SPY The Exhibit Now At Discovery Times Square NYC

SPY The Exhibit
Now At
Discovery Times Square
226 West 44th Street
NYC
Anyone that knows our family knows how much we love the exhibits at Discovery Times Square, NYC. Every time a new one opens it goes right to the top of our “To Do” list.
Recently we had the pleasure of attending SPY The Exhibit. The event was hosted by Beth Feldman of RoleMommy.com and Discovery Times Square. Our happy group of blogger families were treated like gold with a private luncheon party followed by a guided tour of SPY The Exhibit. We were lucky enough to have the creator of the exhibit on hand to answer any questions along the way.
SPY The Exhibit was an exhilarating experience from beginning to end!
Personally, I have been interested in espionage for years thought I know quite a lot about it. My opinion changed quickly as our group was shown in depth ways of spying.
This interactive exhibit has you looking at the world in a whole new way. I was shocked to see a pigeon and dragonfly that were both remote spy cameras. I’ll be checking those insects flying by a little closer next time!
My children’s favorite part of the exhibit of course was the Laser Field. They had the pleasure of going through it more than once and they could not stop talking about. As try as they may, they could not make it through, but did improve with practice. It’s no easy task crossing a laser field set up to catch a spy!
Along with all of the artifacts, a unique collection that spanned from World War II and other eras, I was just amazed at the many different ways spies operate.
One of my favorite interactive sections was the voice changer and disguise maker. My family tried them both and it was very interesting to see the changes.
Honestly, you need to see SPY The Exhibit for yourself. It’s an incredible exhibit and filled with a world of learning. If you are in the NYC area don’t miss out.

Six Weeks To OMG Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends Hits the Shelves!

Six Weeks To
OMG
Get Skinnier Than
All Your Friends
Venice A. Fulton’s Book
Hits The Shelves

It seems that we are all looking for a quick fix or a new way to lose weight. We are always looking for something fresh and new to give us another chance.
Venice A. Fulton seems to think he has a way for us to get things rolling.
His book, Six Weeks to OMG Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends is based on a plan originally
designed by the nutrition expert and  personal trainer Venice A. Fulton for his A-List clients.
Do you feel that you failed on a diet? Venice A. Fulton claims that the diet has failed you!
He has a new way of thinking for us!
Below are just a few of his new ways of thinking. I was pretty shocked by many, if not all of them!
  • Skipping breakfast can be healthy
  • Cold baths can give you a hot body
  • Black coffee helps speed weight loss
  • Small, frequent meals can pack on the pounds
  • Exercise is about much more than how much and how hard
  • Broccoli carbs can be worse than soda carbs
  • Juices and smoothies cause overeating

Six Weeks To OMG is a groundbreaking system that uses a precise mix of nutrition,

biochemistry, genetics, and psychology to produce amazing results.
I personally know nothing about being skinny or how to get skinny. I have never been there and have not discovered the way to get there. So, with saying that, one person’s opinion or guidance is as good as the next one. I read this book with an open mind and did gain a bit of knowledge that never had entered my mind on any level before.

I did love how one of the first things the author stated was to “Respect Yourself”.
Fantastic advice for everyone. He said if you don’t respect yourself, then who will!
With advice like that I had to keep reading.
Advice was given on how to pick a trainer and what to do with weights. I love the author’s concept of Never eating without moving first. Our whole lives we have heard of waking up and eating breakfast. This is our chance to try the opposite. It’s okay to eat breakfast, just not the minute we wake up. Rules are given on how much we should be moving before/after meals. Makes sense when you think it over.

Now, without giving away the entire book, I must say that Venice A. Fulton does break the rules with this book and thinks out of the box when it comes to his way of thinking.
Although he has been ridiculed for his way of thinking, he has been a huge success in the U.K. and now it seems that the book, Six Weeks To OMG is gaining popularity in the USA.
Don’t take my word for how good this book is, you can check out an excerpt by clicking here.
As for me, I’ll be testing out some of the methods and see how they work!
After all, losing up to 20 pounds in 6 weeks is nothing to turn your back on!

Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam Path of Destruction

Advanced Auto Parts
Monster Jam
Path of Destruction

Recently our family had the pleasure of being a part of the first Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam Path of Destruction to take place at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. Now if that wasn’t enough to get the kids and us parents excited, nothing ever would be! We have been to Monster Jam plenty of times but it has always been an indoor venue. As much as love the indoor event, it was a whole different dynamic to see the trucks on tons and tons of dirt and massive cars piled on cars and ready for destruction. We were so pumped for the day and it turned out to  exceed our expectations on every level!

