Six Flags Great Adventure Has Some Great Events This May! (May 20-29th)

sixflagsjusticeleague

May is in full swing and Memorial Day weekend is almost here! It gets our family thinking about theme parks. As far as this family is thinking we absolutely cannot wait. It has been a long winter with a lot tough days getting my broken foot back into the swing of walking again in time for spring and summer. It’s looking good and I cannot wait to join the family riding all of our favorites at Six Flags Great Adventure! Memorial Day is a perfect weekend to visit Great Adventure and there are some pretty awesome events and rides that we cannot wait to test out! On Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 to 29, patrons are encouraged to kick off summer at Six Flags. Thrill seekers can enjoy rides such as Zumanjaro with its limited-time Drop of Doom VR, El Toro, and GREEN LANTERN™. Families can celebrate the weekend riding HARLEY QUINN™ Crazy Train, Bumper Cars and Big Wheel.

You can also check out DC Super Hero Summer Garden State Comic Fest – May 27. As part of the DC Super Hero Summer, Six Flags will partner with Garden State Comic Fest to bring guests a mini comic-con from 12 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 27. The event will feature comics, collectibles, artists, DC Comics cosplay, and a special celebrity appearance by actor John Wesley Shipp, known for his role in the CBS sci-fi adventure series “The Flash,” and Henry Allen in the CW’s “The Flash.” Bill Spadea from NJ 101.5 and Chasing News will be present to celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day during the mini-con. Police officers along with their friends and family will be able to stay in the park an extra 90 minutes for exclusive ride time on BATMAN™: The Ride and THE DARK KNIGHT™. The festival is included with valid theme park admission.

If you are heading out this weekend, check out what is going on at Great Adventure. The weather is gorgeous! It already feels like summer is here, why wait!

May 20 & 21: Dance troupes of all ages and types have the opportunity to perform without the pressure of a competition or recital. Performances start at noon inside Showcase Theater in the Movietown section of the park. All participants will receive a Dancefest ribbon to take home as a souvenir of their day. Registration is required for group participation. Visit www.sixflags.com/greatadventure for more information.

Business & Marketing Education Day – May 24: For years, Six Flags has invited high school and middle school students to learn about business by bringing them inside the marketing of a theme park. Professionals from different industries are invited to speak to students about all levels of marketing.  Each year, Six Flags creates a new challenge that asks students to design a business plan for everything from a new concert or sporting event to marketing non-profits. Participating students compete for theme park tickets.

Safety Patrol Day – May 26: Safety Patrollers are responsible and dedicated to the safety of fellow students and their school. Reward their dedication with a fun filled trip to our annual Safety Patrol Days.  It’s a great way to recruit students for the Safety Patrol program from year to year.

And don’t forget the funnel cake!!…..

McDonald’s Signature Crafted Influencer Event #NYC @McDNYTristate #foodie

McDonald’s Signature Crafted Influencer Event In NYCmcd21Recently our family was invited to the McDonald’s Signature Crafted Influencer Event in NYC. We had the opportunity to check out all of the new tastes McDonald’s has on board. We were in awe of the variety of choices that pleased our palate as we taste-tested some of the latest menu items. We had the chance to sample three costumer inspired Signature Crafted Recipes. They were made with premium ingredients and each had their own unique flavor combination. The three latest flavors include Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon, and Maple Bacon Dijon.

Pico Guacamole is a treat to the taste buds and anyone who is a guacamole fan. It’s a pleasant combo of where smooth and creamy meets chunky and spicy. Made with white cheddar cheese, guacamole made from 100% Hass avocados, freshly prepared Pico de Gallo, crispy leaf lettuce and creamy buttermilk ranch sauce made with real buttermilk and sour cream blended with shallots, garlic and spices. It is also topped off served with a line wedge. MCd15The Sweet BBQ Bacon burger  was amazing! Honestly this one was my personal favorite! I will be back from more. This sweet BBQ heat meets savory with grilled onions, thick cut Applewood smoked bacon, creamy white cheddar, delicious BBQ sauce and topped off with golden crispy onions. Yum! Absolutely delicious! This burger is sweet to the taste and a bit crunchy, too. If I could design a hamburger this would be it.

The Maple Bacon Dijon was hubby’s favorite and I can see why (but I am still sticking by my own choice). This burger is a satisfying combination of sweet and savory. It has grilled onions, thick- cut Applewood smoked bacon with sweet apple maple seasoning, white cheddar, crisp leaf lettuce and a creamy Dijon sauce.

Ordering is simple. You can select a freshly prepared quarter pound 100 percent beef  patty, buttermilk crispy chicken or Artisan Grilled Chicken with either a sesame seed bun or toasted Artisan Roll. No matter what choice you make, you cannot lose. All the new additions are absolutely delicious!

mcd5Our night was hosted by the one and only, celebrity radio host, Skeery Jones from Z100. We were also treated to live performances by Beat Box House and artist, Lara Maxen as we dined in style at the @McDNYTristate 809 6th Avenue, NYC.

GIVEAWAY: We are thrilled to be partnering with McDonald’s to give one lucky 3decades3kids reader a chance of their own to experience the amazing new Signature Crafted Recipes. Someone is going to McDonald’s for some major Yum! Winner will be selected via random.org on May 12th at 10pm and contacted. Joshua: Teenager Vs. Superpower Streaming On Netflix May 26th

JOSHUA-GIVING_PEACE_SIGN.jpg_g=1493415258307

When the Chinese Communist Party alters its promise of autonomy to Hong Kong – handed back to the Chinese government from British rule in 1997 – teenager Joshua Wong decides to fight for his homeland.  Rallying thousands of kids to skip school and occupy the streets, and without a long-term plan but with passion to spare, Joshua becomes an unlikely leader in Hong Kong. A remarkable portrait of courage, resilience, and the propulsive power of youthful idealism, JOSHUA : TEENAGER VS. SUPERPOWER, the winner of this year’s Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, is a chronicle of one young man risking his own future for a greater good.

Joe Piscatella has, since graduating from the graduate writing program at USC, written for a host of television, film, radio and print projects. His first feature documentary, #chicagoGirl: The Social Network Takes on a Dictator, has been seen in more than 60 countries. He was also an executive producer on the documentary Finders Keepers, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015. In addition to his directing work, Piscatella has written numerous feature scripts and television pilots for 20th Century Fox, Spyglass and Touchstone Television. His credits include Disney’s Underdog, Warner Bros.’ “Ozzy & Drix” and NBC’s “Stark Raving Mad. The filmmaker graduated from Georgetown University. After a tryout as a punter in the Canadian Football League, he began his writing career as a speechwriter in Washington, D.C., where he wrote jokes for clients such as executives at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and high-ranking personnel in the U.S. Air Force. In addition, he interned for Ted Koppel on ABC’s “Nightline.”
