Great Wolf Lodge- A Perfect Summer Place for Family and Friends to Make Memories

GWLS6
Relaxing with a cup of java on our private balcony! Yes, Please!!

The Poconos is loaded up with indoor waterparks everywhere you look at this point in time. There are plenty to choose from for sure. Although our family has visited most of them, we just keep coming back to our old favorite. Are you looking for a great place to grab the family and friends to join together and have an awesome time? Look no farther than Great Wolf Lodge. Recently our family visited Great Wolf Lodge, Poconos. Although we travel all around, one of our favorite places to just chill out and be together as a family is less than two hours from NYC and minutes over the PA border. People constantly ask us how we can keep going back to the same place time after time. We always have the same answer- It’s a great place to go with plenty of things to do and something for all ages. It’s a place you can bring all of your extended family and friends and just hang out-laughing and have fun.

Ten Things You Should Know Before You Go!

1. No Matter which room choice you make it will come equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. That means you can bring your own water and snacks! I’m sure you will want to test our some of the delicious treats sold at Great Wolf Lodge as well. They are hard to resist, but it will be great to have your own stash at hand for the in betweens.

2. Bring your bathing suit. There are plenty of things to do at GWL without a bathing suit, but you definitely will want to take advantage of the waterpark while visiting. There is also an outdoor pool- so lotion is a must if you plan on swimming outdoors. If you do forget there is a swim shop!

GWLS
Once you enter the indoor waterpark it’s hard to leave! SO much fun!

3. Pre-purchase the breakfast or buy it at check in. You will get a better rate and will thank yourself in the morning when the scent of pancakes comes calling down your hallway.

Another perk is that you can share the items between your kids!

GWLS4
Ten Paw Alley is fun for the entire family!

5. There are complimentary activities all day long! The morning starts off with Yoga Tales (kid’s yoga complete with yoga mat), the Wolf Walk, balloon makers, cookie decorating, all the way into the night which ends with a night story and meet up with your favorite GWL characters. On select nights there are even dance parties! All of these activities are included with your stay.

GWLS8
Start your morning off with Yoga Tales!
GWLS7

#Giveaway Liberty Science Center- Jack Horner’s Dino Dig #LibertyScienceCenter

Liberty Science Center Jack Horner’s Dino Dig- Giveaway

LSCdinoCalling all dinosaur fans. We have found something special just for you this summer. As if Liberty Science Center is not  already great enough to go to, it seems that it just got even better. From now through September 4th you can find Liberty Science Center decked out in dinosaurs from head to toe. We were excited to join Jersey Moms Media on a hosted blogger influencer tour of everything dinosaurs. Our group of chatty youngsters could not wait to learn everything they could about everything from the Cretaceous Period. The kids really enjoyed their hands on experience of uncovering an individual dinosaur fossil block which contained skeletal pieces of a dinosaur that could be pieced together to create a full dinosaur. It took a lot of work to uncover those pieces but it was worth it at the end! http://lsc.org/LSCdino1 LSCdino9Liberty Science Center has added Jack Horner’s Dino Dig site to its outside backyard. Your little paleontologist will be able to enter this realistic dig site and try their luck and skill at digging up some dinosaur bones, skeletons and fossils. Of course there will be plenty of guidance via the Dino Dig Guide Team that will be there to help answer questions and provide facts along the way. I was amazed to find out there was thirty five tons of sands and fifty replica fossils of creatures from the late Cretaceous Period. LSCdino2 LSCdino4 Wondering how Jack Horner’s Dino Dig got its name? Jack Horner was a paleontologist and the inspiration for the Michael Crichton novel and Steven Spielberg film, Jurassic Park. The dig site is modeled after the Hell Creek Formation in Montana, a site of study by Horner and his team. While using paleontologists’ tools including a brush you may uncover fossils from T-Rex, Triceratops, and others. LSCdino3 LSCdino12 When you visit Liberty Science Center feel free to stop at the Welcome Desk at the entrance for more details. Jack Horner’s Dino Dig is open not through Labor Day, September 4th from 10 am- 5:30 pm. Please note that this is a free activity included with LSC admission and is weather permitting. Children who come dressed wearing dinosaur themed clothes can save $5 off of a children’s admission ticket. Not valid on groups of more than four children at a time, online purchases or with any other discount. Offer ends September 4, 2017. LSCdino11 In addition to all of the dinosaur fun, there is more than plenty to see and do at Liberty Science Center. You children can spend the day unplugged and learning while enjoying themselves with one of a kind exhibits and experiments.

Sony The Emoji Movie Now In Theaters #EmojiMovie

Sony The Emoji Movie, Now In Theaters

Emoji1

The Emoji Movie is the perfect social-media filled film for the whole family! From apps such as Spotify to even Just Dance making appearances in the movie, there’s something for everyone in this summer. The Emoji Movie focuses on Gene & his quest to fit in alongside the other emojis in his owner’s phone. When he finds out that he is viewed as a malfunction, Gene takes it upon himself to venture out and find a way to fix his problem before imminent destruction.

The movie is a wild ride, as Gene is joined by Hi-5. portrayed by James Corden, and Jailbreak, who is played by Anna Faris. They help him on his journey, as they surf through Spotify, YouTube, Just Dance, Dropbox, and many more familiar applications. A highlight of the Just Dance segment has to be the first appearance of the movie’s “Emoji Bop” dance, where the main character covers his face & pops out with a different emoji face every time.

While there are plenty of jokes for younger audiences, I found myself laughing the hardest during the movie’s segments following the characters of Mel Meh & Mary Meh, Gene’s parents in the film. As they search for their son but cannot break from their one emotion, they keep their conversations in one consistent monotone voice which makes for some great moments. Another highlight has to be the addition of the Poop emoji, portrayed by Sir Patrick Stewart, as he makes jokes such as telling his son not to wash his hands in the bathroom. The film does a great job giving the smaller characters personality, and making audiences feel the sense of there being a living world within their phones.
Emoji2
emojimovie
Overall, The Emoji Movie is a big win for families as a mid-summer release. With laughs, a story that incorporates some of the most popular apps children and adults alike are using to this day, and a great cast, the film is a great time for all ages.
I had the pleasure of attending the Emoji Movie Press Junket at Sony Square NYC. Maya Rudolph who voiced the movie’s villain Smiler was more than happy to share her thoughts on the movie, parenting and more. Maya thought taking on the role of Smiler would be a fun challenge and also stated she thought the role was not as elaborate as she envisioned it to be. She loved that Smiler was one of the original set of emojis. Maya stated, “Emojis are a part of life. Everyone that has a phone uses them.” Because Maya immediately fell in love with the character she found it even more exciting to play.
When asked about being a parent and dealing with social media and kids she made a point of saying just how tough it was on parents these days. Her children on not on any social media platforms at the moment. She does let them have time on their ipads and manages device time.
When asked how she was able to stay in character, Maya told us how Tony helped out in the sound booth helping her to keep smiling while being, “insane”.
Of course, being me, I asked Maya if Smiler had a message to the audience (even though she was the villain). Smiler’s message? Be moved! You think you know what you want to do then something changes like your hair, your job and your world goes in a different direction.
See you in Textopolis my little Emoji friends! Enjoy the movie. http://www.theemoji-movie.com/
