Nintendo Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival #NintendoKidReviewers @Nintendo

Nintendo Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival! This post is part of our #NintendoKidReviewers series and written by Emily Sullivan-age 9. Emily is an official game reviewer for Nintendo America.

animalcrossingemilyI received Nintendo Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival a few weeks ago and could not wait to play it! The game is 1-4 players with fun minigames! In the game the object is to collect happy points and bells. On each corner of the game board village you will get a corner of the stamp when you get all four corners of the stamp you will get a happy point bonus! You choose the month you will be playing in and will earn emotions and different outfits on the amiibos you use. There are eight different Animal Crossing Amiibos to use in the game. There are Amiibos of, Isabelle, K.K.Slider, Mabel, Tom Nook, Digby, Lottie, Reese, and Cyrus. If you have enough Happy Tickets you can open fun attractions.

animalcrossing

animalcrossing2You don’t need any happy tickets to play the Balloon Island game which is really fun! The other attractions usually need three, four, or five happy tickets to open and are also super fun! The attractions are Acorn Chase, Mystery Campers, Balloon Island, Quiz Show, Fruit Path, Amiibo Card Battle, Desert Island Escape, and Resetti Bop. All attractions can be played with Amiibo Cards.

animalcrossing1

animalcrossingwiiuAmiibo Cards are like Amiibos, they can be used in different games, for different things. In Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival the Amiibo Cards can be used to play the attraction minigames. At the beginning of  the game the host or hostess will ask if everyone playing knows how to play the game, if you say no the host or hostess will explain the rules to the player or players. During the game watch out for purple spaces which are the bad spaces and pink spaces are good spaces, while Special Event spaces are usually green with a picture of the event they are for.Every Sunday Joan the turnip seller comes and you can choose to buy or not to buy the turnips. There is also twice dice day when you roll two dice instead of one! A fortune teller named Katrina that comes around with tarot cards on special event spaces.Redd the fox who sells special cards to you and the other players comes around sometimes too!Srunk comes to give you cards! You can use the card you earn from a mini-game or buy for 100 bells. You can carry two cards at one time. In the middle of the game there might be a bug off or a fishing tourney, during them you will land on a green, silver, or gold space. At the end of the game the host or hostess will announce who is in first, second, third, and fourth place.  My favorite part of the game is collecting all the Happy Points with the Amiibo characters! Check out more about Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival here.

Calling All Gamers. Our Nintendo Kid Reviewers Gift Guide!

Nintendogiftguide8Calling all gamers. Our Nintendo Kid Reviewers have the scoop on the kewlest games and amiibo this holiday season. Recently our family was treated to day of holiday shopping at Nintendo World NYC to check out all the latest gaming goods. It’s kind of one stop shopping for us! Having two game reviewers in the house means double the fun! So here go the picks. If you are a gamer or have kids that love to game we have you covered.

The kids love the amiibo figures. Our house is filled with them and I do not see and end in sight! Some of our favorites are Animal Crossing, Yarn Yoshi, Mario, Splatoon and more. They are so much fun to add to the gaming experience. For non gamers, an amiibo is a character figure (or a card) that gives you in-game extras in a wide variety of games for Nintendo systems. One figure might unlock a new character in one game, give you a new costume in another, and a power-up in yet another! Some of them can even battle with or against you in Super Smash Bros! They are a lot of fun to play with, and my children love using them in their Nintendo games, both on the Wii U and 3DS! I may even be a little bit obsessed with them myself!

From Super Mario Maker, Skylanders SuperChargers,  Super Smash Brothers, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival to Splatoon, there are so many choices and you just cannot choose wrong! The best part of all, GIRLS love to game, too! Until Emily came along, I viewed gaming as a boy thing. I could not be more wrong. My daughter loves gaming and really can put her brothers to the test in games like Super Smash Bros. and Splatoon. So if you are shopping for a boy or girl this Christmas, you need to look no farther than http://happyholidays.nintendo.com/ If you are not sure what game to buy, a gift card is always a great choice and will be just as welcome.

Nintendo’s Splatoon Is Taking Over Our House This Summer!

This summer something has taken over our house! No one is complaining that’s for sure. In fact this gaming family has welcomed the takeover with open arms! Splatoon, Nintendo’s new energetic third-person shooter game is a perfect game for families and kids of all ages! Splatoon offers a unique experience that differs from other games in its genre. Players can seamlessly transform from their human form into squids, and can swim around in the paint that they have coated the ground with from their guns.

Splatoon’s multiplayer mode focuses on two teams competing the cover the most ground with their team’s paint color. This makes for a hectic, exciting, and fun multiplayer experience. Splatoon’s graphics show off the technical power of the Wii U, and all of the different vibrant colors in the game set it apart from most other games on the market.

My children have become big fans of Nintendo’s Splatoon. It is a game that appeals to all ages, due to the fact that it is very bright and colorful along with having RPG-like character customization and multiplayer with high replay value. Splatoon is an incredible game, and has become a classic in my home. By the way: SPLATFEST!! We have and will be so there! If only we could choose the winning team! Thanks for all the fun, Nintendo. You know how to keep this family happy!
