Disney’s The Jungle Book In Theaters Today. We Have The Inside Scoop on the Movie #Review

Disney’s The Jungle Book In Theaters Today- Reviewjunglebook3For years Jungle Book has played over and over in our house. It’s a movie our family loves and enjoys all of the fun loving Disney songs that Disney movies are make of. When we first heard about the live action Jungle Book no one really knew what to expect from it. Would it have the same story line? Would they stay true to the original that we already love. junglebook1 junglebookWell, I’m here to tell you that you will definitely want to see this movie in the theater. You will fall in love with Mogli within a matter of minutes and get completely pulled in by all of the animals that convince you of their true emotions the more you get into the story. There are a few changes especially at the end, but it works and you will love it. As for Mowgli, the twelve year old who is new to acting, he is quite talented. He also is the only live action character in the film! If possible it would be best to view this movie in 3D with Dolby Surround Sound. Believe me when I tell you- you will actually think you are in the jungle with the sensational sound effects! We loved the experience.

I wanted to share an amazing video highlighting the voices in the film including  Bill Murray (“Baloo”), Sir Ben Kingsley (“Bagheera”), Lupita Nyong’o (“Raksha”), Scarlett Johansson (“Kaa”), Idris Elba (“Shere Khan”), Christopher Walken (“King Louie”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Akela”) and Neel Sethi (Mowgli).

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016.junglebook2For all things Jungle Book, check out Disney.com/thejunglebook

Minecraft: Wii U Edition Review #NintendoKidReviewer #Nintendo

Minecraft: Wii U Edition

minecraftOur family has loved Minecraft the moment we first heard about it. So, when we heard it was coming out as a Wii U edition was were beyond excited. In a family of gamers it is great to find a game that spans the interest of the entire family. Minecraft: Wii U Edition is a game that perfectly fits on Nintendo’s Wii U console. The game has no set story, and its primary focus is adventure and exploration. From the time that I have put in the game already, I can say nothing but bad things about the game. From the many nights of struggling through with minimal supplies in Survival Mode to the days and nights passing as I build massive structures in Creative, the experience overall has been incredible.

Minecraft features extremely diverse landscapes with many different animal and enemy types that you will encounter throughout your journeys. The game’s world is randomly generated, meaning that no two games will be alike. This gives each player their own unique experience, while also giving the title loads of replay value due to the fact that you can create as many worlds as you want!

The game looks absolutely stunning on the Wii U. Minecraft: Wii U Edition boasts vast landscapes, many places to explore, and great multiplayer support! Up to four people can play together via splitscreen, and eight people can play the game together online! The game becomes even more fun with friends, as you can invite them into your worlds to explore or build. I have already made some great memories with some of my best friends while sinking hours into travelling across a variety of locations within our Minecraft world. It’s also a lot of fun to hop onto the game via local play with your family!

Minecraft: Wii U Edition is the definitive game for explorers, builders, adventure seekers, and people just looking for an amazing gaming experience. The Wii U is the best place to check out this title, and I would definitely recommend giving it a try. With many different things to do and hours of content packed in, Minecraft is one of the must-have games for the Wii U system in 2016.

High Strung Movie In Theaters April 8th! @HighStrungMovie #HighStrungMovie

High Strung Movie In Theaters April 8th! highstrung1

Being a part of the NYC rush almost on a daily basis it was easy for me to fall in love immediately with High Strung. Set in the backdrop of New York City and filmed in many of my favorite places that include Lincoln Center, I could not help but be taken by the story from the very first moments. In a movie that highlights two unlikely people who meet by chance I found myself rooting for the raw talent that was showcased throughout the movie. We all know about what it takes to succeed in big cities. Only the best of the best can make their names heard. High Strung shows us the path of two radically talented people from opposite sides of the tracks need to find harmony to achieve their dreams.

As the movie begins we find out that Ruby Adams  is a dancer from the Midwest on scholarship, living her first day in New York City. Johnnie Blackwell  is a British musician, playing for money in the subway tunnels. Ruby’s world is classical and disciplined; Johnnie’s is improvisational and street smart. When a hip-hop battle gone wrong throws these two artists together, they immediately clash but can’t deny it when sparks begin to fly. Their lives quickly get entangled in the pitfalls that come with competing in New York City. With the help of a dynamic dance crew called The Switch Steps, Ruby and Johnnie must find a way to save Ruby’s scholarship and keep Johnnie from being deported.

This movie hit a special note with me after spending years teaching at a Preforming Arts School. This movie is for everyone! If you are in the NYC area you can see High Strung at the AMC Empire 25, April 8th 7:05pm with a Q&A with Nicholas Galitzine and filmmakers Michael & Janeen Damian! You can grab photos and win some awesome prize giveaways.highstrung2

If you love great music, incredible dancing and just a wonderful feel good movie, please grab your friends and head to the theater on Friday April 8th to see High Strung. You will not regret it. In an action-packed extravaganza combining cutting edge hip-hop with contemporary and classical dance, the two must navigate their opposing worlds and prepare for a competition where winning or losing will change their lives forever. #DIY Light Up Your Easter Egg Hunt With Positive Messages, Memories and HERSHEY’S Treats #HersheysEaster

Light Up Your Easter Egg Hunt
With Positive Messages, Memories
and HERSHEY’S Treats
hersheyslightupeggs

Every year when Easter rolls around I cannot help but get a twinge of excitement
deep within my soul. Being a mom of three children of all ages, I have been
snapping on the bunny tail and floppy bunny ears for years and years. I find the
fascination of a child who believes in the magic of the Easter Bunny to be one
of the most amazing experiences of my life. Along the path of parenting I have come up
with numerous traditions to create family memories. One of my favorite has to
be the tradition of our Bunny egg hunt that takes place after dinner on Easter Sunday when
the sun goes down. Our official Easter Bunny(me) came up with this idea a
few years ago and it has been a big hit ever since.

It’s quite simple and really amazes the kids every time. Who can resist anything that lights up?

We start with a Memory Jar (we always have a memory jar on the counter) which has a
constant flow of funny memories or something special that a family member did
during the year. I look through the strips and use them as the bunny’s inspiration to write
Bunny notes to fill the eggs with.
Example: #1
The Easter Bunny loved when you made a card for you friend that was in the hospital.
Example #2
The Easter Bunny always hops higher when you read a book at bedtime!
Example #3
The Easter Bunny chuckled when Adam had on two different sneakers.
Example #4
Remember to eat your carrots and other vegetables just like the Easter Bunny!
Example #5
The Easter Bunny wants to remind Dad not to leave his coffee on top of the van!

You can personalize the Bunny Notes to anything you would like.
My older children love this, too. They are good sports and play along but honestly
I think they do enjoy some of the funny notes the Easter Bunny leaves inside the eggs.
Now, for the light up part of the egg- I get the light-stick bracelets at the dollar store.
They are packed as 18 in a pack so for $2.00 I have enough for 36 eggs!
Makes for an awesome light show.
Final step is to add a delicious HERSHEY’S treat or two to the light up egg.
In our family by the time Easter dinner is over everyone is just hanging around. As soon as the
sun goes down hubby or I sneak out to the yard and place the eggs all over.
Then we direct everyone to the yard and fun begins. I will miss the magic when
I don’t have a bunny believer in the house any more, but I have a feeling this tradition
will carry on for years to come.
