ELF on The Shelf Birthday Tradition
Start a New Tradition With Your Family
Our house has quite a few traditions, one of which is Elf on the Shelf. Christmas is a very magical time in our house and since my children are 23, 15 and 7 the magic has been going on for many years. Throughout the years we have had many different stories and traditions that have become precious to our family and holiday time. Elf on the Shelf has made itself into our household and has become part of our family during the past year. Elf on the Shelf is Santa’s helper who is the go between the North Pole and your home. The Elf is adopted and named by your family and the rules are basically up to you. You can be as creative as you would like posing your Elf in different ways or just leaving him in one spot. It’s all up to you!
Recently, I was invited by Niche Parent to Dylan’s Candy Bar, NYC to experience Elf on the Shelf Birthday Tradition. This is new to Elf on the Shelf and a way to extend keeping our little friend in our family during the year as well as Christmas time. During the Elf Birthday Party we met with one of the co owners of the original Elf on the Shelf, Christa Pitts. She shared a heartwarming story about how her mom and sister put together the book, Elf on the Shelf that mirrored their own childhood memories and traditions. What an honor!
With the new extension of the tradition you can have your Elf visit on your own or your child’s birthday and decorate the Birthday Chair! The Birthday Elf has his/her own Cupcake outfit and Birthday hat to add more fun to the festivities. The set also comes with a Birthday book that explains everything. PS: Be sure to read the book with your child before the actual birthday, so you both know what is expected.  There is also a birthday countdown chart that has a flip side with a birthday candle game. All of the new fun will just add even more smiles to your child’s face when they see their Elf friend return from the North Pole just to spend the day with them on their birthday!  Em’s birthday is coming up in October and we cannot wait to try out this new tradition in our own family. Disney Princess Mulan Makes Special Appearance On Sofia The First Friday August 15th
  Our family just loves Sofia the First and has since the very first episode. One thing that makes the show very special is the occasional Disney Princess visit. This Friday will be especially awesome when Mulan makes an appearance for the very first time. Disney Princess Mulan will make a special appearance on Disney Junior’s hit Emmy-nominated series “Sofia the First” in a special episode premiering , Friday, August 15 at 9:30 a.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel.
In the episode titled “Princesses to the Rescue,” Sofia and her family take a trip to the Kingdom of Wei-Ling.  While there, Sofia’s brother Prince James and Prince Jin run off in search of the treasure of the Jade Jaguar and when King Roland and Emperor Quon go off to rescue the boys, they all find themselves trapped in the jaguar’s den, so it’s up to Sofia, Amber and Princess Jun to save their families.  Mulan appears to offer some strategic advice to the young princesses on how to rescue their dads and brothers.

Am I dreaming or is this the best news ever?? Skylanders Trap Team has a Tablet Starter Pack in the works! Woooza! With our Skylanders obsessed family, this is just the most amazing news we could hope for, complete with blue tooth and more. I call this the take it and go pack! This picture just really gets me wishing the days away until October 5th hits!

For the first time in franchise history, Activision will bring the full console experience of the best-selling kid’s game and action figure line, Skylanders, to the tablet! Who else will be preordering this? Keep up to date by following @Skylandersgame on Twitter #Skylanders
On October 5, launching day-and-date with the console version, the Skylanders Trap Team Tablet Starter Pack will give fans everything they need for a rich gameplay experience wherever and whenever they want to play. The launch also underscores Activision’s continued commitment to delivering another meaningful technological leap to the Skylanders franchise.
The Skylanders Trap Team Tablet Starter Pack will include a Bluetooth version of the Traptanium Portal that gives players the freedom to dock their tablet and a cool Bluetooth-enabled controller for the best possible play experience.
The pack will also include two Skylanders characters, two Traps, and a display tray that lets Portal Masters keep track of the Traps they’ve collected and which villains they have trapped.
Skylanders Trap Team on tablet can be experienced two different ways:
·         “Controller” –– Fans can play the game just like the console version using the Bluetooth Traptanium Portal and toys with the custom Bluetooth Skylanders game controller included in the Tablet Starter Pack.
·         “Touch Controls” – For players who prefer to use touch controls instead of a controller, fans have the option to play the game just using on-screen touch controls.

The Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack will be available on October 5th in North America, October 10th in Europe and October 2nd in Australia on the following platforms: a variety of iPad®, Kindle Fire and Android tablets; Xbox One and Xbox 360 games and entertainment systems from Microsoft; PlayStation®4 system; PlayStation®3 system; Nintendo’s Wii™ system and Nintendo’s Wii U™ system. A different, unique adventure also will be available on the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system.

24 Hour CUPCAKE ATM Machine in NYC!
Of Course We Played It at Sprinkles
A cupcake lovers dream come true has hit NYC! Sprinkles Cupcakes has recently opened a 24 hour cupcake machine on Lexington Ave between 60th and 61st. Of course you know we had to swing by and check it out! 
One Word: Awesome! If you are in the area, line up and grab one. It only takes under a minute from choosing to cupcake delivery. We loved it. This is just a quick post to share our video of the fun. In our next post about Sprinkles we will be hosting a $50 gift card giveaway, so stay tuned. You won’t want to miss out on this one.
