Dorney Park Kicks Off Halloween Haunt and Boo! Blast Sept 19th

Although Wildwater Kingdom may be closed for the season and an autumn chill in the air but, Dorney Park has plenty of events lined up this fall to bring families together. Daytime family fun can be found at Boo!Blast, with kid friendly activities such as mask making, pumpkin painting and a petting zoo. As darkness falls, Dorney Park transforms into a horror-filled nightmare for the seventh season of Halloween HAUNT driven by SafeAuto. New for 2014, Dorney Park turns Sunday into FUNday with an Oktoberfest style All You Can Eat Meal complete with beer tasting featuring Sam Adams seasonal favorites.

On September 21 & 28, there is something for everyone at Dorney Park. In addition to Boo!Blast activities in Howl-o-Fest Cove for younger guests from Noon – 5pm, Dorney Park will host an All You Can Eat Buffet from 1:00-5:00pm of Oktoberfest favorites such as Foot Long Frankfurters and Apple Roasted Pork. Of course, an Oktoberfest celebration would not be complete without games and beer tasting! Guests will be able to purchase individual 12 oz samples or a flight of 7 oz samples of Sam Adam’s seasonal brews at the meal, including Jack-O Traveler, Samuel Adam’s Oktoberfest, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Samuel Adam’s Boston Lager, and Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale. Sam Adam’s Pumpkin Ale will be available in bottles. Meal tickets to Oktoberfest can be purchased with park admission online for $37.99. Meal tickets are $15.99 separately or $10.99 for Season Passholders. All prices are plus tax.

            Guests looking for a more haunted experience this weekend will find plenty of scares during Halloween Haunt. New for 2014, Dorney Park has expanded its Fright Lane program. Guests with a Fright Lane pass can now unlock more scares in six mazes in Skeleton Key rooms that contain more intense and interactive scares requiring a task to be completed in order to be released into the rest of the maze. Also exclusive to Fright Lane guests is access to an all new maze, BLACKOUT, where your fear of the dark is tested. Fright Lane is available online or at the park for as low as $35 per person.

Dorney Park also introduces a new maze this fall, Madame Plarr’s Chamber of Horrors Wax Museum. Guests will enter through a red carpet queue line into the museum, where the exhibits are so life-like guests may even think they are alive! The clowns of the former Psycho Circus maze have been moved to a new outdoor scare zone in CarnEvil, located in Hydra Plaza. This scare zone will also feature a new live entertainment show, Skeleton Crew. This high-energy action show debuts to park guests on Friday, September 26. These experiences are added to guest favorite attractions such as Cornstalkers, a corn maze where the scarecrows are not so friendly, and Mansion House Hotel, complete with a VIP option to dine in the haunted house, will make this year’s event larger and scarier than ever before!

With the kid-sized fun of Boo!Blast, cheers of Oktoberfest and scares of Halloween Haunt in addition to world class coasters and thrills rides, Dorney Park is the premier destination of fall family entertainment. You Are Invited to Experience NBC Blindspot This Weekend in NYC

Recently fans of NBC’s Heroes Reborn were invited to an extra special interactive experience in Times Square NYC. Although my daughter is a little young for the show, she still had an amazing time partnering with me for the green screen experience that landed us on a giant billboard in Times Square. Just before we were treated to a 4D virtual reality interactive show where our super powers were revealed and then used to help out in an actual Heroes Reborn scene. Pure Awesomeness! My super power was fire power as shown above in the photo.

Tim Kring (Creator/Executive Producer) , who originally  imagined NBC’s 2006 “Heroes” series, we now can look forward to,”Heroes Reborn,” an epic 13-episode event series that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. Now, here is some awesome news!! There is another great celebration going on this weekend in NYC! I’m sure by this time you have heard about NBC Blindspot. Personally, I just cannot wait for this one. If you don’t know about it here is a quick synopsis- A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity. So, this weekend you are invited to be a part of the NBC Blindspot experience. Saturday and Sunday, Sept 18 & 19th you can feel what it is like to wake up in Times Square covered with tattoos. The Blindspot experience will green screen you into a tattooed body and then share your pic on the billboard. Get the cameras and phones ready. You are not going to want to miss a pic of yourself on the gigantic Times Square Blindspot billboard. You can catch the Premiere of NBC Blindspot on September 21- Mondays at 10 pm.

You’re Invited!- NBC Takes Times Square

Location: Times Square – Pedestrian Plaza – Broadway between 46th & 47th Streets

Dates/Times: September 19 from 11am-8pm / September 20 from 11am-8pm

Experience: Pedestrians will have the chance to partake in a photo opportunity where their head will be placed on a fully tattooed body, similar to “Blindspot” character Jane Doe. These photos will be featured on the massive Times Square digital billboard, as well as be printed for each individual and shared socially. An on-site tattoo bar will give out temporary half-sleeve “Blindspot” tattoos as well. Finally, 10 fully tattooed Jane Doe look-alikes will be walking around Times Square handing out temporary tattoos to promote awareness for the series.

