Disney’s Finding Dory Is Amazing- In Theaters Now. See it in Dolby Cinema at AMC For the Ultimate Movie Experience

If there is one thing our family loves, it’s going to the movies. We love all kinds of movies and all kinds of theaters. Until today I thought we had experienced them all. But, today our family had the first time experience of viewing Finding Dory in the Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters. We had the pleasure of enjoying it at the AMC Empire- 42nd Street- NYC.  The Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters is a movie-goer’s dream come true. From the extra roomy seats that are reserved just for you to the back and front reclining chair action. You are set for whatever movie you plan on seeing.

For our family it was Disney’s Finding Dory. If you are a fan of Disney’s Finding Nemo you will definitely love this lovely sequel. In Finding Dory, Dory has a flashback and actually remembers that she does have a family. Family is the most important part of life, so watching Dory remember parts of her past and take a journey to find her parents was amazing. Seeing the movie in Dolby Cinema at AMC made our own family feel like we were actually in the movie. The screen was huge and crystal clear for dramatic imaging. The moving audio surrounded us throughout the movie. That was especially incredible to our experience. Some of the audio almost made us duck as if a huge wave was about to crash on us! As for the innovative seating, it cannot be beat. With a press of the light up button it was back down into your own comfy position and your feet up as high as you would like them. Did I mention that the seats pulsate? We were already making a list of upcoming movies that will be showing at Dolby Cinema at AMC! Since Disney’s Finding Dory will only be showing at Dolby Cinema at AMC for one week only, you really need to hurry and grab your tickets! You will not want to miss this experience! It was a first for our family, but not a last for sure. I think the only thing that will change is that we will be bringing more family and friends along to enjoy the experience with us.

Ed O’Neill from Modern Family lends his voice to Septopus- who definitely was one of our family’s favorite characters! Hank, Kaitlin Olson voices the beautiful Destiny- childhood friend of Dory and Ty Burrell from Modern Family voices Bailey the beluga whale. Rock This Boat is footage of an actual cruise ship where New Kids On The Block interact with their most loyal of fans. Both the band and fans set out for a four day cruise that is filled with adventure, fun and a lot of singing. It also includes a meet and greet and of course, autographs and hugs! Recently I had a chance to see the first thirty three minutes of the movie and absolutely fell in love with it.Something that is just as important to our family as a good movie is where we see it. With saying that, our family is super pumped about this weekend and seeing Disney’s Finding Dory at the Dolby Cinema at AMC Empire 25. ADD IT UP — There are 64 unique species in Zootopia and most species are unique in topology: elephants have trunks, pigs have snouts; some animals have hooves, some have paws; some have three fingers, some have two.

HAIRY SITUATION – While researching the variety of animals that would inhabit Zootopia, filmmakers learned that not all fur is the same. A strand of polar bear fur is clear—it’s the light reflecting off of it that makes it appear white—and a strand of fox fur is dark at the root, getting lighter till its red tip. Artists strived to replicate their findings to ensure that the animals in “Zootopia” were believable.

LITTLE LAMB – Artists designing Assistant Mayor Bellwether were inspired by the lambs in the old Disney films “Make Mine Music” and “Melody Time.”

FANCY – Artists crafted six unique outfits for Assistant Mayor Bellwether. The chosen fabric, naturally, was wool. Her outfits include a houndstooth dress, a blazer and a little bell in honor of her moniker. She also has an orange dress with a scissor pattern that represents shears.

HEAR ME ROAR – Artists were inspired by Mufasa from Disney’s classic film “The Lion King” when creating the look of Mayor Lionheart.

THE EYES HAVE IT — Clawhauser may not share a real cheetah’s svelte shape, but he does sport the animal’s iconic tear marks—markings that run from the inside corners of his eyes down to the outside edges of his mouth.

ROLL IN THE HAY – In an effort to bolster the animal-feel, artists added bits of debris—hay, leaves, sticks—in the coats of animals like the big sheep and Yax the Yak.

HERE KITTY KITTY – Nathan Warner, director of cinematography-layout, got a pat on the back from a real-life cheetah during their research trip to Africa. The rescued animal that caretakers had introduced to the filmmakers seemingly took offense to the camera Warner carried and leapt up to let him know. Both filmmaker and cat were just fine following the event.

STIFF UPPER LIP – When artists realized that real rabbits actually have a split upper lip, they decided to forego authenticity in this case and kept Judy’s lip all together.

TWEEZE ME – Advances in technology allowed filmmakers to trim the fur that fell beneath clothing so that the garments hung correctly.
