FoxTV Premieres Master Chef Junior Friday Night Nov. 6th!

Tonight, Friday-November 6th, I know where our family will be! We will be huddled around the tv tuned into FoxTV’s Master Chef Junior show. This show just amazes me. Now we can cook and bake at home just like the contestants on the show. There are Master Chef Junior inspired cooking sets that you are definitely going to want to add to our kid friendly kitchen. Emily just turned nine and has been in the kitchen since she sat in a highchair. She has always taken part in cooking and baking. It’s something we love to do together. We love Master Chef Junior.

So, when Master Chef Junior invited us to try out the new baking/cooking sets we both could not wait. Each set contains just what you need to make your child feel like they are part of the action on the real show, Master Chef Junior. They have several sets to choose from and they all include real baking or cookware. You child can follow the recipes included or make one up on their own. Either way they will definitely be excited to be just like the contestants on the FoxTV show.

Master Chef Junior is a show where children between the ages of 8 and 13 apply to become a contestant on the series.Twenty four applicants are chosen to audition. At the auditions, the applicants are split into three groups. One group prepares seafood dishes, one prepares pasta dishes and one group prepares dessert dishes to present to the judges.Then twelve of the applicants become contestants for the next round and all 24 receive one of the MasterChef franchise’s signature aprons that they get to keep, regardless of their progress. After the audition round, two contestants are sent home per episode. The winner receives a prize of $100,000 and the MasterChef Junior trophy. So, who will be joining our family this season? Our family loves Broadway. Back before I was even a mom I loved going to Broadway shows with my mom and vowed to make Broadway a part of my own childrens’ life. One way we found to make buying show tickets more affordable was always attending Kids’ Night On Broadway in NYC. We have gone just about every year and I am proud to say that all three of my kids had their very first experience with Broadway though this great opportunity.  This year will be the 20th anniversary of Kids’ Night on Broadway in New York City. You can attend this one night only event on  Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Kids’ Night on Broadway is an annual event when kids ages 18 and under can see participating Broadway shows for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. A Kids’ Night on Broadway ticket includes pre-theatre activities, restaurant discounts, parking discounts, educational programs, and more.

To take part in the upcoming special night you have to think early. Tickets for Kids’ Night on Broadway 2016 in New York City will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:30am E.S.T. Ticket purchase links and other information is available at KidsNightOnBroadway.com starting at that time.

An American Girl Cafe Birthday Celebration

Have you ever thought of having a birthday party at American Girl Cafe? Emily has loved American Girl Brand since she was a tiny little toddler. Even before she was born my hubby’s mom bought her Emily, her first American Girl doll. Her first birthday celebration at American Girl Cafe took place when she turned three years old. It has pretty much been a family tradition to take Emily to American Girl Cafe on 5th Ave in NYC every year for her birthday brunch. So far we have kept up the tradition for her 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and recently 9th birthday. 

The breakfast, lunch and dinner are all price fixed so you can plan before you even go on how much the dining will run you. If you add a “celebration” to your meal you have to do that ahead of time to be sure a cake is available the day of your visit. If you are curious, the breakfast, lunch or dinner birthday is fixed at $28 per adult and $38 per child. It includes treats brought to the table, you choice of dining entree, and the birthday cake later served with an ice cream side. The experience is wonderful and the food choices are delicious.

If you decide on the birthday package your birthday girl will be presented with a special, “I’m celebrating” tiara along with one for any of her dollies she brings along to celebrate. This year Emily had three with her, Emmy (one of her original Bitty Babies), Emily, and her latest addition Grace. Each one of the doll guests had their own booster seat so they could easily reach their pint sized plate and cup. If you do not bring along a doll, they have plenty to choose from right in the cafe that are on loaner for your dining experience. So adorable! 

As for the dining choices- many of them are named after the American Girl dolls. They have heart shaped pancakes, flowered shaped sandwiches, and heart and flowered shaped fruit kabobs! It’s a little girl’s dream come true. The dessert ice cream is served in a tiny plant pot and adorned by a take home daisy. The dinner napkins also have a take home pink bow hair ribbon. There is so much dedication to detail that will make the celebration something you will want to do over and over again. Did I mention they serve pink lemonade? Of course they do!
