The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 now brings the franchise to its powerful final chapter in which Katniss Everdeen [Jennifer Lawrence] realizes the stakes are no longer just for survival – they are for the future. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin] and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

#DIY Turkey Popcorn Ball

Turkey Popcorn Ball Craft For A Delicious Fun Dessert This November!

TurkeyPopcornBallEmily and Mommy are always trying to come up with fun desserts for holidays. Recently we scanned through the Halloween leftovers and came up with this great turkey design. We can’t wait for the kids to put them together at the Thanksgiving Kids’ Table! We will have all the goodies bagged together with some directions included. It’s a quick and easy turkey to make and you can always substitute whatever you have laying around to make your own design. Please share your turkey with us on our facebook page! We would love to see it! https://www.facebook.com/3decades3kids

Ingredients we used or could use:

  1. Head: Lollipop or cookie for the head.
  2. Eyes: Smarties or any round little candy for the eyes. We added a little tiny piece of chocolate for the eyeballs.
  3. Beak: Candy Corn or another round candy for the beak.
  4. Gizzard: Any reddish candy. We used Starburst.
  5. Body: Popcorn ball.
  6. Feet: We used two big sized m&ms and stuck them on with Starburst.
  7. Feathers: Sweedish Fish of different colors!
  8. Hat: Hershey Bar shaped into a hat.

This is such a fun foodie craft. The kids will love it and so will the adults. This is great for the class if you are teacher, and great for scouts! Have fun and be creative! Hope you liked this yummy do it yourself treat! Happy Thanksgiving!

FoxTV Premieres Master Chef Junior Friday Night Nov. 6th!

masterchefjremily

Tonight, Friday-November 6th, I know where our family will be! We will be huddled around the tv tuned into FoxTV’s Master Chef Junior show. This show just amazes me. Now we can cook and bake at home just like the contestants on the show. There are Master Chef Junior inspired cooking sets that you are definitely going to want to add to our kid friendly kitchen. Emily just turned nine and has been in the kitchen since she sat in a highchair. She has always taken part in cooking and baking. It’s something we love to do together. We love Master Chef Junior.

So, when Master Chef Junior invited us to try out the new baking/cooking sets we both could not wait. Each set contains just what you need to make your child feel like they are part of the action on the real show, Master Chef Junior. They have several sets to choose from and they all include real baking or cookware. You child can follow the recipes included or make one up on their own. Either way they will definitely be excited to be just like the contestants on the FoxTV show.
