Looking for somewhere to take the little ones this Halloween season that will not scare them?
Sesame Place has the answer for you! From now until October 27th Sesame Place will be celebrating on weekends with The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular. 
Our family had the pleasure of visiting this past weekend and had a wonderful time. 
If you love Halloween you will love how Sesame Place does it up for this spooky season.
From the minute you hit the parking lot you will see everything decked out and also be greeted by the
awesome hay ride that leaves from the parking lot near Guest Relations. Every hay ride has one Sesame Place character on board and is filled with songs and stories! The hay ride has different hours than the park, so please check it out on your way in so you don’t miss out.
Once you enter the park you will be greeted by a monster sized Count balloon that will really put you into the Halloween mood. There are plenty of activities, shows and rides. There are even additional rides that are at Sesame Place just for the Halloween season. When you enter the park grab a map with all the times on it so you can plan out your day! We decided to Trick-Or-Treat first. The Trick-Or-Treat trail goes throughout the park so no matter where you are you can find a station. Emily had a ball gathering up yummies!
There are also three Halloween themed shows that you will not want to miss. You can choose to see one, two or all of them depending on how much your family loves them. Of course we attended all three!

Although the water activities are not open there is plenty to do, so arrive early. Your family will want to spend the entire day having fun. Emily enjoyed the Spooktacular themed kid’s meal with a batty take home plate and cup to match! There is also a pumpkin patch where the season pass holders donate their themed pumpkins. You can purchase your own pumpkin while you are there to decorate and take home! 
We had such a wonderful time on our trip to Sesame Place. The highlight for us was the Halloween parade.
It was so much fun to see our favorite characters dressed up in their costumes while singing, dancing and marching right down Sesame Street. If you have a chance to visit Sesame Place during this Halloween season, don’t let it pass you by! The memories are priceless and the fun is all geared toward the preschool aged children. Every day in our house it’s a challenge to find the perfect lunch box combination. After spending twenty years as a classroom teacher, I have seen more than my share of lunch box items hit the trash can half eaten or completely in tact. Knowing how kids treat their home packed lunches has made me think twice before packing up the lunches each morning. Since everyone in our family already loves Del Monte, we could not wait to test out what Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers had in store for us! It was a delightful experience from the minute the box of fun arrived! I also discovered along the way that Fruit Burst Squeezers were for more than just lunch boxes!

We were going to test them out for five days. I’m not really a huge fan of the whole puree concentrate products so I really did not know what to expect. I just left it up to Emily to decide on this one. Day One was an After-School Snack- That was easy enough. Emily always loves an afterschool snack. She was presented with Simply Fruit Strawberry Flavor- She loved it! Day Two was On-The-Go! Who wouldn’t want a snack in the car? I threw one in the cooler for when we were running around doing errands and offered it to her when she got a little hungry. She told me that the peach-mango was not as good as the strawberry, but she is a huge strawberry fan, so she also let me know that if you loved peaches and mangos, you would love this one! Day Three: Lunch Box Favorite- I knew right away that the lunch box treat would be something she would love as a surprise. When I packed the lunch I added in the Apple-Cinnamon flavor.

As soon as Emily came out of school she commented that the extra snack I put in her lunchbox was awesome! Day Four was my day- Mom’s Treat! I did not know what to expect, but I was willing to try after hearing all of the positive feedback from my daughter. I did save the blueberry one for me, since I adore blueberries. Thumbs up! I chilled it for a little while and it was delish! Honestly, it was the first time I ever tasted one, I had only judged them on the texture in the past but never tasted them. It was actually enjoyable!
Day Five Emily labeled as Good Times! She told me that the best was last, mixed berry.

Sofia The First has become a household name around here! We have dolls, costumes, figures, and amulets, etc. Even though Emily is on the tail end of six years old she is head over heels for Sofia. I can’t say I blame her. I find myself watching along with her when the show is on and I must admit I was pretty excited when I saw the first commercial for The Floating Palace! We looked at each other and said, “ARIEL”! How thrilling to have Ariel join up with Sofia! YES! WE will be there and most likely have a bit of a party (when don’t we?). 


