Recently our family had the pleasure of visiting Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, PA.

Dorney Park is less than 2 hours from NYC and a perfect weekend or day trip!

When we arrived at Dorney Park, our initial question was, “Where to first?” Having three children aged 21, 13, and 5 respectively, you get very different answers! Usually, one child is satisfied while the other two anxiously await their turn. Not so at Dorney Park! The Antique Carousel, perfect for all ages, is situated right in front of you as you enter the Park. After a spin on the carousel, we were entertained with Peanuts Party in the Plaza, a hand clapping dance review with photo opportunities galore!

Of course, the youngest won the toss up and we headed to the recently renovated Planet Snoopy! On most of the rides, I could accompany my daughter, making her smile from ear to ear. She even chose her brothers to ride with her and they really enjoyed it! My older children were happy to see their old favorites were still there and new rides were added, including Snoopy’s Rocket Express,Sally’s Swing Set, Linus Launcher, and Peanuts 500, to name a few. My daughter absolutely loved Planet Snoopy!

From there, we moved on to the many thrill rides! My husband and sons were quick to head for the roller coasters like Wild Mouse, Talon, Hydra,Possessed, Demon Drop and Steel Force.  They saved the best coaster for last, the new coaster Stinger! It got a thumbs way up from everyone! 

After satisfying our coaster appetite, we headed to Coasters Drive-In for some delicious burgers and fries and outrageously thick milk-shakes! The whole family had a chance to kick back and relax in this 50’s style Drive in while enjoying a great meal together.

After a quick ride on one of our family favorites, The Tilt-A-Whirl, we enjoyed  The Heart of Rock and Roll, a Live show at Coasters Bandstand. As the sun went down and the lights came on, the Park took on a magical glow and we had to take another ride on Talon and Hang Time in the dark! 

Our wonderful day at Dorney Park ended the way it began, riding the Antique Carousel as a family. It was truly one of our most memorable days of the summer!

During the summer I had the pleasure of attending 

How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular

during its opening weekend in the USA.

The show has been making the rounds and is due

to hit New Jersey’s IZOD Center Sept. 27th-30th.

We are really looking forward to seeing this 

wonderful live show again when it rolls around.

We cannot resist seeing 23 dragons come to life. Some

of them fire breathing and with wing spams to 46 feet.

This show is truly magical in every way.

If you are a fan of How To Train Your Dragon or even if you have never seen

the movie, it won’t much matter, this will entertain you.

The show is based on the book by Cressida Cowell and centers around Hiccup.

Hiccup is a teenager that does not fit into the dragon slaying mold.

Hiccup becomes friends with a dragon and now must try to make the vikings understand 

the dragon world. How To Train Your Dragon LIVE Spectacular is exactly that, SPECTACULAR!

You will not want to let this one slip by you and your family. 

Amazing and Unique in every way! Your entire family will love this!

Recently my son and I had the pleasure of attending the 

American Idol LIVE 2012 Tour 

as it stopped off at Prudential Center in Newark,NJ.

Our family has been huge American Idol fans for years,

 but we have never had the chance to see it live.

This tour included the top ten finalists, featuring Philip Phillips,
the current American Idol.

The show opened with a video introduction by host Ryan Seacrest,
pumping up the audience for a night of  fun!
The evening featured performances both individually as well as in groups,
 singing and dancing to the current hits.
There were some standout performances by runner-up Jessica Sanchez
and original songs performed by Colton Dixon from his new album!
 It was not long before  the crowd was on their feet
dancing and singing along!

During  the second half of the show,
 the stage was electrified with energy by
 performances from the top ten singers.
The moment everyone was waiting for, my son and myself included,
came with the introduction of Philip Phillips,
and as he took the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers!
After the applause died down, he sang hist smash hit single Home.
 He followed up with a beautiful duet with Jessica Sanchez.
When all was said and done, the group finished with ” Glad you Came”
and my son looked at me and said “I am Too!”
