Fire Me Up! Studio, a new studio opening in Cranford, will offer paint-your-own pottery, glass fusing, clay hand-building projects and host art classes and workshops. The studio will also feature Ladies Night and Tween Nights and host open studio hours for walk-in customers and even personalized events and parties.

On Saturday, September 21st from 10am to 12pm, Fire Me Up! will have a Grand Opening Party open to the public and will allow families to tour the space and create a small piece of artwork. Balloon artists, Face Painting, Drinks and Treats will be served.

On Thursday, September 26th from 7-9pm, Fire Me Up! will host an Adults-Only Grand Opening event offering Mini Chair Massages by Elements Therapeutic Spa in Cranford, a Wine tasting, and Lite bites.

It is SO hard to believe that September is hitting us straight in the face and along with that Halloween in tagging along. If you are like me and obsessed with Halloween you will be just as excited as I was to hear about Six Flags Great Adventure starting up their Fright Fest THIS FRIDAY!!!! Friday the 13th!! Does it get any better than that? I don’t think so! So gather up your ghoulies and head over to Six Flags! Thrills by day, Frights by Night! It’s a wonderful day for the KIDS to enjoy ALL day long! At around 6pm the park transforms into Fright Fest mode, so if you have any zombiehaters, it would be time to head to the front gates! It’s fun either way! Emily enjoys the day and my boys enjoy both day and night, along with ME!

Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest Presented by SNICKERS® promises the longest run in its 22-year history plus four new attractions at the world’s largest scream park. The event features family-friendly “thrills by day,” while an amped-up “fright by night” will deliver more scare zones, terror trails and haunted mazes plus nearly 200 zombies and a total of 25 Halloween-themed shows and attractions.
Four new attractions include the daytime “Monster Maze” children’s corn maze and Doc Snooker’s Halloween Time Machine comedy show; plus the new “Total Darkness” blackout maze and Straw-Man Stalkers haunted corn maze during the nighttime hours.
Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays from Friday the 13th of Sept. through Oct. 27, 2013 plus Columbus Day.

The Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families, will host the first “Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash,” to be broadcast on Saturday, October 26, 2013 on the cable channel. Of course if you watch hubtv you already know all about this. Since Em is a hub-O-holic we constantly have the hub on! This is pretty big news. You can’t win unless you try! Maybe you will be the walk on! Someone is going to have an amazing time this Halloween!
The special will be hosted by Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”), along with Halloween expert Martha Stewart who will lead a panel of celebrity judges, and includes music performances and a nationwide costume competition where 50 semi-finalists from each state will head to Los Angeles to be a part of the two-hour star-studded event.
One lucky winner will win $25,000 and a walk-on role on the Hub Network’s Daytime Emmy® Award-winning series, “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series.”
The “Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash” costume competition is open to all ages, including individuals or a maximum of five people per group submission.
Participants are encouraged to create eye-popping, hair-raising and spooky costumes within one of the following six categories:
·         Howl-arious – Shows the lighter side of Halloween with a take on a fun, funny or otherwise hilarious costume.
·         Spook-tacular – Get ready to frighten America by showcasing the most spine-chilling costume for all the ghosts and ghouls out there.
·         Mad Genius – Unique, original, innovative and never seen before. A knight in armor fashioned from bottle caps, bat wings made from old umbrellas, or a cardboard-box jetpack, the possibilities are endless. Display a costume unlike any other — show your Mad Genius.
·         Blast from the Past – Take a stroll down memory lane with a timeless costume. Memories, nostalgia and yesteryear brought to life. Show your take on great figures from before the 20thcentury or a retro 50’s sock hop get up, 60’s flower child or other “period” inspired costumes.
·         Animal Kingdom – Transform into a living creature from the past or present. Be a roaring lion, a school of jellyfish, a firefly, or a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
·         Everyday Stuff – We’re looking for the coolest refrigerator/freezer, remote control, mailbox, block of Swiss cheese, telephone and more.  Be creative and transform the ordinary into the extra-ordinary.

The Wizard of Oz has always been one of my favorite movies! My hubby claims that I have to catch it every time it’s on! I do admit, I have loved it since I was a child and now I have passed that down to my own children, especially Em! We were thrilled to find out that The Wizard of Oz would be released on Blu-Ray and DVD this coming October 1st! In the meantime we have some awesome news!

Marking its 75th anniversary, The Wizard of Oz, will return to the big screen for an exclusive one-week engagement in IMAX® theatres beginning September 20, 2013.  Catch an advance screening of the Wizard of Oz (PG) with a family 4-pack at the AMC Kips Bay on September 15 at 10am in IMAX 3D.

Be sure to pick up your own copy of The Wizard of Oz on Blu-Ray & DVD October 1st, 2013