Sofia and her family take to the high seas for a royal vacation in the first-ever “Sofia the First” primetime special, “Sofia theFirst: The Floating Palace,” premiering SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel and THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the 24-hour Disney Junior channel.  The undersea adventure, in which Sofia is magically transformed into a mermaid, features a special appearance by Princess Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” voiced by Disney Legend Jodi Benson who reprises her iconic role from the animated film.  The special also introduces a new character named Oona, a young mermaid voiced by Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”).
A full-length preview of “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” will debut on WATCHDisneyJunior.com and the WATCH Disney Junior app for smartphones and tablets beginning Monday, November 11.  The special will be simulcast on WATCH Disney Channel thesame day as the linear premiere on Sunday, November 24 and will be available for download on iTunes, Amazon and Xbox beginningMonday, November 25.
2013 to date, “Sofia the First” is cable TV’s #1 series in Kids 2-5 and Girls 2-5, and the #1 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers and Women 18-49. Its animated TV movie prequel, “Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess” remains the #1 cable TV telecast of all time in Kids 2-5 and Girls 2-5, and the #1 preschool cable TV telecast ever in Total Viewers and Women 18-49.
“Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” takes Sofia and her family on an extraordinary journey to Merriway Cove, where Sofiameets a young mermaid named Oona.  After helping Oona untangle her fin from a net, Sofia’s magical amulet transforms her into a mermaid too, allowing her to explore the underwater world with her new friend.  During their adventure, Sofia learns that mermaids mistrust humans and are angry that her family’s floating palace is in their cove.  When Oona is captured by a horrible sea monster,Sofia – with a little help from Princess Ariel – must find a way to save her and create harmony between their two worlds.
On Friday, November 15, DisneyJunior.com/Sofia will launch “Sofia the First: Mermaid Princess,” a game in which players help Sofia rescue Oona from the clutches of the sea monster.  The site will also feature “Sofia’s Royal Catch & Match,” an online activity based on the classic card game “Go Fish.”
Created for kids age 2-7 and their parents/caregivers, and starring the voices of Ariel Winter (ABC’s “Modern Family”), Sara Ramirez (ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy”), Wayne Brady (“Let’s Make a Deal”), and Tim Gunn (“Project Runway”), “Sofia the First” follows theadventures of Princess Sofia, a young girl who is learning how to adjust to royal life after her mom marries the king.  Along the way, she discovers that the inner character of kindness, generosity, loyalty, honesty and grace is what makes a real princess.

Sutton Foster – Princess Fiona is brought to life by the beautiful Sutton Foster. The multi talented artist (actor, singer, and dancer) is best known for her role in the fan favorite ABC Family series ‘Bunheads’, for which she earned a Critic’s Choice Television Awards nomination. Using her beautiful voice, Sutton has performed at venues across the country performing in concerts such as Funny Girl, They’re playing out songs, Chess, and many more.  Like her fellow cast mate, she also works on solo album projects, releasing two albums, Wish and An Evening with Sutton Foster – Live at the Café Carlye.
Christopher Sieber – Every story needs a villain and none is more villainous than Lord Farquaad, played by Christopher Sieber.  His performance as the miniature maniacal royal is sure to make your living room erupt with laughter and boo’s. Chris’ talent has also been enjoyed in various Broadway productions, such as Pipin, Spamalot, Beauty and The Beast, Into the Woods, and much more. He most recently debut his solo concert  “Minnesota Boy Does Well: Tales from Back and Center Stage.”  Fans of the Olsen twins may also remember him from the ABC comedy Two Of A Kind, in which he played the girls’ father.
Daniel Breaker- The character enjoyed equally by parents and their kids is Shrek’s smart tongued sidekick, Donkey.  As the liveliest character of the musical, Daniel Breaker brings sass, smarts, and laughter to the stage.  The Julliard Scholl Graduate has starred in several Tony and award winning productions such as Passing Strange, Cymbeline, and more. Off screen he has appeared in top titles such as Limitless opposite Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper, the Spike Lee-directed project entitled Redhook Summer and Passing Strange.  
John Tartaglia – What do Pinocchio, The Magic Mirror, Dragon Puppeteer all have in common? They are all John Tartaglia. The talented Tartaglia is best known for producing, creating, and starring in the 8-time Emmy nominated children’s show “Johnny and the Sprites”. Additionally, he received a Tony Award Nomination for his role in the Tony-Award winning musical Avenue Q, in which he originated the roles of Princeton and Rod. Most exciting of all his credits may be his 12-year stint on Sesame Street, making him one of the youngest puppeteers to ever perform on the historic show.
