LIFETIME Premiere of THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL! Saturday at 8PM ET/PT

Lifetime Premiere of The Trip To Bountiful!
Saturday- March 8th 8pm ET/PT

Fantastic news coming your way. I know where I will be Saturday night, March 8th at 8pm.
This year’s Tony Award nominated Broadway revival hit The Trip to Bountiful comes to Lifetime on Saturday, March 8, at 8 pm ET/PT, starring  original cast members Cicely Tyson (The Help) and Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty), who are joined by Blair Underwood (In Treatment) alongside Keke Palmer (CrazySexyCool).
Based on Oscar®, Pulitzer Prize, and Emmy Award winning author Horton Foote’s Tony Award nominated play, The Trip to Bountiful is a courageous and moving story of liberation, as well as a humor-filled celebration of the human spirit.
In The Trip to Bountiful, Carrie Watts (Tyson) begrudgingly lives with her busy, overprotective son, Ludie (Underwood) and pretentious daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae (Williams).  No longer able to drive and forbidden to travel alone, she wishes for freedom from the confines of the house and begs her son to take her on a visit to her hometown of Bountiful.  When he refuses, Mrs. Watts is undeterred and makes an escape to the local bus station, where she befriends Thelma (Palmer), a young woman traveling home.  When Ludie and Jessie Mae discover she is gone, they call in law enforcement to help, but Mrs. Watts is one step ahead of them and convinces the local sheriff to help her on her journey home to Bountiful.
Foote originally wrote The Trip to Bountiful for television in 1953 and it made its Broadway debut in 1954.  The play was adapted into a motion picture in 1985, when star Geraldine Page won an Academy Award® for Best Actress and Foote was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.  In the 2013 Broadway revival, the play garnered four Tony nominations, including Best Revival of a Play, Best Featured Actress in a Play, Best Sound Design and a win for Cicely Tyson for Best Actress in a Play for her role as Carrie Watts.

Produced by Ostar Productions, The Trip to Bountiful is executive produced by Bill Haber (Rizzoli & Isles), Cicely Tyson, Hallie Foote and Jeff Hayes (A Day Late and a Dollar Short).  Michael Wilson, who directed the celebrated play, makes his television directorial debut with this project.

Now Through March 16th!
Special thanks to Eric Andrews who attended Big Apple Circus on behalf of 3decades3kids.

Recently we were invited to attend the Big Apple Circus- Luminocity in Bridgewater, NJ.
It was an amazing experience.
From the city of bright lights and theatrical performances comes the Big Apple Circus:
Luminocity. A production equally as impressive as the Broadway shows from which the circus draws it’s namesake. Allusions to those big city roots are everywhere, with New York City scenery, and its traditions configured to the quintessential acts found in a traditional circus.
In only his second year as Ring Master of the Big Apple Circus, John Kennedy Kane leads a cast of unique acts like Rob Torres and Pierre Ginet, who will entertain and delight with their antics. The Duo Guerrero who capture an entire audience in bated breath, as they perform their act of balance and concentration high above the ring without the safety of a net. You’ll be nothing short of amazed by free ladder performer Daniel Cyr and the Acro Duo with their impressive feats of agility and strength. Catch a glimpse of what got Ty Tojo at 14 into the Guinness Book of World Records, and see Mongolian Angels performing their world renown aerial show.

Imagine what it’s like to fly as the  DosovTroupe transform themselves into human projectiles. What circus would be complete without it’s fair share of animals, whom trainer Jenny Videbel communicates with a smile and much ease. All this to the back drop of a Live Band whose performance alone can hold the show.

Whole family entertainment, both young and old will find something to be amused at visiting the Big Apple Circus: Lumonocity. The circus keeps with it s tradition of providing new and refreshing acts from year to year, guaranteeing you an entirely new show if you have been before in the past. With engaging opportunities for the audience’s participation, this two hour show-with a 20 minute intermission, never has a dull minute. Go see it for yourself.
