Sony Animation’s Peter Rabbit Movie- BRAND NEW Trailer!!! 

peterrabbitmoviepeterrabbitmovie1I am beyond excited about Sony Animation’s newest movie to hit the screens in early 2018. I have such a sweet love for Peter Rabbit and have spent countless hours reading his stories to all of my children when they were younger. He’s  a perfect mix of mischief, sweetness and curiosity. How can you not just fall in love with this little bunny and all of his friends! The song is playing in my head…Once upon at time..There were four little bunnies, named Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter…. Be sure to stay tuned! Fright Fest Now In Full Swing at Six Flags Great Adventure! Thrills By Day- Frights By Night!

It is that time of year again! For our family it’s one of our favorite times of year- Halloween time! We have been a Halloween family forever. I love everything about  Halloween, from pumpkin carving to apple picking to Trick or Treating. As soon as September hits we start to take advantage of everything Halloween experience we can find. Of course that always includes one of our favorite places, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. Six Flags hosts Fright Fest on weekends throughout Halloween. It’s a great place to take the kids or go with your friends.

One of my favorite things about Six Flags is that you can choose your scare level. Thrills by Day- Frights by Night!  It’s scare free and great for little kids during the day. You have from the park opening until 6pm to enjoy a scare free experience. It’s also a great time to ride all the rides.  There is a Trick- or- treat trail where the kids can meet their favorite characters and then munch on some treats and there are also some Halloween themed shows. If you can only visit during the day it’s still worth it to go. The kids will love it!

If scares is your thing then you definitely want to go during the day and stay until late into the night. At 6pm the park goes from scare free to pure scare. It all starts with The Awakening where you can get a glimpse of all the ghouls that will be creeping through the park all night long. I always get the best of both worlds since I spend the day scare free with my daughter all day and then go into total BoyMom mode all night having fun being scared! Whichever is your choice, don’t miss out on Six Flags this Halloween season.

  • Lady of the Lake Cemetery (Loved it!!!) Great Adventures folklore inspired the newest scare zone, which will surely bring a chill to every guest. Guinevere, a drowned bride cursed by the Jersey Devil, has haunted Jacksons Great Lake for more than a hundred years. Guests can try to spot her spirit in the flowing, white dress as they walk through the mist and monster-filled graveyard.
  • Aftermath (Scary!lol) A post-apocalyptic world becomes a reality as guests try to survive this twisting haunted maze crawling with barbaric, mutant scavengers. This raw experience of a global catastrophe makes nightmares come true. Extra fee required to participate.

  • Wicked Woods (FUN!!)  Fables and folklore from the dark and haunted forests aren’t just for story time anymore. Evil creatures come to life under the creaky and gnarled branches as guests try to escape the night shadows. Extra fee required to participate.
  • Unleashed(Good) Guests will be spellbound by this new theatrical production featuring incredible acrobatics, dance, music and feats of magic premiering in Showcase Theatre.
  • Corvyx(Worth Stopping by) Alternative electronic pop artist Corvyx is taking YouTube by storm through a combination of haunting covers, visually stunning videos and original music. Armed with a wicked style and powerhouse voice, Corvyx will rock Fright Fest during his residency near the new Wicked Brew bar on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Ignite A hypnotizing and dazzling display of fire spinning and illusion will have guests glued to the pavement watching every heart-stopping trick. This performance, located next to the Bumper Cars in Adventure Alley, will really see if guests can take the heat.

There’s also a bunch of Halloween themed foods and drinks. You definitely want to check these out. We never miss the funnel cake and the hot cocoa with a floating ghost Peeps on top! There are other foods as well that are pretty darn good!

Autumn is Awesome at Field Station Dinosaurs

Cooler weather and special programming means fall is the perfect time to enjoy a visit to Field Station: Dinosaurs, located at Bergen County’s Overpeck Park (40 Fort Lee Road, Leonia NJ). After a busy summer season, the Field Station will be reopening for eight more exciting weekends of adventure, mystery and discovery from September 23 through November 12.

The fun happens each Saturday and Sunday beginning September 23 with a special Super Stars of Science program as Paleontologist Jason Schein shows off his findings from his recent dino dig in Wyoming. He’ll provide insight about the amazing things that a Paleontologist actually does.  This real-life Indiana Jones will be joined by the Field Station’s own Brooke Rowzee who has accompanied Jason on his digs the past three years.  Continue the learning and the fun with Jason’s own coloring book, A Dynasty of Dinosaurs.

Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 7:00 pm on September 29 and each consecutive weekend through October 28, guests will be able to see the T-Rex like they’ve never seen it before during Dinosaurs After Dark. This special after-hours experience allows families to explore the trails and the park by flashlight. It’s spooky and silly, often at the same time! This unique family experience includes interactive live shows and will answer the 65-million-year-old question, Did Dinosaurs See in the Dark?  The night ends with a dinosaur sing-along complete with a campfire and roasted marshmallows

The Field Station will also be open for exciting school trips from Tuesday, October 17 through Friday, November 10.  It’s the perfect adventure where students can be entertained as well as educated. Special group rates are available.

Scout Day takes place Saturday, October 7th.  Meet the experts in topics ranging from bugs to camping to lizards. Try out hands-on activities that are applicable to Brownie and Girl Scout Badges, Cub Scout belt loops and Boy Scout merit badges. All Scouts in uniform will earn a commemorative patch!
