Recently my family had the pleasure of attending another Monster Jam Path of Destruction Show at Met Life Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. We have gone to quite a few of them in the past couple of years. It seems that this outdoor one is just a family favorite. All that open air and a much bigger  base for the show to take place on just ups the energy. This year we were treated to a special Track Walk before the show started. It was amazing to be out there alone with no one in the stands, especially knowing that within hours the place would be filled with people screaming wildly for their favorite truck and driver. My sons had the chance to ride in one of the before the show starts- Pit Party rides. If you get there early you can attend the Pit Party, meet the drivers and get a close up look at some of your favorite Monster Trucks. We just love the Pit Party! It really gets you into the right mood to enjoy the rest of the night at Monster Jam. Of course Adam thought it was great to see the Superman Truck, since we had just seen Man of Steel a few nights before.

Sparks were flying when the show began!
Not a Soul in the Stands! 
 Monster Jam at Met Life Stadium is such a success that Met Life Stadium widened
one of its entrances so the Monster Trucks could actually fit through.
At last year’s event each truck had to take off its’ tires in order to
 fit through the entrance and them get them attached back on once they were through. It was interesting to watch, but what a hassle for the trucks! 
This year they could breeze right in!
We also found out that the dirt on the field is all owned by Feld and brought in from 
South Jersey. Just a few things I thought I would share. 
As for the show, it was awesome as usual! If you have not been to 
Monster Jam yet, don’t wait any longer. It’s fun for the entire family, and 
and ageless event. My six year old loves it as much as my 87 year old Dad!
If you are bringing someone who is a little young or noise sensitive, don’t forget the earplugs. If you do, don’t worry, they sell them there!
Of course with Emily being a Monster Truck fan, she naturally gravitated to the PINKness
of Madusa (Debrah Miceli)! I was lucky enough to get to chat with her during an interview.

Let’s Chat With Madusa Monster Truck Driver

Interview between Debrah Miceli and Diane Sullivan.
Diane: Have you always been a Monster Truck Driver?
Debrah: Actually, I was a wrestler for 18 years before ever driving a monster truck!
Diane: How did you get your start with Monster Jam?
Debrah: Monster Jam approached me with a call. They wanted me to come out and
try out driving a truck. I had never driven one before. I have driven four wheelers and
my Harley but never a monster truck. I went in, gave it a try and loved it.
The Monster Jam people thought I had what it took, thought I was a natural,
 so here I am thirteen years later!

Diane: Is there only one Madusa Monster Truck?
Debrah: Just one truck- Madusa, and one driver-me!

Diane: What’s the most exciting and scariest moment of driving the truck?
Debrah: Every time I get into the truck. There is a huge rush of energy.
Diane: What was your ultimate moment in Monster Truck driving?
Debrah: My ultimate moment had to be beating Dennis Anderson in Las Vegas in
the Monster Jam World Finals. I was the only woman ever to win.


Diane: Any advice to your fans, especially little girls and women?
Debrah: I’m a big advocate for women. I believe with a little bit of hope and faith you can 
become the best you can be at whatever you choose to do. You have to have pizazz. You can’t buy it, you have to create it within yourself. Remember to take the hard times and change them 
into a positive in your life!

New Jersey is awesome this summer with the NJ State Faie taking over now through July 7th right here in East Rutherford, NJ! Check out all the deals below to save even more money! Not to mention we have 2 Four Packs of Free Admission tickets for you to use ANY NIGHT of the Fair! Tix are for admission only. (Rides are separate).
  1. • Admission is FREE any day for children under 34” (ride tickets available for purchase inside fair)
  2. • Parking is FREE Monday thru Wednesday; $1 Opening Night; $4 other days and July 3
  3. • Opening Dollar Preview Night – Friday, June 21. Admission is $2; Rides, games, parking and select food and drinks cost a dollar each.
  4. • Kids Go Free – Tuesday, June 25; Children 12 and younger are admitted Free. Unlimited Ride Hand Stamps are available for $20 – Parking is Free
  5. • Midnight Madness – Friday night, June 28, from 10 pm to 1 am, rides AND admission are $25.00

Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, visitors to the NBC 4 and New York Giants Health & Fitness Expo, a free event being held inside MetLife Stadium, will get a free hand stamp to enter State Fair between the hours of 11 and 2 pm. State Fair Meadowlands is the largest fair in the New York metro area, with over 150 rides and attractions on over 35 acres of fairgrounds. Entertainment is always free with entry ticket, providing fairgoers with all-day access to the Racing Pigs, the Big Cat Encounter, Circus Maximus, Hypnotist Steve Bayner, and more. Acres and acres of delicious food will be on offer, including gyros, sausage and peppers, Hibachi, corn dogs, funnel cakes, turkey legs, blooming onions, candied apples, curly fries, deep-fried Oreos, corn on the cob, ice cream, and more.

This year, Sprint will be sponsoring a special event called NBA Nation Tour, which will offer fairgoers the chance to meet and greet past and present NBA players, try out an agility course and competitive skills challenge. The Tour, which will take place inside the fairgrounds, is FREE with Fair admission and is scheduled for Friday, June 28, 6 pm to 1 am; Saturday, June 29, 2 pm to 1 am; and Sunday, June 30, 2 pm to 12 am. Parking is free Monday through Wednesday, and $4 Thursdays through Sundays, and July 3rd. Opening night, parking is just $1. The fair will be offering free shuttle buses from/to Secaucus Junction Fridays 6 pm to midnight (excludes Opening Day); Saturdays, 4 pm to midnight; Sundays, from 4 pm to midnight; July 3 from 6 pm to midnight; and July 4, from 4 pm to midnight.
