Nuclear Cowboyz
Yes, You Should Take The Entire Family!
 #NuclearCowboyz #FamilyFun
Nuclear Cowboyz is an amazing freestyle motocross sport event. If you have never been to it, it’s hard to know exactly what to expect. Our family has been pretty much obsessed with Nuclear Cowboyz since being introduced to this awesome show presented by Feld Entertainment.  Our family was treated to The VIP Fallout Zone. What an experience! Two hours before showtime we had the privilege of mingling with all of the stars of the show. A mixture of super fans and drivers has a way of creating the ultimate in excitement. There were photo ops, autographs, snacks, and posters. There was also a Kids Zone set up where the fans could autograph a bike and try on the drivers’ boots, gloves, helmet and more.
Personally, our family is thrilled with the meet and greet. This year since it’s an all new show, the set up was a bit different which meant even more fun for us. Entering its fifth touring year, Nuclear Cowboyz is led by an award-winning creative team and features the world’s top freestyle motocross athletes, including four-time X Games medalist and New Jersey Native, Ronnie Faisst. I had a chance to catch up with Ronnie and chat.

Interview Between Diane Sullivan and Ronnie Faisst:
Diane: The last time I interviewed you was in 2012. Since then I have seen just how talented you really are. I am very impressed!
Ronnie: Thanks for the love.

Diane: Please catch me up on your best moment in 2013.
Ronnie: Riding for the Nuclear Cowboyz tour was a big highlight during 2013. It’s really the only place fans can see the globe’s top FMX riders under one roof, so it’s great to be a part of the the show with the crew.

Diane: Scariest moment of 2013?
Ronnie: Days before the Munich stop of the 2013 Global X Games tour, I crashed during training and blew out my knee, crushing all hopes of winning a gold medal in Speed & Style this year. I blew out the ACL completely, tore my meniscus at 50 percent and I tore my MCL but the tear was minor.
I actually crashed on a Friday and was supposed to fly out on a Tuesday. What happened was that I crashed on a no-handed back flip. I was thinking about step two and forgot about step one. I was thinking about stretching back farther with my head and extending.
The long and short of it is that I never flipped. I rode off the ramp in the flip position but never pulled, so I had to jump off and ditch the bike. I landed on top of my feet on the landing, tumbled down and just blew my knee out. It felt like my femur went through my knee cap. Certainly was not the high point of the year.

Diane: How do you stay grounded?
Ronnie: Riding is my escape. It really allows me to clear my mind and enjoy life. With all the stresses in life, we all need to escape. Going out with my buddies and ripping on a trail or track, or just riding in my backyard is the best feeling and really a great way to just leave it all behind and be a free spirit.

Diane:What goals are you still trying to achieve? What’s in the future?
Ronnie: I’d really like to get back to competing for a gold at X Games Speed and Style competition. But above all, I just want to stay healthy and keep going down the path I’m on. Riding with the Nuclear Cowboyz has been a great adventure, so I hope to stay healthy and keep touring with the show.

Diane: Thanks, Ronnie. You are always so open. This is very appreciated. Good Luck to you now and in the future.

The new storyline is conveyed through more than 1,000 gravity-defying freestyle stunts by the globe’s most dominant freestyle athletes, including performing over 200 flips on 10 ramps. The action-packed show is complete with mind-bending performances by world-famous Shaolin Kung Fu Warriors, stunning laser effects, the largest indoor pyrotechnics show and an infectious soundtrack comprised of heavy metal, electronic dubstep and alternative hip hop. Nuclear Cowboyz is a show for everyone and wonderful family fun.
