The Met: Live in HD Summer 2013 Encores is a series of some to the best and most well attended performances that were transmitted from the Metropolitan Opera. This groundbreaking series has become extremely popular since its inception in 2006 – now reaching over 1900 theaters in 64 countries. This summer the four most popular transmissions will be shown again in special one night presentations. The titles include:
Bizet’s “Carmen” (June 19), original performance in 2010 and the most-attended event in the program’s history starring Elina Garanča and Roberto Alagna

Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” (June 26), original performance in 2011, starring Sondra Radvanovsky, Dolora Zajick, Marcelo Álvarez and Dmitri Hvorostovsky

Rossini’s “Armida” (July 10), original performance in 2010, starring Renée Fleming and Lawrence Brownlee
·
Verdi’s “La Traviata” (July 17), original performance in 2012, starring Natalie Dessay, Matthew Polenzani and Dmitiri Hvorostovsky
