Howloween at Great Wolf Lodge! Let’s Go!

GWLhalloween10

One of our family’s favorite places to visit is Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. It’s a place we can chill out and just relax while we have fun with the family and create memories that will last a lifetime. October and Great Wolf Lodge have been a family tradition for the past seven  years! I guess you could say we love going to Great Wolf to celebrate Howloween. We have fit it into our busy schedules every single year since Emily’s 2nd birthday. This year our schedules clashed and we almost missed out, but we were able to snag a last minute reservation and we were off for a weekend of fun! You can’t even imagine how much fun can fit into a 24 hour period.

We arrived at Great Wolf just in time to enjoy the Trick-or-Treat trail. This year’s trail was spaced out throughout the hotel floors. Signs adorned the walls giving us directions on how to find the next secret treat filled room. We visited the witches, the ghosts, treats in the MagiQuest forest, and it all culminated at the life sized haunted house. But there was much more in store for us. After Trick-or-treating we took a little break up in on loft suite and then headed back to the lobby. Every night at Great Wolf you can enjoy story time. Violet the wolf joined in with the story and lead the pack of children throughout the lobby in a parade that stomped to the beat of a Howloween themed song! So cute! Soon after the parade the music started cranking and the Monster Dance Party was on! Little kids, big kids, Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents all danced along. Needless to say by the end of the night our family was totally ready to take advantage of hibernation hours.

It was kind of hard to believe that less than two hours from NYC we were thrust into the beautiful fall foliage of the Poconos and within a few hours we felt like we were away for days. Sunday morning we woke up ready for a day at the waterpark. I can’t think of a better place to be on a crispy cool fall day then in a waterpark set at 84 degrees. Count me in! Our family had a blast on the waterslides, wave pool and more. We lunched at the carry out Hungry as a Wolf and spent the day just miles away from the craziness of everyday life. The kids think they are just having a great day, as for mom and dad, we are savoring the moments before our family breaks and goes in different directions. Before leaving for home we (and all the other guests) were treated to pumpkin painting, hot cocoa, hot apple cider, an incredible petting zoo and outdoor games (all included with your stay). Waaalaa! What a perfect day. What a perfect trip. It’s impossible how much 24 hours away can just recharge and energize your family!

If you are looking for an incredible overnight getaway with the family or friends head to Great Wolf Lodge-Poconos or to the Great Wolf closest to you. You will not regret it and may even turn it into  a family tradition like we did starting back seven years ago. Honestly, I did not think seven years ago…that time would pass and we would have spent seven Octobers visiting Great Wolf Lodge. Everyone is older and everyone still loves the experience. Thanks for the happiness GWL! We wouldn’t trade you for anything. See you soon! Check out more Great Wolf here: https://www.greatwolf.com/
