Parents, You Are Going To Love The New
Disney App- Disney Imagicademy
This morning I had the pleasure of attending the kick off of something I have only heard dribs and drabs about along the way. Disney Imagicademy was unveiled to a intimate group of Disney media and bloggers at the Intrepid Museum in NYC.
Being a mom of three and a former teacher who spent twenty years making sure children were engaged in their learning made me chomp at the bit to find out any information on this new Disney venture. Of course Disney has a way of making learning fun and creating ways for children to play as they learn. Go Disney! You are very much my hero!
We were graced with Boby Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products. He shared the background of coming up with Disney Imagicademy by serving parents needs for apps to progress with levels. It looks like Disney has it with the upcoming apps for sure. We are at an age now where children are learning from apps and parents are looking for quality!



Disney Imagicademy will debut on December 11th with the ipad app, Mickey’s Magical Math World which is loaded with math activities- sorting, counting, etc. There are add on activities that range from $4.99-$19.99 for the complete set. Frozen fans can rejoice, too. Our Anna, Elsa and friends will soon be helping our children understand and gain more knowledge in the Science department! There is also an extension of interactive toys and books in the works.
You can also follow along as a parent with your own partner app on your device. There you can check in our the progress of your little one and even give a digital high five from miles away! Yay! This app will also suggest offline activities to complete together or as a family. What I loved the most about the entire program of apps is that it is curriculum driven. That is music to my ears as a mom and teacher.
PS. An Mickey Mouse Smart Toy is coming, too in 2015! He will interact with the apps! Go Disney.

Who doesn’t love Peter Pan? Being a BoyMom for 16 years before Emily arrived has made me an expert at all things Peter Pan and especially Captain Hook. I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours of my life were spent on the living room floor being a pirate, or Peter Pan or Captain Hook!
So when our family heard  about Peter Pan Live, we knew it would definitely be a Must Watch!
Tonight is finally the night! It is going to be awesome to see Christopher Walken as Captain Hook!
We will definitely be tuned in at 8pm NBC. We’ll also be tweeting live throughout the movie.

Going to Disney On Ice has become a family tradition over the past many years. It has been a very long time since we have seen a Disney On Ice show where there is just one storyline. This time although the show began and ended with many of our Disney favorites including princesses, Timon and Pumba, Toy Story friends and more there was only one concentration once the actual story began, Frozen! In one word the show was- Amazing! It totally lived up to all the Frozen hype that is still running wild a year after its theater release. 
Many of the girls dressed to the nines in their Anna or Elsa gown waving their newly purchased wands and singing along to every single song. I think if the music stopped the crowd could have carried it on their own. I know Em was singing at the top of her lungs. Of course no one really noticed since adults along with children joined into the well known Frozen tunes that have been spinning in our heads forever now. The show stays true to story form- beginning right at the start of the story and going straight on through to the end. Did I mention the skating was phenomenal? It was just incredible. Between the skating, story and song this is one Disney on Ice not to be missed by anyone.
Everyone has a favorite part, right? Mine was the SNOW! There was plenty of snow, like a blizzard. It was absolutely wonderful! I guarantee you will feel like you have been transported to Arendelle!
