Let Netflix Help You Address Tough Topics This Month! #StreamTeam

From tackling peer pressure to learning to achieve five whole minutes without a cell phone in hand, addressing tough topics with your kids head-on can be hard. Even with the littlest ones, it’s not always easy to explain why you can’t get them that cute puppy and why they need to be nice to their sister. But with Netflix, your kid’s favorite shows can open the door for these tricky, sometimes awkward (hello parents of tweens and teens!), conversations.

Netflix is host to a variety of family-friendly shows that explore a range of real-life issues with equal measures of humor, angst and heart. No matter your situation, chances are there’s a show and episode that can kickstart a dialogue around the topic just by watching it together.

Since there’s so much to choose from on Netflix, we narrowed down some of our top picks for talking about tricky topics with your kids– check them out below!

Netflix Celebrates Siblings in April! #StreamTeam

Believe it or not, siblings really can get along. They play together, they cuddle, and they get sad when one of them is gone for too long. But when it comes to agreeing on something to watch, they can go from love to loathe in a matter of minutes. We want siblings everywhere (of all ages) to get along famously, no matter their differences in show tastes. That’s why Netflix has created Netflix Sibling Playlists to honor National Siblings Day (April 10th). During the month of April, kids can choose from playlists such as the “Tale of Two Distant Ages” to “Sugar and Spice” and more, offering something for every sibling squad to watch and enjoy together.

We’re certainly no stranger to the way siblings get along in our house, which is why we’ve picked some of our favorite Netflix shows and playlists t0 share with you. Read on to see some of the great “Sibling Playlists” Netflix has to offer, and a sample of the great shows and movies that are available on the site this month!

Still Can’t Decide?

Since we know getting a collective answer can be easier said than done, Netflix has created an iconic fortune teller to help your family decide what to watch next. Even better, create your own.

How to play:IMG_3538

1. Pick a color on the top four flaps and spell out the letters (e.g. B-L-U-E) while alternating a pinching and pulling motion with the teller to reveal a set of four numbers.
2. Pick a number and move the fortune teller the corresponding number of times, revealing a second set of four numbers.
3. Choose a genre and open the flap to reveal what’s up next on Netflix.

Fuller House on Netflix! So Much Awesome! #Netflix #StreamTeam

Fuller House on Netflix

fullerhouse1

Seems like just yesterday my younger self was obsessed with Full House. My friends and I loved every minute of the show. When I heard the first news about Fuller House in the works I just about went wild. What an amazing experience, what an amazing idea. Now my own kids can have the chance to see what fun was waiting for them with the debut of Fuller House. So, popcorn in hand our family sat together to see just what Fuller House was made of, if it would live up to Full House. The answer: Yes! If you were a Full House fan be prepared. You are not going to be able to leave until you have streamed every episode of Fuller House! Our family loved this new show and you will, too! As for John Stamos and Bob Saget, I can officially never get enough of either of them! They won’t be in every episode but will definitely make their appearances. So, check it out on Netflix and let me know what you think. All thirteen episodes are live and waiting for you just in time for the weekend.

I’d love to share  a glimpse at how DJ, Stephanie and Kimmy are adjusting into their new roles as grown-ups, plus hear more about their perfect Netflix night in. As Candace Cameron Bure puts it, it’s “pretty rad.”

I’m so excited to say that  Fuller House characters are getting their very own Netflix “collections” to celebrate the show launch. Next time your family is gathering around the TV, look to TV Time for the Fam and other Fuller House-inspired title collections to find something everyone can agree on!

January on Netflix! Something For Everyone In Your Family! @Netflix #StreamTeam

There Is Something For Everyone In The Family This January On Netflix!

netflixjanwhoswatching

Happy January! One thing I absolutely love about Netflix is that everyone has their own privacy and choices. Unlike “On Demand” the kids are not shown show choices that are way out of their age range as they are searching for a show they want to watch. I also love how my choices are my choices and are saved. My hubby and older kids have their own choices and their own shows saved. It’s like utopia for me!

So when the new year rolled along everyone in this family was curious to see exactly what Netflix would have in store for us. Some of us love terror, others just want to laugh and some of us love ponies and Barbie…. There is A LOT in the works for this month!! We also love Netflix originals!

netflixjan1

netflixjan4S0, whatever you are into, Netflix is there for you! As for us we will be enjoying Netflix on our new Roku TV! Thanks for the awesomeness, Netflix. I can’t even begin to imagine life without you. Happy January! As for this January, our family will be taking the plunge into the unknown, we’ll be taking chances, like our favorite family, The Croods! Very soon our family is taking our yearly SKI TRIP, it’s kinda out of my own comfort zone, even though everyone else in the family counts it down. So, although I was once pretty good visiting Snowtown, I’m not sure how it’s going to go down this year. I will definitely keep you posted on the new adventure! I kinda feel like maybe they won’t let me join the team and I will have to make a team of my own….like in the pic below! Maybe I will just hang out in the lodge with some hot cocoa and my Netflix tablet. Okay, Okay, You know I won’t! I am always part of #TeamFamily So wish me luck, or maybe, wish my family luck! Here’s to taking new adventures! Do you have any new adventures you will be testing out this year? By the way, WHAT is your favorite Netflix show??