Our great day started with a gigantic outdoor Pit Party! This party rocked NJ! There was a Monster Truck in every direction for as far as your eye could see and drivers everywhere. You could even take a ride on a Monster Truck in a special area. We did not get a chance to do that, but I wish we did. It really looked like fun. We could have spent hours at the Pit Party, there was so much to do. You could get your collection of photos and autographs from everyone, create a sign for your favorite truck and driver, grab some delicious treats, watch some car crushing, see the motorcycles in the ball, and my favorite the Grave Digger 30th anniversary tribute. There was something for everyone.
If that was not enough, there were also motorcross and other activities taking place inside Met Life Stadium, along with rides on Monster trucks on the inside dirt track.
Before long we headed inside to get ready for the first Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam Path of Destruction at Met Life Stadium. The energy of the fans was out of reach as the cheers began to filled the tens of thousands of seats!

Day turned to night as Monster Truck after Monster Truck faced off to show their stuff.
Father and Son versed each other as Grave Digger versed Grave Digger The Legend. I’m not so sure I was happy with the fact that son beat out father the day before Father’s Day, but I guess it happens right?
Of course my sons went crazy for the World of Marvel Super Heroes which included Spider Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Captain America. One was tougher than the next.
Other Monster Trucks that rocked the house were Madusa, Monster Mutt, Monster Energy, Lucas Oil Crusader, Advanced Auto Parts Grinder, Team Hot Wheels, El Toro Loco, Metal Mulisha, and Mowhawk Warrior.
The end of the night commenced with Tom Meents driving Maximum Destruction! He was trying for a first time ever double flip. You can check out the video below to he that he almost made it. Of course, no one was disappointed in the crowd. It’s not like it’s an easy thing to do!

No matter where you live in the USA an Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam is coming to a city near you. Don’t miss out on the fun. Monster Jam fans are guys and girls and all ages from non-walkers to oldies! It really doesn’t matter, does it? The only thing you will miss by not going to Monster Jam is a great day out filled with excitement and fun! We are already looking forward to our next Monster Jam and hoping it’s not in the too far future!
You can check out where Monster Jam is next and buy tickets by clicking here.
I also had the pleasure of interviewing Bari Musawwir the driver of Spider Man.

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D Great For Tweens, Teens and You!

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D
Great For Tweens, Teens and You!
Now In Theaters

Recently, my two children and I attended a screening for the brand new, spectacular 3d movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D” at the Paramount Pictures Screening Room on Broadway, NYC. It was no surprise to get the royal treatment from Paramount. They really roll out the red carpet for their guests! We were treated to specialty drinks “Teenage Dream” and “The Pink Peacock”. We did not go hungry since we were treated to a light dinner, NYC Cake Pops, treats from Magnolia Bakery, and a huge serve yourself Candy Bar by Hershey’s.

We honestly could not wait to see this movie. All of my children are Katy Perry fans and I think that it may be because of me. I do love her music, too! I was curious to see exactly who the girl behind the music would be. After our fabulous pre-party, we were escorted into Paramount’s private screening room and it was not long before the movie began. Since the prelude to the movie was a sing-a-long to a song from Grease, everyone was pretty pumped up.

The audience fell into a sudden hush as Katy Perry Part of Me 3D began. I think it took everyone for quite a surprise as the raw truth of the real person unfolded. This movie tells the story of Katy Perry and her rise to stardom. I did not realize how hard Katy Perry worked to reach her goals. Personally, I thought she was an overnight success and did not realize the torn road she went down including many disappointments along the way. Her sheltered childhood was another surprise to me. Yet though it all, one thing remained the same. You cannot dispute just how talented Katy Perry is, with a voice and style not to be matched. As Katy put it in the movie, “I don’t want to be another someone, I want to be the first Katy Perry”. Well, there you have it. We have the first Katy Perry and you will see the makings of her right on the screen in front of you. You also experience her joy and sorrow through the span of her tour. The movie takes place over the span of one year. It was quite interesting to be on the “other side” of the stage. Many things we never would think a star goes through are right there for us to witness. Here is a little sneak peek at the movie!

I must say that I thought the movie was spectacular! It appeals to all ages and you really feel like a part of the movie (no pun intended). The movie made me laugh and cry (and yes there is a definite tissue alert). As the movie progresses, you really feel for Katy Perry and the people surrounding her. The movie was just amazing. There is no other way to put it. It’s the perfect summer movie for you and your family. Other than the documentary parts, the concert is great! It makes you feel like you have a backstage pass and front row seats to the Teenage Dream Tour. I attended the movie with my five year old daughter and 12 year old son. Maybe 5 was a little young for the movie, but since she knows many of the songs and loves to sing along, she enjoyed it, too! My son was surprised at how much he enjoyed the story behind Katy Perry. If you are a Katy Perry fan, do not miss this movie. You may even want to see it more than once, because I know that my family does! Of course, Paramount did not send us home empty handed. We had plenty of swag, including iPhone skins, movie posters, and Katy Perry custom nail polish by O.P.I. “The One That Got Away” and “Not Like The Movies” and more.
If you want to learn more about the movie, click the link below to visit the official movie website:
Disclosure: Special thanks to Paramount for the invitation to this private screening, party and goodie bag. All opinions are that of Diane Sullivan. Katy Perry Part of Me 3D is in theaters now.
