It seems like Hershey’s has been a part of my life forever.
I can remember going to Hershey Park as a child and talking about it for weeks afterwards. Little did I know then how long the memories would last and carry on to my own children. My family of five has shared many Happy Hershey’s Moments together! I can proudly say that our family is a very Hershey’s Family!
I can remember when I first heard that a Hershey’s store would be moving into Times Square. My entire family could not wait to see what it would be like. The excitement built as the opening date closed in. We visited it as soon as it opened and frequented it many times since, so it was incredible to me to think that the store has been there TEN years already!
I was honored to be invited by Hershey’s to share in the Big 10th Anniversary Celebration!
As if the store was not already wonderful enough, it has taken on a refreshing new look and has some amazing new interactive fun to share with its visitors. Opening the doors to the Hershey’s Chocolate World Times Square is like opening the doors to whole other world. Once inside you will be greeted by the chocolate scent that only Hershey’s chocolate can create. Ummmm..Thank goodness one of the new store features is “Taste Hershey’s Happiness Station” where you can sample the latest and
greatest chocolates! You will definitely
want to sample some of these.Yum! There will be two samples showcased each week.
One of my favorite new additions to the store is “Wrap Hershey’s Happiness” where you can customize a wrapper for a 7 oz. bar with your picture and personal greeting. It will be displayed on the marquee that adorns the store. Wow! Now that is something great! I loved to see my children’s pictures not only on the chocolate bar wrapper to treasure, but on the billboard of the store with the marquee scrolling below. It doesn’t get much better than that in my eyes! The experience was pretty exciting for everyone in our family! “Wrap Hershey’s Happiness” is also available online at hersheysstore.com where you can choose the wrapper! You can also choose from pre-wrapped designs featuring NYC Times Square images or holidays, such as Mother’s Day. The bars are reasonably priced and start at less than $5.00, and only $9.99 for the personalized bar with billboard/marquee. Imagine how happy someone would be to see their picture on the billboard for their birthday, anniversary, holiday or just because! It’s hard to resist!
We also had the chance to try out the redesigned “Mix Your Favorites”, where my children were able to choose their favorite Hershey’s Miniatures that were then, somehow magically, with a touch of a button transported from up above into our bucket of fun! What a great experience to try out! The bucket was overflowing with all of our family’s favorites!
Guests also have a wonderful opportunity to give back,if they choose to, through “Share Hershey’s Happiness” program. They can purchase a wooden token and use it to vote for the supported charities: Children’s Miracle Network, United Way, World Cocoa Foundation. The Hershey Company will donate funds to each organization bases on the percentage of votes that each receives.
