top-secret command post of S.H.I.E.L.D. and prepare to complete your battle. You will even get an official card upon completion!  You can also find the weaponry of some of your favorite Avengers including Thor’s hammer, Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s armor. There are even computer games and arts and crafts. During our visit there was a surprise visit by Captain America himself! This completely put me in the mood for the upcoming Marvel Day at Sea coming in 2017! My kids were super jealous but I did make them proud by fighting like the superhero they trained me to be! Let’s not forget, I was a boymom for sixteen years before my little princess arrived!disneymagic1disneymagiccapAs we toured decks 9 and 11 I could just envision the families splashing in the pools, dancing to the music that played non stop and just cherishing the precious moments only a Disney cruise could deliver. We were shown many pool areas, some for families and also adult only. Disney cruise is not just for children, it’s also great for adults with many adult options in every venue. One example is the Mixology Class at Keys we were treated to, where we were able to test out our bar-tending skills. We learned tips and tricks to making a perfect cocktail, mojito, and even a layered triple shot! Wooza! Did I mention you can sample of fully enjoy each of the five drinks you create firsthand. This is something I highly recommend if you do cruise with Disney! disneymagicmixologydisneymagiccheersOur group was treated to an amazing treat! Playing now on the Disney Magic is one of my favorite stories, Tangled! With original music from the incredible Alen Menken. The audience was outfitted with overflowing buckets of hot popped popcorn and drinks of choice and it was not long before this musical feast began. The live show does not exactly follow the Disney movie, Tangled but does take its own life in this original version. We loved it and judging by the thunderous applause coming from the onlookers I would have to say that this show would definitely be on the top of my list if I were heading to the Disney Magic again. Tangled The Musical is a must do!

Of course before the show started we did have privi to some top secret information!! In 2017 for the first time ever Disney cruises will host Marvel Day at Sea! We were treated to a sneak peek mini show with superheroes Captain America, Spider-Man entering via webbing and Thor with hammer in hand! If that was a preview, I can’t even begin to imagine how amazing the real thing is going to be.    There will many Marvel themed activities for both children and adults during the event. There will even be Marvel themed food and drinks. A Marvel movie marathon will take place leading up to the latest blockbuster that premieres in November 2017. Marvel characters will be on hand for photo memories and an up close to the characters experience. There will also be a Marvel themed dance party and FX fireworks that will include heroes and villains. Count me in!disneymagictangledsigndisneymagicpopcornLunch was served at the Animator’s Palate, one of the many restaurants to choose from on board of the Disney Magic. There is something so amazing about this restaurant that captivated both adults and children during our time spent there. After being seated the waited directed each one of us at the table to our placemat. He gave us some directions to draw a character using the marker provided. No one really knew what to expect but we all spent the next few minutes creating a rendition of ourselves. My character had glasses and of course a Mickey Tee! We handed in the placemat and continued onto our delicious appetizer dish which consisted of a sampling of a few different mini appetizers. disneymagicapp

disneymagicshrimp

disneymagicdessert1

My entrée choice was penne with garlic shrimp, which was absolutely incredible. As we chatted and dined the many screened that surrounded the dining area kept us entertained with clips and songs from Beauty and the Beast, Lady and the Tramp and more. Suddenly everyone noticed that the characters we had created before the dining began were actually coming to life on the screens. Each of the  screens highlighted the guests seats in their immediate area. Everyone loved the experience watching themselves march across the screen, dance and interact with Mickey Mouse and his friends. It was such a treat. Speaking of treats, the dessert sampler was mouthwatering. Bravo, Animator’s Palate staff, you are top rate! You can check out our fun day aboard the Disney Magic sailing from NYC Pier 88.

disneymagicme disneymagicmeanimated

So if you family or your friends or just you (because going alone may be the best decision ever), are looking for a magical experience on the high seas look no farther than right in our own backyard on 12th Ave, Pier 88! The Disney Cruise- Disney Magic is waiting for you, it’s waiting for your family. Memories will be made that will last forever. As you sail away from the hustle of NYC you will be leaving your stress on the street and trading it for an unplugged (if you choose) experience where you can spend time with the kids, friends, family or alone. On that note, there are some SPA experiences that will drift you into paradise…..Why did I have to disembark?? My heart was filled with happiness as I exited the Disney Magic listening to the families being welcomed one by one onto the ship. I could not help but think of the magic that was about to take place for those lucky people……

There is nothing in the world that can compare to a magical Disney experience. Six Flags Great Adventure’s Scariest Fright Fest in History! #FrightFest #SixFlags

