LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester to Open its Doors to the “Big Kids” with Launch of Monthly Event Specifically Geared to Adult Fans of LEGO® on May 2

Exclusive Evenings for Adult LEGO Fans to Take Place First Thursday of Every Month

If you know anything about LEGOS, you know they are not just for kids! As my children grew older, I began to see just how intense some of the building sets were. I think that Adult Fans night is an amazing thing. Why not let the adults have a little fun! It’s great that there will be nights dedicated just to adults. It’s a great idea for everyone involved! In sharing the unique and interactive experiences offered at the just launched LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester with adult LEGO® fans, the indoor attraction today announced the launch of its first monthly Adult Fans of LEGO (AFoL) Night, taking place on Thursday, May 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (admission is from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) at Ridge Hill in Yonkers.  The new monthly event is only open to adults (18 years and older) and allows guests to experience the attraction while enjoying special events and activities tailored to adults.
“As a children’s attraction, it is LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester’s policy to only admit adults who are visiting with a child,”said Chris Mines, General Manager of the attraction.  “Our monthly event is an ideal solution for providing access to adults who grew up playing with LEGO bricks, are still passionate about all things LEGO and would like to experience the attraction.”

Beginning with the event on May 2, the adults only evenings will take place the first Thursday of each month (with no event in July as the first Thursday falls on July 4) and feature tailored activities and events that Adult Fans of LEGO will enjoy, including a LEGO building contest with special prizes being awarded, as well as a cash bar with beer, wine and select mixed drinks.  Future events may also be developed around specific themes or feature special guests and exhibits.
Of course, guests will also get to enjoy the attraction’s range of educational and interactive experiences, including its 4D cinema, two LEGO amusement rides and MINILAND – the venue’s signature re-creation of landmark locations and buildings throughout Westchester County and New York City, made entirely out of LEGO bricks.

Tickets to the adult evenings are available online at www.LEGOLANDDiscoveryCenter.com/Westchester/ for $18 (plus tax); and at the door the day of the event from 7-7:30 p.m. for $22 (plus tax).  For more information, call 866 243-0770 or visit the evening’s Facebook event page at on.fb.me/XU3L9Y.

Madame Alexander Dolls Denise Boulet, Zelda and Queen Victoria

Madame Alexander Dolls
Denise Boulet, Zelda and Queen Victoria
Who doesn’t love to go back in time and relive days gone by? The Victorian Era, Edwardian Times and The Roaring 20¹s all have a special place in history especially when it comes to the influence each period had over fashion. All three of these significant times in history produced remarkable women of fashion who have now been made into Madame Alexander Dolls including Denise Boulet, Zelda and Queen Victoria.

Denise Boulet was an enormous influence on the fashion of her day. She was the wife and muse of designer of Paul Poiret (late 19th century-early 20th century), the Oscar de la Renta of his day. She is a 10-inch fully articulated Cissette with brown eyes, upswept brunette hair, wearing a deep plum, floor length sheath embellished with black and gold lace and purple bugle beads at the bodice. Over the sheath she wears an olive green satin, kimono style coat, a bold geometric pattern belt made from purple and gold brocade accentuating the waist of the dress. A gold and iridescent purple beaded headband decorates her head and a sparkling purple and green crystal necklace with matching earrings adds even more flair to the chicness of Denise Boulet¹s ensemble, which is finished by purple pumps with small gold bows and nude pantyhose. This is a limited edition doll to 250 pieces retailing for $159.95. The doll can be purchased at http://www.madamealexander.com.

Zelda is a 10-inch fully articulated Cissette with blue eyes and a side-parted short blonde bob wearing a purple satin drop waist dress. The 20¹s inspired dress is overlaid with silver and lavender mesh with a purple chiffon bow on the side of her waist. Silver pearl earrings and matching bracelet go beautifully with the dress, as does her white cloche hat and silver lace fingerless gloves. Strappy silver pumps and nude pantyhose complete Zelda¹s 20¹s outfit. This is a limited edition doll to 250 pieces retailing for $159.95. The doll can be purchased at http://www.madamealexander.com.
Queen Victoria, having sat on the throne for 63 years, is the longest reigning monarch in British history. She set the tone for many aspects of British life but none more so than Šfashion. She is a 10-inch fully articulated Cissette with blue eyes, center-parted brunette hair that¹s pulled back to a low bun at the nape, and is presented this year as a magnificent bride. As such she is dressed in a sumptuous gown of white satin that has a full skirt, a fitted bodice and full flounced sleeves. White lace accentuates the neckline, the hem and the edge of the sleeves. Her veil is an appealing combination of lace and netting while the elegant, white satin train of the gown is embellished with an embroidered white and green rococo trim at the hem. Her jewelry, fit for a queen, includes an elaborate ³Collar of the Order of the Garter² necklace, a white rhinestone necklace and gold pendant and white rhinestone earrings. Beneath the gown she wears a white taffeta petticoat trimmed with lace, lace-trimmed white pantaloons, thigh high white stockings and white pumps. A crown of Œorange blossoms¹ sitting upon her regal head completes the bridal portrait of Queen Victoria. This is a limited edition doll to 250 pieces retailing for $249.95. The doll can be purchased at http://www.madamealexander.com.

Giveaway: We Have A New Baby In The House! She’s An Adora Toddler Doll

Giveaway: We Have A New Baby
In The House!
She’s An Adora Toddler Doll

Six years ago I had my daughter. Being a Boymom for sixteen years before she arrived let me into a world I had never seen before, filled with cars, trucks and superheroes. Since Emily came along, our house has been getting pinker by the day and filled with dolls of every kind. Recently, I came across a special doll that I knew she would just love. I knew because I loved it the minute I laid eyes on it. Adora makes many types of dolls. They were kind enough to send me an Adora Toddler Doll to check out. I must admit, since the minute the box arrived and was opened it, it as if we have a new baby in the house. We were all just taken by her baby beauty immediately. Paris Poodle is weighted to feel just like a
real baby. Even hubby has taken a turn at holding her- personally I think it’s because she is about the size of Emily when she was born. Paris Poodle is so realistic. My daughter just loves her.

Paris Poodle is dressed in an adorable hand sewn dress with a beautiful white ruffled tulle skirt and cuffs on the leggings. Her blue eyes are gorgeous and look right at you. Emily has taken to this doll like no other.
Paris Poodle (renamed Noelle) has become part of our family. She goes to church with us, to the movies, the park and sleeps in her own little made up crib. If you are a doll lover you will not want to miss out on Paris Poodle. No matter if you are 4 or 94, this a doll that just makes you smile. She can live in your little ones’ arms or on a shelf in your living room. One thing is for sure, an Adora doll will open your heart to more love every time you look at it! The Adora Toddler dolls 2013 line will be available very soon. You can check out all of the Adora dolls right here http://www.adoradolls.com/ Also,check them out on facebook AdoraDolls .
