Ring In The New Year With Disney Infinity: Marvel Superheroes 2.0.

In our household, Disney, video games, and superheroes are all held in high regard, so it’s no surprise that Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) has been basically the biggest hit of 2014 around here! Combining characters and worlds from classic Disney and Marvel films and TV (including Brave, Aladdin, The Avengers, and Spider-Man, to name a few), this game has it all– and a little something for everyone in the family.

Whether we’re building in the Toy Box, taking on villains in Toy Box Games like Attack on Asgard, or tackling one of the three story-driven Play Sets, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) is loaded with tons of fun for everybody, from my youngest daughter to my oldest son, to enjoy.

The best part, though, is that there’s still plenty more to come! 2015 is going to bring us new figures from both the Disney Originals and the Marvel Super Heroes sides of the game, with characters like Princess Jasmine, Falcon, Loki, and more making their Disney Infinity debut! Disney’s Into the Woods: A Broadway Classic Comes to Life on the Silver Screen! #IntoTheWoods @DisneyPictures

Disney’s Into The Woods

Being a true Disney movie fan is something I take pride in. Proudly, I have seen just about every Disney movie for as long as I can remember. Saying that, take my word, you will not want to miss this one. This Christmas, experience Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s classic Broadway musical Into the Woods like never before! With a star-studded cast featuring Meryl Streep as the Witch, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella’s Prince, James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker’s Wife, Tracy Ullman as Jack’s Mother (of Jack and the Beanstalk), Johnny Depp as the Wolf, and more, Into the Woods is a movie you won’t want to miss!
The film tells the twisted and interlocked stories of some of the most famous fairy tale characters (like Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and Rapunzel) as they travel “Into the Woods” to accomplish their separate quests and make their wishes come true. Of course, not everything goes as planned, and each of our heroes realizes they have something to learn about the consequences of what they deeply desired. Be careful what you wish for!

Into the Woods utilizes all of the wonder and magic that its silver screen dressing will allow, but also preserves the music and spirit of the original show. It’s a delight for die-hard fans of the musical and Broadway buffs who have never come in contact with the show alike. Build A Bear Workshop- 
Making My Little Pony Princess Celestia 

By now if you know me, you know just how much our family adores Build A Bear Workshop.
Besides the fact that it was the dream child of Maxine Clark, it’s a place I know my daughter can
create a new friend. Build A Bear introduced My Little Pony to the family last year and since then we have added quite a few to our home and hearts. Since my daughter is eight years old, she is the perfect age to really get the full experience of making a new friend.
Recently we visited one of our favorite Build A Bear Workshops, nicknamed at this time of year as
Santa’s Workshop so Emily could make the latest My Little Pony, Princess Celestia. She has been counting down the days to this one. Princess Celestia is one of her absolute favorites, so I was just as excited to watch her make the pony as she was to be there.

If you have never been to Build A Bear, it’s quite easy to understand just what to do when you get there. First you check out all of the choices and pick the one friend that you plan on taking home. Emily always gives it a hug to see if it hugs back since she says that the friend actually chooses you. Princess Celestia was no different. They chose each other and it was off to the stuffing station where the helper had Emily choose a heart to put inside of her new friend. She made a special wish on the heart and then placed it inside of Princess Celestia. She also chose a lovely strawberry scent and the official My Little Pony tune that later would be played a zillion times over by pushing the hoof.
After a few foot pedal pushes, Princess Celestia came to life! She was ready for her first official hug! Emily’s smile could not have been any brighter! What a magical moment.

Next we were off to the fluffing station where a lot of fluffing and brushing took place. I mean, a princess has to look perfect before she gets dressed, right? Before long we found the cape, tiara and necklace set and pair of golden shoes that finished off the look! Princess Celestia was dressed and ready to go! We registered her and received an official adoption certificate! So much fun. If you are thinking of taking your child to Build A Bear, don’t delay. There are plenty of choices for both girls and boys- including Disney’s Frozen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more. Disney Into The Woods NYC Press Junket. #IntoTheWoods

 There is pretty much nothing much more exciting than being invited to a Disney event. So, when my invite arrived for the NYC Into the Woods Press Junket I was beyond thrilled. Years ago I was lucky enough to go on a date with my now hubby of 25 years to see Bernadette Peters on Broadway starring in Into The Woods. I have pretty much been in love with the story since then and was chomping at the bit to see how Disney would magic up the story.

Our intimate group of Disney writers were invited to a Press Conference with many of the top names from the show. Three of my all time favorites were there: Meryl Streep, Tracey Ullman and Christine Baranski. There words danced like music as they each explained the glory of the the movie. Meryl Streep almost brought  me to tears as she spoke about the witch’s character as it relates to life and parenting and children growing up and moving away. It was bordering on heartbreaking to think about. Tracey Ullman was hilarious as ever while explaining her role as Jack’s mother and her death scene during the movie. Of course the glamorous Christine Baranski lived up with relating her character of Cinderella’s stepmother saying how all mothers want to see their children set. They want the best for both their sons and daughters and are willing to do whatever they can to help them along the way.

One of my favorite quotes of the day came from Emily Blunt where she stated that, “Wishes Come True-Not Free”. Her character of the baker’s wife is conflicted throughout the film. For her it all comes too late. She also let us know that her character’s biggest fear, like many of us is to be left alone to carry on. She takes us there though, Moments in the woods.

James Cordon, the baker, shared the joy of working with his  fellow actors saying, “They are a company where no one steals the limelight from anyone else”. Wow, what an amazing atmosphere to work in. No wonder the movie was so awesome! That love an respect for one another shines through both the movie and the interviews! Chris Pine, Cinderella’s prince admitted to never hearing about Into the Woods before. Well, that worked for him. My favorite movie line had to be, “I was raised to be Charming, not sincere”. How can that not make you smile!? He also let us know he enjoyed playing a two dimensional character.

As for Rob Marshall, director, he was thrilled to have an entire cast that had a background in theater.
His love of the movie was how everyone moved forward together, forming and reforming. The cast mimicked the film as they moved forward together- growing together and becoming one. Disney’s Into The Woods Press Conference was filled with laughs. You could feel the genuine love the cast had for one another.