Six Flags Great Adventure’s Scariest Fright Fest in History- Thrills By Day Frights By Night!sixflags3One of our favorite Halloween hot spots in New Jersey is less than two hours from NYC, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ! It’s great for families with children of all ages like ours. From park opening until 6pm Six Flags is scare free and filled with Halloween fun! It’s a great time for the entire family to stay together and ride their favorite rides. There is also an supercute Trick-Or-Treat trail lined with characters who are friendly and ready to interact with your family.  This is for children under twelve years old. We have been taking Emm since she was two years old and there is definitely nothing frightening during the day. There are special shows and decorations that will give your kids a great Halloween feel. You can also enjoy a ton of Halloween treats like hot cocoa topped with a PeepsBrand marshmallow ghost, some Spooks and Cream Dippin Dots, Funnel Scream Cake, Ghoul Cake with worms and dirt, and more! They are definitely worth the buck to indulge in these specialty Halloween themed treats. sixflagstrickortreattrailsixflagstreats

Daytime thrills are devoted to families.  We started our visit by dancing to Halloween hits at the Spooktacular Street Party! Surrounded by zombies, some 8 feet tall, we danced, sang and even conga lined in front of the main fountain!  If you go, don’t forget to catch Just My Rottin’ Luck magic show staring Raoul the Duke of Deception. We also enjoyed something new this year, Six Flags introduced, “The Skeletones” a ghostly and charming acapella group who performed some bad-to-the-bone harmonies at the Wilderness Theater.

sixflags5

sixflags6Now, if you are there to be scared, don’t worry, Six Flags has the scariest Fright Fest in history ready for you this year! By 6pm if you are not in the mood to be haunted it is definitely time to grab the kids and head to a scare free zone. You can ask the workers where they are and they will direct you to them. By then the littles probably are pretty wiped out. My hubby usually stays in the scare free zone at the front of the park (by the funnel cakes) with my daughter while this Momma and her boys go head on into Fright Fest! Beginning at 6 p.m., things take a drastic turn with the Fright By Night festivities. Swarms of decaying zombies, crooked clowns, freaks of nature and monsters of the night emerge in The Awakening parade, and then Dr. Fright unleashes these horrors into the streets. As the night creeps on, guests can enjoy one of three new “Monstertainment” shows, a new haunted maze, and fresh takes on park classics. It all starts off with the parade and Dead Man’s Party: Graveyard Rock – Dr. Fright and his friends take over a graveyard for Fright Fest’s signature song and dance production featuring many new Halloween hits and dazzling special effects with the help of celebrity choreographer Ashle Dawson. It does take place in a new location in the Movietown Arena.

sixflags8sixflags9

One of the new additions to Six Flags this year that our family loved was the VR coaster, Rage of the Gargoyles virtual reality coaster – As riders we used Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus headsets to battle demonic creatures in the world’s first interactive gaming VR experience on a coaster, Skull Mountain. This experience is exclusively for Season Pass holders, active Members, haunted maze pass purchasers and owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note7. Must be at least 13 years old to wear Samsung Gear VR. Must be at least 44” tall to ride with an adult or 48” to ride alone.

sixflagsvrsixflagsshow

You can also check out the new Bilkum, Burnham & Haugh’s Side Show Spectacular where the World-famous Lizardman, Murrugun the Mystic and the beautiful sorceress Catalina Askew headline this jaw-dropping and heart-pounding freak show. The Donniker Bros. Worlds of Mirth – Dark and devilish clowns urge guests to step right up to this uproarious new performance packed with unseemly humor and ample shenanigans. Slash is also new, where gallows of humor meets unsettling, gory, hard rock violence as illusionists John Bundy and Morgan blur the line between reality and horror, premiering in Showcase Theatre. Suitable for mature audiences only.  My personal favorite was Cell Block 6 Haunted Maze!!!! You will be inside a prison on lockdown while it is overrun with strange and scary inmates desperate to break free. Guests wind their way through twisting corridors trying to escape before it’s too late. There is an extra fee to participate in this one.

sixflags12sixflags10So gather up your family and friends and head to Six Flags Great Adventure for Fright Fest! You can find that six free scares, eight Monstertainment shows, the new Rage of the Gargoyles virtual reality coaster and the park’s world-class thrill ride collection are included with park admission, Season Pass and active Membership. Seven haunted mazes require an additional fee. Fright by Night is not recommended for children under 12 and those who scare easily. The world’s first fully interactive, horror-themed virtual reality coaster gaming experience, a new haunted prison maze and four new, devilishly entertaining shows including the world-famous Lizardman headline the biggest and scariest Fright Fest® season in history at Six Flags Great Adventure. Weekends and select days through October 31, families can enjoy all of their favorite roller coasters and thrill rides plus family-friendly themed attractions with Thrills by Day and terrifying mazes, scare zones and shows during Fright By Night.  Check out all about Six Flags here: https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure
