Netflix Helped Us To Ring In The New Year!

Netflix has been a daily household name for the past two years. Honestly, I’m not sure what we even watched before we were introduced to Netflix! Being on the Stream Team has and is an amazing experience for our entire family. Just before New Year’s Eve a surprise box arrived from Netflix filled with goodies to help us celebrate the New Year in style and at whatever time we wanted, as posted previously. This year Netflix offered six different countdowns that could be shared with your little ones at any time of the night. Although everyone here makes it till the midnight hour we did have fun watching all of them and countdown in anticipation of 12:00 am! 

As soon as our box of fun arrived, so did the fun! My daughter took it upon herself to be the official balloon blower upper! She was quite amazing at it if I do say so myself. She came up with a super idea- which was to decorate our Christmas tree with Netflix balloons, little signs of her favorite shows, streamers, blowers, etc. It looks pretty festive by the time it was done. We all loved it. Next we spruced up the kitchen table with our favorite show posters, more balloons and some choices for all of the family to party with. We even broke out the light up punch bowl and created, “Puffin Punch”! It was delicious and was a combo of juices and some fizzy waters! A perfect way to celebrate.

We also came up with a special Netflix dessert, “Project MC2 Test Tube ice cream cake sundae”. Okay, it was New Year’s Eve so any idea or recipe sounded good to me! Not to mention that it all kept with the Netflix party theme. My daughter also deemed the blowers to be Care Bear Cousins blowers, since they came in various colors! 

So after we watched all six countdowns on Netflix we were more than well rehearsed when the big countdown finally arrived at 11:59pm! In our living room that I’m sure is as big as some people’s pocketbook, we partied, we laughed, we smooched, and we celebrated as a family. From the parents (us), to grandpa who’s 89, to all the kids and one girlfriend we had one of the best New Year’s Eve parties to date! And what did we do the next day on New Year’s Day….watched Netflix of course!! From our family to yours: Happy New Year!