    Coffee lovers unite. You are going to want to hear all about the new Touch Brewer T526S Brewing System For Single Cup Coffee. Hubby and I have always been coffee fans forever. Being two teachers we started every morning with a big ole’ pot of coffee- leaving for school with half a pot to go to waste every single day. Not this year. Well, it’s just hubby who is still teaching but we do enjoy that special cup of coffee every morning together. We have both been taken for the easiness and quality of the Touch Brewer.

Five reasons hubby and I both adore the Touch Brewer:

1. The Touch Brewer is quick and easy. It’s ready to start brewing in under twenty seconds after being off all night. That is so important. Who wants to wait forever for the coffee maker to warm up before use. I like to wake up in the morning and get the coffee within minutes of my feet hitting the floor.

Touchcoffeewatertank2. I absolutely love the water tank holder. It comes OFF of the rest of the unit. It’s easy to fill and it’s super easy to dump and clean. You do not have “run through” the water you do not use. You can just dump and clean and add fresh water whenever you choose to. This is such an incredible feature. I’m not sure I can ever switch to another brand after seeing this dynamic feature. Its removable 90-ounce water tank has a greater capacity and is shorter in height than its counterparts, meaning you will be refilling less often, and it will be less awkward when you do.

The flavor is rich when choosing any of the size choices. The hot water has more contact with the coffee grounds, which ensures that all of the coffee flavor is extracted. Other machines take much longer to warm up and then shoot water through the coffee grounds too quickly, so you end up throwing away untapped flavor with the used capsule. Even with a slower, more deliberate brew, when factoring in the warm-up time, the Touch still turns out a cup of joe in a fraction of the time. The taste of the coffee can definitely rival the pay coffee chains. I would know- I brew at home and I buy outside. I’m a three-four cup a day coffeegal.

touchcoffeetouch4.  Touch’s single serve cups are larger than traditional K-Cups, allowing more coffee grounds. More coffee means bigger, bolder flavor. I love how the Touch Brewer is compatible with Portion Packs, including K-Cup packs, XBold Cup and XLarge Cup. Did I mention there are EIGHT  Cup Size choices? You can choose 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 ,16 18 and 26 ounce cups to brew. There is also a carafe 26oz pot & Refill Jumbo Cup. I call that a win! The Touch Brewer also comes with an extra cup that you can fill with your own ground coffee. That is a perk for anyone like me that runs out of K-cups all the time. 

5. The Touch Brewer is simple and looks great. It will look nice in your kitchen or office. It’s sleek and fits great on the counter. I was really not expecting to love the Touch Brewer as much I do. I thought I would just try it and then box it, but it is taking up permanent residence on our counter and getting put to the test a few times daily.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Review: This Gaming Family Loves It!

Our family has been waiting forever for Disney Infinity 3.0, okay well it feels like forever. All I can say is that we have been counting down the days until we could play that game in our own living room. We tried it out a couple of times along the way and loved it at first sight. Being a gaming family is already fun, but being a Disney gamer family is just a magical experience for everyone. When our Disney Infinity 3.0 box of awesome arrived our family just about hit the roof!

Disney Infinity 3.0 brings the complete Star Wars experience to your living room. The game offers players the opportunity to play as all of their favorite characters from the classic movies, along with television shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Wars Rebels. Another amazing thing about Disney Infinity 3.0 is the Toy Box mode, where your imagination can run wild, and you can bring all of your Disney fantasies to life. My children loved getting the chance to have characters like Yoda and Mulan race around a track that they created in the Toy Box. There a re lots of things to do in this sandbox environment, like building racetracks, arenas, scenic landscapes, or recreating some of your favorite Disney attractions! On top of the Toy Box Mode,  Disney Infinity 3.0 also includes the outstanding Twilight of the Republic set, which takes place in the time period of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the prequel trilogy.

Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic is a great set that is perfect for all Star Wars fans. It features a cast of familiar faces, and some of the most threatening enemies in the galaxy. Throughout the campaign, you will encounter foes such as General Grievous, Cad Bane, and Darth Maul. In Disney Infinity 3.0, the combat system has also been reworked, giving the lightsaber combat a realistic, fast, and fun feel. The Twilight of the Republic set tells an interesting tale, and has a lot of different variations in gameplay throughout the campaign. In some levels, players will find themselves engaged in on-foot combat with Battle Droids and other enemies from the Star Wars universe, while in other levels players may be battling enemy ships in space. The Twilight of the Republic set is fantastic, and is the Clone Wars adventure many have waited for!

 Another thing that makes Disney Infinity 3.0 shine is the new Toy Box Takeover mode.  Toy Box Takeover is a Toy Box Game. It is similar to Disney Infinity 2.0‘s Escape from the Kyln and Brave: Forest Siege. Toy Box Takeover pits your full roster of Disney Infinitycharacters against Syndrome and other iconic villains, as you travel across many different environments facing many challenges. The game is a lot of fun, and is a great way to level up your Toy Box characters.

 Disney Infinity 3.0 is an all-around incredible game for Disney and Star Wars fans! The Toy Box is a place players can become lost in for hours while creating their next Disney masterpiece, the  Twilight of the Republic set is superb, and the new  Toy Box Takeover is a great addition to the game.
