Happy 30th Anniversary
Cabbage Patch Kids
and Giveaway
30 years ago something magical happened in a cabbage patch, the first Cabbage Patch Kid was born!
During the past thirty years many many more Cabbage Patch Kids were born and adopted by loving families all over. It’s hard to believe it’s been so many years since these little lovebugs have made their way into our homes and hearts. Through the years there have been additions and changes, but the fact remains that you can always tell a Cabbage Patch Kid by it’s unique and adorable look. Each and every one still comes along with it’s birth and adoption certificate. How can you help but not love Cabbage Patch dolls?
Recently, my family was invited to share in the fun of celebrating a big Happy 30th Birthday with the Cabbage Patch dolls!

| Emily’s 30th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kid! |
The day was a dream come true from both my daughter and myself. We were thrilled to get an up close look at dolls that were on display from the very beginning up to the current doll. What an amazing experience! It was incredible to see the happiness and excitement in her eyes as she looked over all the choices of dolls before choosing one to make her very own. We were treated like gold as Emily visited station after station gathering up all necessities to take care of her newly adopted Cabbage Patch Kid. Her first stop was at the Birth Certificate station where she received an official birth certificate for her new friend. She also took the pledge to care and love the new addition to our family. My daughter also had the pleasure of having her hair styled along with her Cabbage Patch Kid! They both chose pink extensions (no surprise there) along with some bows. What an adorable station that made every little girl there feel like a princess!

The day was filled with celebration and station after station to visit! Emily loved the story telling station where she was able to hear all about how Cabbage Patch Kids are born! Although this was not her first Cabbage Patch Kid, Emily definitely has a much better understanding of how special Cabbage Patch Kids really are to everyone who loves one of their own. By the end of the stations Emily’s diaper bag was overflowing with diapers, rattles, binkys, bottles, bracelets, stickers and more

I remember that my cousin got one the first year they came out when they were so scarce. Cabbage Patch dolls were to first toy that I ever knew of there being a crazed shortage for. My cousin still has her doll but not the packaging. I got both my girls a cabbage patch as a child and would love this for my granddaughter.
I am following on pinterest also.
I am an Instagram and Twitter follower.
Awesome!
I remember standing on line at Toys-R-Us at the back door where they were handing them out. =)
I remember people went crazy looking for this as everyone had to have one. They were one of the biggest toys to ever hit the shelves.
loved these when I was a kid unfortunately I wasn’t able to have one due to finances.
My favorite memory was my very first Cabbage Patch doll that my mom had to order for me because they were sold out everywhere.
I have so many! I used to climb the orange tree in the back yard and sit up there with my Cabbage Patch doll and tell her what everything was we were looking at.
My middle daughter who is since deceased had a huge collection of Cabbage Patch dolls. The one I remember the most came from Japan by a good friend.
I wanted a Cabbage Patch for a year before my mom surprised me with one for my 8th birthday. I was so happy.

I still remember getting my first Cabbage Patch Kid. Then the next year for Chanukah my cousin made us matching outfit. So many wonderful memories 🙂

I still have one of my CPK in the basement–good times 🙂
Being able to give my very own cabbage patch kid doll to my daughter just this year. Watching her love on a doll that’s over 30 years old that I loved for so many years…it still brings tears to my eyes.
I had a Cabbage Patch doll that tanned when you put her out in the sun, I absolutely love it!
I remember that my parents couldn’t afford them when they came out. I didn’t get mine until they had started adding glasses and front teeth and I was probably a little too old to even be getting one. I didn’t care, though… Maryanne Violet was and is still well-loved and I appreciated my parents saving up to make my wish come true.
I still have one of my original Cabbage Patch dolls from almost 30 years ago. They celebrated the big 3-0 like I did this year!!

My sister and I got our first CPK for Christmas one year. I later found out the my mother and neighbor had to camp out overnight to get hem. (this was before camping out was the norm)
I remember my mother getting in line early to hopefully buy a Cabbage Patch Doll when they were hard to get in the early 1980’s. She got one for my daughter who was around 1 year old. She is 30 and still has her Cabbage Patch Doll.
