Madame Alexander
Amazing Reveals At The New York Toy Fair
One of my favorite stops at the recent New York Toy Fair had to be Madame Alexander.
Need I say more? It seems that Madame Alexander Doll Company has been around forever and yet never ceases to amaze me with their new spin on the doll world. As for me, I have always had a love of dolls.
Growing up as an only child- dolls were always a big part of my world.
Since my first two children were boys, dolls were something that seemed out of reach for me in my adult life.
But after being a boymom for sixteen years, our family welcomed Emily and slowly our house has changed in into a girl’s world. Even before Emily was born, she already was given her first doll.
I could not wait to introduce her to the world of Alexander Doll Company. At seven years old her heart is filled with love for her dollies which are also a big part of our family.
It was thrilled to find out a few surprises that Madame Alexander had in store for me at the Toy Fair.
Pictured above are three new additions. For the first time we will be introduced to a fully waterproof doll.
Yes! I can’t even tell you how many “non-waterproof” dolls have hit tubby time and taken days to dry out.
This will be a very welcome doll to our family. There will also be more additions, Newborn Nursery Babblebabies, which I had the pleasure of holding. What a tough baby doll to put down considering it is weighted the same as a baby and babbles while you hold it. The babbles were recorded from real babies. Extremely adorable! My First Baby, Baby Peekaboos and My Sweet Lovies are all perfect play babies.
By the way, for the first time there will be My First Baby-My Baby Sister and My Baby Brother!
If high fashion is your love you will be thrilled to find out that Madame Alexander Doll Company has teamed up with Isaac Mizrahi! Yes, please! These dolls are fashion beauties adorned from head to toe in fashion inspired by Isaac Mizrahi himself. I”m so sure we will have one or more of these fashion beauties in our house very soon. There were plenty of 18 inch dolls on hand including Dollie and Me, Disney and more.
When I think of Alexander Doll Company, I cannot help but think of the collectible dolls.
There were so many on display that I could have spent the entire day just going from one to the next. They just mesmerize me. They are like a little package of happiness that will fill any little girl’s (or big girl) heart with joy. There are dolls for many occasions including the Tooth Fairy, Ballerina, First Holy Communion and more. The Wizard of Oz and 75th Anniversary of Gone With the Wind were also on hand.
It seems that Madame Alexander Doll Company is unique in their vision on dolls. They have managed to keep the traditional dolls exciting us along with keeping current with the times. They will introduce for the first time- The Muppets hand puppets. I cannot think of many people who do not smile at the mention of Kermit and his friends. Our family is definitely looking forward to the movie and to this wonderful selection of hand puppets and plush Muppets dolls. In addition to that I was amazed to find some of my daughter’s favorites: Fancy Nancy, Angelina Ballerina and The Wizard Of Oz.
As you can probably tell, this is just a sample of what was on hand at the Madame Alexander display at the  New York Toy Fair. There are many memories to be made, collections to be added to and celebrations to be recognized with the beauty of Madame Alexander. There is something for everyone, with various pricing Madame Alexander has made it possible for everyone to enjoy their doll line. The information above is just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s continue the tradition of “Growing Up With Madame Alexander”.
