Chizi’s Tale A True Story of An Orphaned Baby Black Rhino

Chizi’s Tale A True Story of An Orphaned Baby Black Rhino

Recently I had the privilege of attending a special event commemorating the release of Chizi’s Tale, a children’s book about an orphaned baby black rhino and the family who took him in and helped him survive. In the story, a pair of park rangers in Zimbabwe discover a young black rhino, only a day old, who had been abandoned by his mother. When they inform the park manager about this, he nobly decides to take care of the rhino himself, bringing it home to live with his family. Chizi’s Tale tells the story of the year that the young rhino (named Chisiwana, or “Orphaned One”– Chizi for short) spent with the family, and shows us how he grew and interacted with the family.

This story of friendship, bravery, and social consciousness is an adorable and well-written introduction to greater issues like endangered species and caring for the earth’s wildlife.  In keeping with that goal, 100 percent of the author proceeds from the book will be donated to Tusk.org, a charity dedicated to supporting wildlife, communities, and education in Africa. The book stands as a hallmark of Peek-A-Boo Publishing’s inaugural season, proudly carrying the publisher’s focus on diversity and innovation in storytelling.

Chizi’s Tale is an inspirational and heartwarming story that your whole family is sure to love– it’s already a hit with ours! http://chizistale.com

Ubisoft E3 Roundup #E3 #ubisoft

In my house, E3 is a great time of year! My son loves playing all of the newest releases from Ubisoft, especially the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and my daughter is a huge fan of the Just Dance games. It’s great to have kids that span the gaming ages from child to mature! Woot! Woot! I can finally get my gaming on across the spectrum!  Ubisoft’s conference went into great detail about those two franchises, but also introduced a bunch of new games that my son and I can’t wait to play! Take a look below at all of Ubisoft’s smash hit titles that will be releasing soon!

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
Today at Ubisoft’s E3 Conference, a new cinematic trailer was shown for the newest entry in the smash-hit Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. In the new trailer, we saw the grappling hook in action. We were also treated to an intense chase scene through the streets of Industrial Revolution-era England.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole
In this brand new adventure from the twisted minds of Matt Stone and Trey Parker comes South Park: The Fractured But Whole. This game is a sequel to 2014’s South Park: The Stick of Truth, but in this game, the boys are no longer playing a real life RPG, but instead dressing up like superheroes. South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC soon!
For Honor
In Ubisoft’s brand new IP For Honor, gamers will have the true experience of melee combat. For Honor features an innovative combat system that allows players to feel the impact of every single strike of their blade. For Honor will be available soon on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC soon!

Tom Clancy’s The Division

At E3, Ubisoft offered a brand new look into the world of Tom Clancy’s The Division, an incredible multiplayer game set in the a post-apocalyptic New York in which players will work together and form alliances. The game features a dynamic open world where players will struggle and fight for survival. Tom Clancy’s The Division releases on March 8, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC!

Monster Jam Party In The Pits- You Should Definitely Do It!

11410526_1596273603989032_1242117052_n

One of our favorite family activities to to attend is Monster Jam! We love it when it takes place indoors and outdoors. If you are thinking about attending Monster Jam and wondering if you should attend the Party in the Pits, you definitely should do it! The outdoor Pit Party at grounds of Met Life Stadium is especially fun! First of all, it’s huge! It’s like a Monster Jam fun fair! There are SO many monster trucks and you can meet your favorite drivers! Emily’s favorite is the driver of Medusa and has been for years now, so it is always first on our list. You can expect lines, but it’s so worth it when you get to the front of the line and see the smiles on your kids’ faces, and of course your own.

monsterjampitpartymedusa Monsterjamhotwheels

There are a ton of giveaways throughout the Pit Party- from fans to bags, to Monster Energy drinks, suntan lotion, and more! There is even a place to create a “Fan Sign” to use later at the show! One of Em’s favorite stops today was at the Hotwheels section! There she could play with all the latest Hot Wheels today and even race her car against other kids. So much fun! Girls like Hotwheels, too!

monsterjampitpartygravedigger  monsterjampitpartyfox

Everywhere we turned there was something else to do! We ran into the Fox Sports robot, got to check out a police car from inside and out watch some motor cross and quads in action. If you choose to you can grab a ride in monster truck that holds about ten people (additional cost). There were also face painters and balloon artists on hand along with music that you will not be able to resist dancing to. It’s hard to believe that you can have all this fun even before the official Monster Jam Competition has begun!

If you are thinking of going to the Party In The Pits and wondering if it is worth the extra ticket, it is. You can get an up close of just how huge the Monster Trucks are, meet the drivers for pics and autographs, grab some food, and just have some good ole fun! Please remember that you do need a ticket to the Monster Jam show in order to attend the Pit Party! See you there! Check out everything Monster Jam right here: http://www.monsterjam.com/
