How To Train Your Dragon
 Live Spectacular
Now on Tour Across America

“How to Train Your Dragon” is hands-down my favorite animated movie that DreamWorks has released to date. So when I heard that a live adaptation was set to go on tour, naturally I was beyond thrilled. Thankfully, the show more than lived up to expectations, bringing me and my entire family directly into the world of “How to Train Your Dragon” and letting us re-live the events of the movie in a whole new way. It was incredible!

The “How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular” is an immersive stage show making its way across the nation and wowing audiences along the way with such wonders as outstanding special effects (including stunning uses of fire, smoke, laser and projection), an excellent story (it is, after all, based on the great film of the same name), and of course, the dragons.

Crafted by the team that was behind the epic “Walking With Dinosaurs,” the dragons of “How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular” are truly incredible to behold. Each of the many dragons featured in the show is so detailed in appearance and life-like in motion that it’s no surprise to the audience when they start to engage in typical dragon behavior– like spitting fire and taking to the skies!

Though it may have not been a surprise to see such things, it certainly proved exciting, as the flying and fire-breathing dragons made for some of the best parts of “How to Train Your Dragon Live!” Particularly enthralling was the scene where Toothless and Hiccup finally take flight for the first time. As Toothless spread his wings and lifted into the air, it felt like the audience was being lifted up alongside him, and gliding through the seaside air on that first monumental flight.

Also incredibly entertaining were the Dragon Games, where the young vikings faced off against a variety of dragons, trying to subdue the creatures sometimes against three or four of them at a time! Seeing all of those dragons in the arena together at once was quite, well, spectacular!

The single most amazing moment in the entire show was the final face-off against the king of the dragons, the “Red Death.” Toothless and Hiccup’s aerial battle against this massive dragon was brilliantly brought to life, and the gigantic scope and scale of this confrontation is not lost in the translation.

“How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular” is a wonderful experience for the whole family, and for lovers of the movie and first-timers alike. Those fresh to the story will be enthralled with it from the first moment, and those who are already familiar with it will love this fresh take on the material. With high-flying stunts and dragons, wonderful and immersive effects, and a charming story at the heart of it all, “How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular” is a show that’s not to be beat!

Disney Pixar’s BRAVE..Wondering About The Will O’ The Wisps?

Disney Pixar’s BRAVE
Wondering About The
Will O’ The Wisps?
THE LORE
WILL O’ THE WISPS
Travelers—particularly those who venture out after sunset on unfamiliar pathways—beware of the will o’ the wisps.
It is said—though by whom is a bit of a mystery—that on certain days for certain travelers in certain parts of the world, little lights dance on the horizon, whispering tempting invitations… pledging the answers to lifelong questions, the realization of dreams, a key to secret treasures—a change of fate.
Charmed and curious, unsuspecting travelers follow the floating lights, mesmerized by their whispers, their promises. Yet no matter how long or how fervently they follow, they never quite touch the beautiful beacons whose flickering lights eventually fade and disappear… leaving the inquisitors, the dreamers and the treasure seekers lost… and alone.
* * *
In “Brave,” Merida spies tiny blue lights after escaping into the forest in search of a change of fate. Forming a path that dares her to follow, the lights lead Merida to a mysterious location that holds the power to change her destiny—just not in the way she imagines.
“The will o’ the wisps are in a lot of Scottish folktales,” says “Brave” director Mark Andrews. “They were said to lead you to treasure or doom—to change your fate—but they’re an actual phenomenon of swamp and bog gas seeping up through the earth and interacting with the natural resources to create the blue flames. People would follow these lights thinking they were little fairies, and basically drown or get sucked down into the bogs.
“We made the wisps like actual little spirits,” Andrews continues. “They’re almost like Marley’s ghost in a way, because Marley’s ghost isn’t an evil spirit—even though he’s frightening, he’s trying to warn Ebenezer to change his ways. That’s what the wisps are doing. There’s a duality to them, because they’re either good or evil—they lead Merida into more and more trouble, but in the end, they’ve led her exactly where she needs to go.”

Ghost The Musical On Broadway and Discount Code

Ghost The Musical
On Broadway
and Discount Code
Now at the
Lunt-Fontanne Theater
245 W. 46th Street
NYC

When it comes to movies gone Broadway I am really not the biggest fan,

but I have to say that when I heard about Ghost The Musical on Broadway
I could not wait to check it out.

I was thrilled to be invited by The Moms to find out exactly what Ghost the Musical had to offer.
I think I must have watched the movie Ghost too many times to count and there was not a time I did not need the tissues. Just the thought of the story makes me a little teary eyed.
I will not keep you in suspense, Ghost the musical on Broadway was wonderful.
Although the story line did not imitate the exact movie story, it captured your heart and your emotions from the very first scene in a whole new way.
Molly(Caissie Levy) and Sam(Richard FleesShman) tugged on the heartstrings of everyone in the audience.
Ghost the musical had many upbeat moments that kept you from
sinking too deep into the actual sadness of the story.

