Atkins® Launches First Line of Meal Kits- What a Dream Come TrueAtkinsbooksEating healthy has always been a big challenge for me. I have to admit that coming from an Italian background where food is held as something so important has taught me some wrong eating habits. Food is used in our extended family for everything. It’s not just to keep you alive, it’s something that is viewed as very important and almost an insult if the food is not consumed when presented. With saying that, I have dealt with this issue throughout the years and have manage to lose quite a few pounds along the way. The biggest issue I have come across throughout my adult life is finding time to organize a healthy meal and having a clear plan to follow. When I heard about Atkins meal kits I could not help but smile from ear to ear. What a dream come true for people like me with a busy lifestyle or people who just want it laid out in a step by step fashion. I had to wonder if it really could be that easy and organized. Let me tell you up front before you read on- It was just that easy!AtkinsboxI was thrilled to be invited to test out the new Atkins kit. My first step was choosing which one was right for me. There are three different kits available. three different options to choose from for one’s needs and lifestyle. All Meal Kits are offered exclusively at Atkins.com with a current offer for free shipping and five percent off on orders for a limited time with promotional code NEWKIT5. The Meal Kits may also be purchased as a recurring subscription.  After checking the three options below, I decided that the Easy Peasy Meal Kit looked like it would best fit my needs.

Option 1- Frozen Foodie Meal Kit ($69.99) is ideal for people who are too busy to cook full meals, requiring minimal time in the kitchen. This kit features a variety of Atkins Frozen Meals to simplify options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Option 2- Evening Chef Meal Kit ($89.99) is designed for the consumer seeking convenience during the day, but wants to prepare their own meals in the evening. The kit includes Atkins Frozen Meals, Snack Bars and Shakes to cover breakfast, lunch and snacks, with recipes and recommended shopping lists for low-carb dinners.
Option 3- Easy Peasy Meal Kit ($97.99) is the most comprehensive kit with all meals included, and consumers make their snacks and side dishes. The kit includes a variety of Atkins Frozen Meals, Meal Bars and Shakes to cover breakfast, lunch and dinner.AtkinsTo be honest with you, it all seemed just a little too easy to me. With a press of a button I was able to order a week’s worth of healthy option low carb foods and be set. I had made up my mind to go “all in” and I was set. All I had to do was wait for the box to arrive and I was good to go. The box arrived. As a little tip, please make sure that you are aware of when your Atkins Meal Kit will arrive so you can be home or have someone waiting for the box. The foods are frozen and packed in dry ice. I was so happy when the kit arrived I could barely contain myself. As I opened the box I separated everything out. There were frozen meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner. There were protein shakes and protein bars and there was a book and other organizers. For a minute I felt a little overwhelmed and thought, “How am I ever going to do this?”. Then I saw what I mentally called a lifesaver. There was  a one page  Shopping List and Menu Plan. There is was- my ticket to a healthier me.

AtkinsdrinksbarsAtkinsfrozenI started my low carb lifestyle right at that moment. I started reading. I tried to read as much as I could in the book but you know how that goes. I did read a lot of it, but what I needed was right on that one page. It was a map for seven days. The first seven days to a healthier me. Everything was mapped out- Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner. It was a little weird because I don’t think I have been eating on a five time a day schedule. I either have been grazing or trying to stick to three meals with nothing in between. The five times a day felt like something I could really honestly handle without obsessing over when the next meal would be. While Atkins is primarily a whole foods-based program, the meal kits allow people with busy lifestyles to get everything they need to get started quickly. I loved how there was a shopping list that included just what I would need for the week. No wonder the plan I chose was called Easy Peasy! The next day I hit the store and grabbed all the items I needed to successfully manage for the week. There were not that many extra items. An example of some of the items I had to pick up were cheese, mixed greens, snap peas, tomatoes, zucchini, green beans, cucumber, olives and a few other items. It was the first step in living my new low-carb lifestyle.

How does it seem to you? I absolutely love how everything is in the box AND everything is step-by-step planned out for you to follow. By the way in case you were wondering the food is good, actually it’s quite delicious! The protein bars and the protein shakes are good, too. They are good in the respect that they do not have the huge aftertaste. The pic about is how I drink the protein shake if I am home. I love to shake it up and pour it over some ice. NOW, I’m sure by this point you are wondering about how I’m doing losing weight. So far, so good. After following the plan for the past two weeks the scale has gone down eight pounds. I’m beyond thrilled with those results. The best part of this plan is that I can see it as something easy to follow and easy to stick to. I’m looking forward to my new healthy lifestyle thanks to Atkins Meal Kit and Guide. As for the price, it is kind of high for our budget, so thankfully the book gives ideas on how to intergrade real foods into the plan. I do plan on using the protein bars and protein shakes to help me stay focused. I definitely would recommend the Atkins Meal Kit Home Delivery to everyone. It really is a well thought out and easy to follow plan. Bravo, Atkins! Check out all things Atkins here: https://www.atkins.com/products
