Day 3 of our Disney vacation was especially wonderful. We checked and settled into our 6th floor room at The Animal Kingdom Lodge. Since we have been Disney Vacation Club members since 1997, we are always ready to try something new. This year we made a reservation for the top floor, the Kilimanjaro Club Level with Concierge Service of Jambo House. This is one fine secret hiding within the confines of the Disney property.

Our specialty treatment began the moment we said we were checking into the Club level. We were taken out of the line and escorted by a Disney hostess up to the 6th floor where there was a private check in desk just for the use of the ten rooms on the top level. 
We were set up with our room and also any reservations we had in mind. We were also reminded of the extra offerings only available on the Concierge Level. We felt so pampered and relaxed that we decided to give up a day at the parks just to take in the atmosphere and perks of the 6th floor, which also has a special elevator key that only allows guests of the ten rooms to use.

There are different rooms to choose from out of the ten, but whatever one you choose, you will not be disappointed.
Staying on the Concierge Club Level, you wake up to the newspaper at your door and the scent of breakfast and coffee nearby. Steps from your room you can enjoy a continental breakfast in your personal 6th floor lounge. But, that is not the end of the dining for the day. Something is waiting for you from 7am-10pm. Delicious snacks, samples from Boma and Jinko were served in abundance. We even had the chance to sample some delicious wines imported from Africa. 
Turn down service was provided every night and really added that special touch to the evening. Returning to the room to find chocolates in the form of ostriches and giraffes, a chocolate Animal Kingdom Lodge heart, and mints were just delightful to all the senses. 


You can also enjoy soft robes for your use during your stay, along with other specialties refreshed into your room each day.
The only problem I found with staying on the 6th floor is that you may never want to leave it. The concierge service is top notch and you are always referred to by name.

Recently, I had the chance to attend a screening of Hubble 3D at the new IMAX at the AMC  Clifton Commons 16, Clifton, NJ. I would be fibbing if I did not say that I had a wonderful experience. The IMAX at Clifton Commons is a perfect location for the Newark area. The AMC theater is already wonderful and with this addition, it has only gotten better.
I am so looking forward to the official opening of The IMAX Experience on September 9, 2011 with a special ribbon cutting ceremony by the Mayor and some added surprises. Not to mention seeing CONTAGION rated PG13! I’m sure it will be just one of many movies my family and I will be enjoying at the new IMAX Experience at Clifton Commons!

FOX Presents NEW GIRL -Sept. 20, 2011 My Sneak Peek!

The other night I was lucky enough to attend the New York New Girl Party, thanks to BoysRuleOurWorld . It was hosted at the beautiful Hudson Terrace located on the Hudson River, NYC.
New Girl debuts Sept. 20th on Fox network. The lucky attendees to the party did not have to wait. As we sipped on drinks of choice and delicious delicacies, we were treated to a sneak peek of New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel as Jess Day. Playing an adorable geeky hilarious character who is going through a rough breakup(as we all have at one point or another), she moves in with three male roommates and the fun begins! 
Nick, played by Jake Johnson, Schmidt, played by Max Greenfield and Coach, played by Damon Wayan’s Jr. really sew up the cast into a laugh after laugh comedy. Jess also does have a best friend (what would life be without one) Cece, (Hannah Simone).
The complex, yet simple mix of these five characters had me intrigued with anticipation of what would happen next. This single-camera comedy shot by Liz Meriwether has just the right mix of comedy and compassion to keep us all coming back for more. I personally cannot wait to see what the upcoming season has to bring as we are introduced to New Girl.

Disney Vacation Club..What A Great Decision!

Once a year our family tries to take a wonderful vacation to Disney World in Florida. Almost fifteen years ago, my husband and I purchased a time share through Disney called Disney Vacation Club. At that time we had a 6 year old and we spent a lot of time in Florida. Well, fourteen years later we now are a family of five, with a 20,12 and 4 year old and we still try to spend time in Florida.
We would not be able to vacation at Walt Disney World without Disney Vacation Club. The club is based on points and different than other timeshares because there is no set time to use your points. It’s not based on a week or a time frame. When you want to visit Disney, you simply call and make a reservation. You can use as little as 10 points to reserve a room, depending on the time of year you travel. We always travel during July and August, so our room generally goes for about 14-20 points. Of course with a larger family you need a larger room, or as we do, we book two rooms. The buy-in to DVC (Disney Vacation Club) is 150 points.
The rooms are beautiful no matter what resort you choose to stay at. You are free to book at any of the DVC resorts on Disney property. Since we booked our vacation just days before we left, we ended up moving from resort to resort in order to stay where we wanted. Other resorts were available for the entire length of our stay, be we chose to skip around! Disney moves your luggage from one hotel to the next, so you just check out in the morning and your luggage meets you when you check into the next resort.

Our family loves Disney World, but since it is a little pricey, we tend to spend some time at the resorts which have their own activities and wonderful pools, each with a unique slide! 

The Disney Vacation Club is not just for trips to Disney! We have used our points to stay in NYC, Hershey and other locations. With DVC you can find a location anywhere in the world! The latest resort is in the final stages now in Hawaii. The DVC points can also be used at the Disneyland resorts!
Every year when we visit Florida my husband and I agree that buying into DVC was one of our smartest decisions. Without it, our vacation would be in our living room!