For those of you who are not very familiar with the whole story line of Ghost here it goes.

Molly and Sam are very in love with each other. Molly is a sculptor and Sam is a banker who has found out a little too much information. On the way home from Molly’s Art Showing they are mugged and Sam is killed. Sam’s best friend Carl(Bryce Pinkham) is behind the attack. The information the mugger was after was not in Sam’s wallet and now Molly is in danger. Sam is caught between the world of the living and the dead and must find a way to help Molly.
Luckily Sam is guided by others who are also trapped in between worlds and also by the help of a Storefront Psychic who goes nutty when she realizes she can actually have contact with the spirits.
Along the way the truth is revealed and you will have to fight hard to hold back the tears.
Ghost the Musical on Broadway is a great story and a wonderful show. I would recommend
this to anyone who loves a good love story. The special effects are also one of a kind and amazing, bringing Broadway to a whole new level.
I’m sure the question of afterlife has all crossed our minds,
especially when it concerns the death of a loved one.
Watching Ghost will make  you Believe all over again.

As if the show was not wonderful enough, when it ended we were lucky enough to enjoy a Talk Back with some of the actors. I could see after the Talk Back exactly why Ghost was so awesome. You could just feel the love and devotion of them to the show. They Believe in Ghost and so will you!

I also have something very special to share with you, it’s a terrific offer from The Moms.

GHOST is Broadway’s new musical phenomenon! This exhilarating show fuses mind-bending illusions, a timeless story of everlasting love and a fresh pop/rock score by GrammyĂ’ winners Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know”) for a theatrical experience unlike any Broadway has seen. Adapted from the hit film by its Academy AwardĂ’winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin and directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus(God of CarnageThe Norman Conquests), this astounding spectacle is being called “EYE-POPPINGLY BRILLIANT” (AP).

Top Ten Summer Hot Spot: NYC Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise

Top Ten Summer Hot Spot
NYC Circle Line
Sightseeing Cruise
at 42nd Street
Every summer our family is in search of exciting things to do close to home. Spending time in NYC is great, but can get very crowded during the summer months. We did find a way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city streets and still take in the best of NYC.
Our little secret has been around for many years and located right on 42nd Street and 12th Ave.
Recently my family had the chance to check out the Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise. There are many cruise choices that can fit into any budget or time frame. We decided on the Circle Line Full Island 3 Hour Tour. Our cruise made a full circle around the island of Manhattan.
Our family arrived about an hour early and had the chance to see quite a few people disembarking a cruise that just docked. Their smiling faces gave us a sense of happiness.
We boarded the cruise about a half hour before it was time to sail.
There were plenty of choices on where to sit, including upstairs in a covered or uncovered area or downstairs in an indoor or outdoor area. Any seat was a good one with a great view!
It was not long before we set sail. I can remember going on the Circle Line as a young adult and loving it and I was hoping my children would feel the same way. This was their very first cruise.
We headed out and somehow the lull of the water was very calming. Our captain was so knowledgeable about the surroundings that it was a pleasure to just sit back, relax and take in the sights! Although we were familiar with many of the sights, there was something about floating under bridge after bridge that was simply magical. We sat amongst both tourists and locals and everyone was pleased.
Some of the highlights for me were passing Roosevelt Island,  Grant’s Tomb, Yankee Stadium and the beautiful view as we rounded back toward Manhattan. It was incredible to see all the mountains that are hidden behind the tall buildings of the city streets. We felt like we were a world away.
One big highlight for our entire family was being so close to The Statue of Liberty. We were in awe of Lady Liberty and also Ellis Island. There is something about the Statue of Liberty that I can never get enough of no matter how many times I have seen it. It also stirred up a lot of emotion as I watched people see it for the first time.
My children were also happily surprised to find out there was a full snack bar on board and even a souvenir  cup! I was thrilled to see how clean the Circle Line was from top to bottom. It was also great to be able to walk to different areas of the boat during the tour. I would definitely recommend the Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise to everyone and anyone! It’s great for all ages and very laid back. It was refreshing to us even though we are very familiar with all of New York. It’s a whole different ball game seeing it from the water. You just can’t explain it. So, tourist or local, this cruise is something you should not miss out on.

Another perk, there are Special Event Cruises, so it never gets boring! You can cruise on the 4th of July, Bear Mountain Cruise, Yankee Stadium Cruise and even the Kiddie Cruise (next one is July 7th). For more information please check out Circleline42.com.
