SYNOPSIS: In this spectacular action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt, the survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek (Brenton Thwaites) undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.

Every year it seems that Valentine’s Day and Halloween we get hit with tons of candy. It lays around in bags and eventually ends up in the trash can. This year is going to be a little bit different but just as sweet. Hubby’s class and Emm’s third grade class are in for a sweet treat. Of course neither will probably be surprised. My daughter always brings in Halos for a lunch treat or for snack time. As for hubby, he loves to treat the class to Halos when he has the chance. Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho!, It’s off to see Snow White we go! Our family adores all things Disney, so of course we were super excited when we were invited to celebrate the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! This past weekend in NYC, Disney  teamed up with Taste Buds Kitchen to welcome Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Digital HD and Blu-ray™ Combo Pack.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a movie I can remember watching with my parents and I am glad to share my love of the movie with my own family. Of course we all know how important the red apple is in the movie, so it was quite a treat to be involved in a baking class at Taste Buds Kitchen where the little bakers worked together to create red velvet cupcakes that resembled the witch’s red apple. Aprons on and step by step directions in hand, the children were guided through the baking process including whipping up some dreamy icing and fondant leaves to adorn the apple inspired cupcake. Did I mention the aroma of those delicious cupcakes baking? I’m glad the wicked witch was not there to temp me, although I could not help but sample the deliciousness when all was said and done.

SnowWhite1Now, getting back to the movie- Our family has spent years identifying with those adorable little dwarfs! Everyone has a favorite. Mine is Dopey! When we visit Walt Disney World our family is always sure to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They are just a staple in our love for all things Disney. The movie never gets old around here, especially all the treasured songs.
